St Christopher's Inn Amsterdam - The Winston

Sadly, I cannot recommend, one of the woman’s dorms has bed bugs.

I came out of this trip loving it but one thing has really made it a downer for me. Out of the 5 of my friends and I who stayed here, 3 of us have left with 'bites' on us. I can't say for sure bed bugs but that seems the only logical explanation. However the room pods were comfortable and private. My dormmates were respectful. The private bathroom was clean. The bar downstairs is loud but you expect that when staying in such a central location. Everything would have been 10/10 for me if not for the bites.

TINHA PERCEVEJO NA MINHA CAMA! Não fiquem nesse hostel se não quiserem pegar bug bed. Quando falei pra recepcionista no check out, não se prontificou pra nenhum tipo de ressarcimento. Camas sujas, com resto de sujeira de outros guests na lateral. Tem escadas dentro do quarto, super difícil de locomoção com malas. Quarto quente, só com um ventilador.

BEWARE OF BEDBUGS!!! My friends and I booked a room and immediately we were dissatisfied with the cleanliness. My friend noticed stains on her sheets and took them to the front desk to change them and the receptionist said “wow that looks like dried blood”, which is a tell tale sign of bed bugs. The next morning my friend woke up covered in bites and has since discovered new ones. We’ve contacted the hostel with no resolution. Please be incredibly careful. Bed bugs are a nightmare to deal with and god forbid you accidentally bring them home with you!! 0 stars!! Do not book!!! I also want to mention the couple that was you know what with the curtain open in our shared room. If you’re looking for. a decent and clean space, this is not it.

BED BUGS!!! I never write reviews but really felt the need to because everyone should know they have bed bugs!!! I got eaten alive and it literally ruined my trip. I will say, the staff refunded my stay and paid to get my clothes washed, however, doesn’t change the fact that there were bed bugs.

Very central, didn’t hear any noise when sleeping, you can visit all the city by walking, like 15-20 minutes from Amsterdam centraal station, same until Museumplein. Clean bedrooms, it’s good to prints it because you can see people complaining about bedbugs in other hostels in Amsterdam. A good place to stay!

Amazing stay in a perfect location. Beds surprisingly comfortable and clean bed linen and towels on all three days of our stay. Staff friendly and helpful; I found the stay quiet considering you’re pretty much in the centre of Amsterdam. The only qualms I had were the silverfish/larvae in the shower and the bed bug bites that had popped up on my travels after leaving. Other than these small issues, that can easily be resolved, an almost perfect stay
