Would NOT stay here. Hostel owner was super weird and touchy with some of the girls - trying to kiss/get them into his room. Rooms were also pretty grim and mouldy
One of the worst hostels ! Extremely dirty and a bad owner. He asked me to pay 2000LKR more to turn on the A/C in the dorm (even if it was included in the price of the booking)
DO NOT RECOMMEND IF YOU LIKE BEING TREATED WITH RESPECT! My stay here was terrible. The main female member of staff had zero respect for me when I had left my charger out in a public space and asked her if she could ask any of the staff if they had seen or moved it. She took it as an accusation and responded by shouting at me and claiming I was calling her family thieves. She took a sarcastic passive aggressive tone and told me to search her house and all her personal belongings.Dirty & dingy.
Die Betten waren komplett durchgelegen und dadurch furchtbar unbequem. In der Nacht war es sehr warm, 27 Grad aber wir durften die Klimaanlage nicht anschalten, da wir nur 2 Personen waren. Die Klimaanlage wird wohl erst ab 4 Personen eingeschalten…
The beds were completely lined and therefore terribly uncomfortable. at night it was very hot, 27 degrees but we were not allowed to turn on the air conditioning as we were only 2 people. the air conditioning is probably only turned on after 4 people...
Good: Friendly host with helpful tips. Convenient location, reliable Wi-Fi, cozy house with terrace overlooking a small jungle. Bad: Host entered dorm late at night without explanation—unsettling, especially for solo female travelers. Worst: bed bugs. I left covered in bites, so the issue isn’t fixed. Lovely potential, but can’t recommend until problems are addressed.
Make sure you check details of booking upon arrival! Checked into the hostel and went out. I didn’t return back until 11pm where I was told that they’d checked me into the wrong room. They had already lifted and removed all my stuff and put me into a non-A/C room. My booking said it included A/C so was quite confusing??? Thankfully they moved me into the A/C room for second night. Overall the hostel lacked cleanliness, bug nets and the showers were bad. Let me stay in lobby beyond checkou...
Leider war die Unterkunft deutlich unter vertretbaren Hygienestandards. Das Zimmer war sehr feucht, die Klima hat nicht wirklich funktioniert und das Badezimmer war katastrophal, ich habe noch nie so etwas dreckiges gesehen. Die Mitarbeiter waren grundsätzlich freundlich und bemüht aber auch auf unsere verfrühte Abreise und der Hinweis auf fehlende Sauberkeit wurde nicht reagiert. Sozial war es auch nicht, wir haben nur eine andere Person gesehen.
Unfortunately the accommodation was clearly below reasonable hygiene standards. the room was very humid, the air conditioning didn't really work and the bathroom was disastrous, i've never seen anything so dirty. the staff were basically friendly and caring but also for our premature departure and the hint of lack of cleanliness was not responded to. it was not social either, we just saw another person.
Place could have been kept more clean including the bathrooms.Not worth the money.Lot of things should be improved
I wouldn’t recommend staying at this hostel. It felt dirty and the staff weren’t particularly friendly. The bathroom smelt of urine and had ants. The bedsheets didn’t feel clean. We could hear rats scurrying around in the roof above us when we were trying to sleep and saw a huge spider and cockroaches in the house.

Insgesamt war die Unterkunft okay. Standort war super, nahe dem Galle Fort. Personal war auch nett, konnten aber nicht so gut Deutsch. Das Badezimmer war Horror. Kein Ventilator etc. sodass man direkt nach dem duschen wieder geschwitzt hatte. Für 1-2 Nächte war es okay
Overall the accommodation was okay. Standort was super, near dem Galle Fort. Personal was also nett, but could not so good Deutsch. Das Badezimmer was Horror. No Ventilator etc. so that one had switched again directly after the shower. For 1-2 Nights was it okay

The staff was really nice and good, really helpfull. They have motorbikes for rent.
Die Unterkunft war in Großen und Ganzen in Ordnung. Das Bad im OG war unsauber. Wir hatten ein Privatzimmer mit super Klimaanlage. Die Betten waren ebenso sauber und angenehm. Leider hatten wir an beiden Nächten ein Tier in der Decke, konnte die Unterkunft nichts dafür, es war aber sehr laut und beängstigend!
The accommodation was in good order, basically. The bathroom in the OG was unsanitary. We had a private room with super air conditioning. The beds were equally clean and comfortable. Unfortunately we had an animal in the ceiling on both nights, the accommodation could not do anything about it, but it was very loud and scary!
For a budget stay you can rough it through. Very hot rooms but fan was provided making it ok. Bathroom was clean but had lots of ants. Not the best spot near a river. Wooden lockers worked but were really musty. Staff were friendly and helpful. Its a bit more run down than the photos but as noted, budget place to stay for a night and easy to get to the fort for a look around the next day.
Hostel was ok for the price. Not too far from the centre. . Good value for money.

amazing value for money! not in the fort but only a ten minute walk away. bed was uncomfortable but the Aircon was great in the heat. owner was lovely and helpful with planning further travel
Easy 10 min walk to Beach Road and ocean. Quiet. Easy 1 km walk to to bus, train station, Galle fort (free). Owner keeps close eye on everything, including us. Two bathrooms help. Cleaned daily, big dorm, AC works fine. Check other sites for price, it pays to shop. Owner didn't change sheets after one person left, but did after second. Owners behavior erratic at times, but ok, it's about money, deal with it. Shoes off inside. Cheap traditional place to eat is Uvidi, nearby, on Beach Road, ask.

It was great - but not clean. Good breakfast, did our washing, super helpful staff. But very dirty bed sheets, moldy pillow, mouse poo on bed and mattress. Could also hear mice scuttling around in roof at night which wasn’t nice and led to bad sleep.

Genial estancia. Muy amable el dueño, la comida bien y tiene alquiler de bicicleta y de moto. El lugar está genial, ubicado y tranquilo. Por la mañana sobre las 6.30 hay monos alrededor .
Very friendly the owner, the food is good and there is a bike and motorbike rental. the place is great, located and quiet. in the morning around 6.30 there are monkeys around.
