Kimchee Busan Downtown Guesthouse

Really do not recommend staying here. The bathroom looked more like a public restroom and was never clean. Very uncomfortable bed. overall the whole hostel need a lot of inprovements and cleaning. The staff member who checked me in was very lovely and helpful.

I think it’s a good hostel, I just didn’t get the chance to stay very long since it was just a stop over maybe if I had stayed longer it might of changed my review. My only problem is I believe I got bitten by bed bugs, which quickly affected my experience here, so hopefully this is something they can improve on in their cleaning and something to consider for travels coming here

Didn’t feel clean. Lingering smell of sweat everywhere. The towels smelt like sweat / not clean. Awkward that there’s only one gender toilet on each floor so I had to go downstairs to pee in the night

I would not recommend this place. My stay was really disappointing. The cleanliness was far below acceptable—one of the sinks in the washroom was completely clogged, and the entire space felt poorly maintained. There was no one at the front desk when I arrived, which made check-in frustrating. Not recommended at all you can find better anywhere else in Busan

letdown of a hostel. The staff were the only positive thing i took away from it. The hostel have 'volunteers' that assist in its upkeep...the concept is great, but doesnt appear to be working. The volunteers also appeared to make up the majority of residents. Unfriendly and passive aggressive.i felt unsafe. Two in particular kept yelling at us in russian as if i understood. hostel has potential. Wont stay again. almost ruined busan for me.

When we arrived at the property to pay we were told that international credit cards are charged a 5% fee, as "all ATM machines around Busan charge 13% of your transaction as a fee, you pay 5% and we pay the rest". What total rubbish! Completely ripped off, we weren't to know as we had only just landed in Korea so trusted their comments. Unfortunately, every single other purchase we made in Busan had no credit card fee and when we withdrew cash we were charged a flat rate of ₩4800. Not impresse...

When the staff noticed me after five minutes whilst wanting to check in after just repeating several times and seeing her watching just TikTok videos I decided to drop my bags and check in later. Nice guesthouse on a central location in Busan. The staff was friendly and the common room had several facilities and lots of places to hang out. However, relative to other accommodations it was quite expensive in relation to comfort / cleanliness / quality of the room… Also, it is an old hotel which made the vibe a bit weird, as everyone can just walk inside. Therefore we recommend female travellers not to go solo.

Really enjoyed my stay at Kimchee. Very friendly staff and good social atmosphere. Very easy to travel around with nearby bus and metro access.

The location is nicely centralized with easy access to the metro and close to Busan Station. The staff is quite helpful. However, they do seem to attract a rather loud party-type crowd. Therefore, if you are looking for a place that is quiet, you are better off getting one of the private rooms. However, even with a private room, I had an experience with guests on my same floor who were extremely noisy in the early hours (4-5am). Gute Lage, aber recht dreckig und teilweise komischer Vibe. Viele Locals die nur etwas günstiges gesucht haben. Common Area nicht so taktisch ausgerüstet. Die Betten sind zudem sehr hart und wackelig. Das Gebäude selbst ist sehr heruntergekommen

this is the worst hostel i have ever stayed at. it's filthy and hard to sleep in the dorms. i would recommend staying elsewhere if you are visiting busan.

Has everything you need, staff are friendly and the bathrooms are good! It’s also in a great location for cafes, restaurants etc.

Great value for money, you get what you pay for. It’s quite far away from the happening areas, spend a lot of time on public transport. Common area is minute, super super small. Kinda weird vibes.

Had a great stay here. Good kitchen, great location, nice and chill staff. Gave me really good restaurant recommendations. Wifi works well. You can tell they upkeep the facilities with daily cleaning. I would stay here again.

You get what you pay for in terms of facilities and cleanliness. Location is right near metro and 10 mins from clubbing area. Easy to meet people in the common areas

Positives: Cheap, clean, centrally located, very nice staff. Negatives: so cold (except for the dorms, the rest of the facilities were always so freaking cold I had to dress the same as if I were outdoors), the kitchen is poorly equipped, and the atmosphere is not as social as other hostels I've been to before.

I adored Kimchee! Busan was my favorite city in my most recent travel and Kimchee is such a good jumping off point to explore the city... Great location close to the metro and lots of restaurants and cafes. The rooms were comfortable, good temperature, and quiet.. the common areas were great for cooking and hanging out with the other travelers in the evening! Juan was very helpful, as I extended multiple times haha.. and great with directions and recommendations. Definitely would stay again!
