PRO : 1. Cheapest dorm room you can find in downtown Toronto with 2 old fashioned bulks sleep 4 all male no curtain (on the advertised does) I have got room no.45 on the 3rd floor which has Air-Con heater closet open shelf and power outlets (bring your own power adapter ) .They provide you a bed sheet and towel after check in and also your personal locker as well no security deposit required 2.Location is great about 240 meters away from Subway (Sherbourne) and Nofrills Supermarket just across the street +++ 3.There are 2 decent side kitchens with 4 electric stoves fridge sink utensils kitchen wares and trash bins one down the basement and the other on 3rd floor 4.Very attentive staffs and good service+++ 5.Luggage storage before check in( 2 p.m) and after check out (11 a.m)+++ CON : 1.This premise is actually the resident building that alter to a dorm with no elevator 2.There are 2 old bathrooms each floor with no amenities like shampoo or shower cream only hand soap provided at least a hair dryer 3.Even you can cook from 8 a.m till 11 p.m but not allowed for any strong smell ingredients that’s means you can make only salad instant noodles soup pasta or microwavable food when happening you will get yelling from the caretaker(reception) right away that’s really odd . 4.I have stayed for 4 nights (04-08 /Nov/25 and slept on the same sheet without changing luckily having no bed bugs .

WARNING BEDBUGS!!!!! I had a really bad experience there! I came with my family to spend 3 nights. In the first place, we discovered there where no real windows in the bedroom. Instead, there where two windows in the ceilling that could not be opened nor be blinded. If you like being woken up at 6am, you are at the right place. For the price we paid, would it have been the only problem, it would have been okay but we also discovered bedbugs! In both of the beds ! The owner first denied that fact but his employee then told us they knew about it. But he clearly didn't take it seriously. As it was already late, we had to spend the 1st night there, and we found lots of other bugs in the room. The next day, the same employee told us he couldn't do anything and he couldn't refund the price for the room. He was clearly dishonest. Fortunately, we had reserved the room via Booking which pressured them and got us our money back. I understand that the presence of bedbugs is not the staff's fault, but their way to deal with the situation was abbsolutely not ok! I advise you not to stay at that place if you don't want to take horrible souvenirs with you back home!

My sister and I had very bad experience from this hotel. 2 days after spending there, we noticed some red bumps on our body. First we thought is cuz of mosquitoes bites cuz we were out the whole days. But after returning back from our vacation which was for 6 nights, all over our body was bitten and had very bad rash and redness. Finally, we ended up a doctor and recognized bed bugs bite. We got bitten terribly by bedbugs and whole our body was inflamed, red, and itchy. We couldn’t go to work the few first days cuz of bad rash and itcheness. Their bed sheets, rest rooms and bath rooms super dirty and they don’t change bedsheets every day like other hotels. They don’t clean rooms daily. Rest rooms and bathrooms are not private and you have to share with others.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed here. Nothing but positive things to say. The room was clean. The bathrooms were clean. And common rooms were clean. The owner/front desk clerk was awesome. I have never seen bed bugs, or anything dirty. There might have been 1 or 2 small holes in the sheets. But nothing major. I will say the first time I stayed there, the a/c in the room was not working properly, but it was fixed. And I had moved downstairs. Also, if you ask for extra pillows or blankets, they will gladly give them to you.

Honest review. The place is quite old and tired especially the bathrooms. But everything works, there's good kitchen space. The location is good. However, there's quite a few issues too. Some of the staff have a bit of an attitude. I don't think on purpose it's just how they are. They didn't like to take credit card and asked for cash. Although good kitchen space they don't really want you cooking they'd rather you just prepare easy food without "smells". In the dorm room of 4, some people were claiming to be bitten by bed bugs. The staff were told but I'm not convinced anything other than a change of sheets happened. Aside from this, the stay was fine vs the cost which was the cheapest place I could find in Toronto.

I think it's fair to say you get what you pay for - not a lot, bordering on gross. Can't knock the location. The owner/manager gets the job done but is pretty absent/unapproachable. The bedroom and bathrooms were clean on the surface but everything did have a gross feel, like it needed a deep clean and a refresh. My friend found a BED BUG - room wasn't infested but they clearly have a problem. The atmosphere is non-existent, verging on creepy and uncomfortable. If you can afford elsewhere, do it

Had booking for 4 days and left after 2. Been to other hostels before and this one was no where near as nice. Bed/Pillows/Bedding were uncomfortable, rooms were hot, and 2 out of the 3 showers were in unbearable conditions. Small, broken things throughout, and looked like it has not been cleaned in years. The showers and me finding a bed bug in my bed made me decide to leave. If you have the stamina, stay here because the location is great. But even with the price, its not worth it. you can get a much nicer hostel in the city for a little bit more if you just book far enough in advance.

First visit a few months ago was great but second visit was not. There were bed bugs.

The private rooms are very small with a tv dating back from the 90's and 3 channels The common area are inexistant except a kitchen, a couch and 2 computers The receptionists are never here, you have to call them via a phone and they never smile seems like they don't wanna be there My bf was bitten by bed bugs and we only had one towel each for 4 nights However, the kitchen and showers are clean and they kept our luggages for our last day

2 words: BED BUGS I stayed there a few days and discovered bed bugs bites all over my legs and chest after the very first night. I initially thought it was an allergy reaction but then I saw multiple bed bugs in my bed a few days later. I panicked and took pictures. The next day I spoke with a staff, showed the the pictures and not only they did nothing about it but accused me of bringing them over. I never had this issue back home. Their mattress is clearly extremely old and used. So instead of holding themselves accountable for their problem, they'd rather accuse the customer who spent good money at their location. Even with proofs and everything. Their staff was extremely unprofessional and rude on top of that. No compensation, no apologies. I had to deal with the consequences of their negligences back home. I basically paid to deal with bed bugs and rude staff members. Not worth it. At all

Don't believe those 5 star ratings, they are faked posts. dishonest and misleading listing online. first, the street number is wrong, there is no #13, had a hard time to find the hotel. second, no parking available even if you wanted to pay for it, only for long term stays, ridiculous! finally, the manager never responds to your inquires before the cancellation deadline, a bad treacherous businessman. Be ware of bed bug issue, and no private bathroom, you must share with other people!

WOOORRRSTTTT HOSTEL EVER!!! Never go there, we had bedbugs in our room and we had to put all of our clothes in the washing machine! The receptionist was rude and wanted to charge us more !!!! The room was dirty and it smelled like bedbugs repellent!!! NEVER GO THERE THANK YOUUU!!!!

I gave a good score on Hostels EVEN if I was bit by a BEDBUG. I just read a previous review of someone having the same problem from August. Which means the bedbugs were already present and he didn't do anything to fix the problem in September.

Had bed bugs when I was there. They didn't bite me (I think) but they messed up my roommate's face and back. We told the front desk guy who assured us that they don't have bed bugs but he had our room cleaned (or at least we were told it was cleaned. It probably was, but I'm not sure). Place wasn't really too bad otherwise. Definitely not nice, but if not for the bed bugs I'd give it at least 3 stars.

I booked a single private room for 3 days, but when I got there, they would only give me a 4 person dorm. There were bed bugs all over the bed. Management wasn't even at the desk most of the time.

I wish I could give this hostel no stars. The staff is incredibly rude and insensitive. The hotel is dirty with dust, hair, and dirt throughout the room as well as bathrooms. There is rarely ever anyone down at the desk for service. We had no washcloths and I could not get new towels due to lack of service. The beds have bed bugs that they refuse to address. They would not switch rooms or give us a refund. DO NOT waste your money staying at this hostel!
