It’s the bare minium, and is hardly a functioning hostel, and it’s quite expensive. But the rooms have a Nice aircondition

I don’t even know where to begin. Biggest takeaway: Don’t stay here. Use monasterystays.com to find affordable stays in Rome. The only reason we made friends at this hostel was through trauma bonding (during the 2+ hr check-in process). Franco (the owner and only employee) needs to hire out more labor to help him but is stubborn and refuses. Did not want us locking the door to our room and only gave us one set of keys for two people. Bathrooms were gross, did not trust any of the facilities....

DO NOT STAY HERE. ‘Check in’ was the owner throwing the key from the top floor onto the street below. My room was the top floor which consisted of 8 flights of stairs which are filthy. Covered in rubbish and dirty laundry. The top floor has a disgusting mouldy communal fridge and microwave which smells. The entrance to the top floor is covered with rubbish and what looks like previous travellers old suitcases and clothes that have been left behind. The room has 2 single beds and a bunk. Ther...

The room is not the same as advertised. The door in the room I stayed cant be closed and there is some stinky smell i am not sure from where. There were pile of rubbish in the bathroom, and scum on the bathroom tiles. have to call the owner’s for check in, as there is no 24 hour reception. Penso che quel posto non dovrebbe essere aperto. Sembra abbandonato e completamente abusivo e sporco. Norme di sicurezza inesistenti e odore di gas all' ingresso dove si sale nelle camere. Mi meraviglio del fatto che le website non faccia nessun tipo di controllo dato che sembra sia l'unico modo di accedere alla struttura,Non ha nessuna insegna. Abbiamo speso 300 euro per due notti, veramente assurdo. State alla larga.

Great location, not so great hostel…. felt SO unsafe the first night I got there, would have definitely gone somewhere else if I had the money…..survived, but would not stay here again. Personal tip: just don’t stay in the centre of Rome ….. you think you are going to get quality for the price you pay, but in reality you just pay for the location…

Kein Hostel sondern einzelne Zimmer in einem Haus. Der Check-In Prozess war etwas seltsam und fühlte sich unsicher an. Das Zimmer war okay, das Bad war maximal ausreichend, der Duschvorhang verschimmelt, es gab kein warmes Wasser, das Wasser im Waschbecken ist quasi nicht abgelaufen und aus dem Wasserhahn kam nur ein sehr dünner Wasserstrahl. Das Zimmer konnte man nicht abschließen und ich habe mich insgesamt nicht sicher und unwohl gefühlt. Ich würde nicht noch einmal hier übernachten.

My friend and I have chosen this place in a rush bc we won the tickets for the imagine dragons concert the day right before it and we didn’t find any other solution due to the sold out in Rome. Great stay. Franco was very welcoming.

Franco was a lovely host, very friendly with lots of advice and suggestions. The hostel had everything I needed, comfy bed with lots of blankets, a secure locker and a desk. The bathroom had everything I needed too. There is a fridge and a microwave. It is on the top floor of an apartment building. The apartment building is a bit run down but once you get to the hostel it is nice. Definitely had a more peaceful vibe compared to other hostels in Rome that are full of students etc.

Amazing place. Glad I found it. Helpful staff, clean, central. And a very fair price.

Very central location – just a 3-minute walk from Termini and 10 minutes from the Colosseum. The owner was very helpful. Prices were the most reasonable I could find in such a quiet but central area. Will definitely return!

Not the place to go for a social atmosphere but very nice for a private room. At first it seemed slightly sketchy. Franco the guy in charge is great and very helpful

The vibe was really off here! The address given is not the actual address of the rooms, but an abandoned bar full of empty milk crates and junk where Franco is (hopefully) waiting for you… and check in takes a very long time while he shuffles around the bar & to the room. He also came into the room in the morning while I was still in bed :/ No air conditioning, no common area, mostly empty with no one to meet, poor facilities… convenient location & ok beds but I wish I’d stayed somewhere e...

Great location. The man in charge was nice, accommodating, and easy going. The bad thing was the cleanliness. They clean the toilet and empty out the trash daily. However, the shower was never cleaned. I was showering in other people’s hair, filth, with a moldy shower curtain, and dirty floor mat. Also, the bedroom floor was never cleaned. I was walking around a ton of hair and debris. To make matters worse, the mattress I got sank bad on the left side: very old mattresses. I would not go back...

This was an absolutely wonderful stay in Rome and great location! Franco with the hostel was very communicative and allowed us to check in early and check out late. He made our stay absolutely wonderful in Rome and helped us out during our time as needed. We even got an upgraded room! Great stay!

I liked it! This is definitely not a hostel where you will meet a lot of other fellow travelers, but the location is great and Franco was very responsive. The shower was baby

Franco is nice. Randomly got upgraded to a private room for no extra cost. Discount for cash. Shower is very very tiny. Toilet has a seat! Windows do not have curtains.

Franco was very accommodating and friendly! The location was very central and walkable to other places. It was also very close to bus stops that made it easy to get around Rome and to the Vatican City. The room and bathroom were clean, and the beds were comfortable! Loved our stay!

Bar Dell’Arista is a perfect location when in Rome, it’s so central, literally 5/7 minute walk from Terminini. Franco is amazing, he will acccommodate with great hospitality. I love the female dorm, 1st floor, spacious, quiet and private. I’ve stayed here 2/3 times and I’ll always stay there upon returning to Roma. Grazi Franco

This hostel is a gem in the middle of Rome. Close to many highlights, comfortable and extremely helpful staff. I will return.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Mattress and pillow were very comfortable, which is a priority for me. Also spotlessly clean. Location was fantastic. I could easily walk to many of the tourist attractions. Franco went out of his way in explaining to me trains, metro, buses etc. Definitely a home away from home.

Was booking for my colleague to stay in this hidden gem of Rome. After been to Rome several times, she loves the place so much! It’s Great Location, near the Santa Maria Basilica in Rome, and the Train Station. The Room was very cleaned and very good shared facilities. Value for Money and the Staffs were very friendly and helpful. The Host Franco was extremely friendly. Would highly recommend to stay at Bar Dell” Artista in Rome!

Don't expect a traditional hostel with a front desk check in, as these are simply rooms in an apartment building. However Franco (the manager) is very nice and does all he can to help you out during your stay
