The Hosteller Fort Kochi, Ocean Edge

The air conditioner leaked overnight and soaked all of my clothes. The staff didn’t care, just saying ‘it’s no problem’. The sleeping conditions in the dorm were also very uncomfortable with the AC cranked too high (too cold) and a massive blanket which made me sweat

It lacks a hostel vibe completely; it feels more like a hotel, and the staff doesn’t make any effort to build a hostel environment.

We found the staff unhelpful, and the check in system extremely irritating. We spent 1 hour checking in only to find the dorm we booked was a windowless box that really stank. We upgraded to a private room, which took another hour for the staff to change in the system. Tried to shorten our stay to just 1 night but staff said it wasn’t possible and we had to stay longer than we wanted. We did not enjoy our stay here, wouldn’t recommend

The hostel was fine, clean and secure however the app ruined it it’s beyond bad. Everything has to ordered on it and it’s so slow and payments charge extra for ‘connivence’ get rid of the website and maybe i’d stay again but not until. I would avoid unless you can be arsed to spend hours on the website to get anything done!

Our double room was spacious with A/C, but at nearly $30 USD it wasn’t justified. There was no running water until 9 PM and no communication. Reception was unmanned when we arrived, and check-in was slow and unhelpful. Laundry was supposed to be 180 INR/kg but we were charged per item — 3.5 kg cost 1,280 INR. Poor service overall; we checked out after one night and wouldn’t recommend.

I didn’t like this hostel. The female door is on the ground floor with no windows, just like the shower area. Feels like you live in a bunker. Not a social hostel at all, the common area was solely occupied with people working on their laptop. Showers were not clean (hairs on floor) and uncomfortable (nothing to put your stuff). Staff is friendly.

Rooms were absolutely filthy - looks like the floor had never been cleaned

Nice hostel, bit far from anything so if you don’t have a scooter you will end up paying a lot for tuk tuks, but beautiful views around the hostel and the staff were helpful with organising any activities or transport or anything needed, dorm rooms were good, couldn’t really ask for more, great place to come and just chill for a couple days

nice rooms with comfy beds, but we had a bad experience with laundry: were told it was 24hrs and priced by kg (so ready at 9:30am next day), however when we went to collect it they said to wait until 1:30pm, which we couldn’t do as we were checking out. they finally got it brought back to the hostel at 12pm after we pushed. Fine. Has a nice rooftop with pool table and water filters which was nice. Quite a weird vibe though and the e-checkin is quite annoying with high fees.

Everyone was very nice and helpful! The hostel was located in a convenient area as well.

Good property in Fort Kochi. Visited for the biennale for just couple of days. Staff is helpful. Zero socialising vibe as most of the people spend time just for sleeping here while exploring the fort area but then you can go to club 18 which is few steps away for few drinks and socialise all you want in late evenings.

I had a wonderful stay at The Hosteller Fort Kochi Ocean Edge! The location is perfect, peaceful, close to the ocean, and ideal for exploring Fort Kochi. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the vibe made it easy to relax and meet fellow travellers. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything I needed.

Had a lovely stay at the hosteller its right in Fort Kochi so everything was walking distance and as everything is digitalised by their Glu app all the requests and food orders became seamless, the staff is really helpful would surely visit again!!

I visited this hostel as I was in Kochi for the Biennale. It was amazing, so close to all interesting spots. The hostel itself was worth visiting. I met some great people here. Definitely recommend!
