Staff were really unhelpful, very disappointed

vibe here was weird and cliquey, rooms were SO cramped there was literally no place to put your bag, only small lockers for valuables, so everyone’s stuff is everywhere. showers were warm but lost pressure when other water sources were being used, same with taps, sometimes they just dripped. kitchen was cramped, not enough workspace, frying pans battered, old equipment in kitchen and flies everywhere. they have a shop where u can buy small groceries like eggs for $0.25 each which was useful

First time there I did only the cooking pupusas class and staff was so friendly..so much that some weeks later booked one night..only to be sorely dissapointed (all volunteers were new and none talktative, one tall tan latin guy which I think was volunteer seemed more on the bully side, and no atmosphere nor hints of were to sign up for events or what to do Saturday night).

We didn’t experience the party side of the hostel. The silent disco was so painful to watch and listen to. I’m sure people had fun but like not us. Also so much sand on the floors of the dorms it was wild

The place is just ok I think. It is a bit further away from the beach than a lot of other hostels and outside the dorm there was a persistent smell of stagnant water. They also said they had towels for rent however, for the entirety of my stay I was told there were no towels available. On the bright side staff were kind and accommodating and sometiens even offered lifts to the centre if they were heading that way.

This hostel and its reviews really confused me? A lot of people rave about the vibes here and I laughed after leaving because people are always around but everyone is just lounging and no one really talks to anyone. We here for 3 nights and these are the biggest take aways: it’s quite a small hostel in general for 26-30+ people. There are ONLY two sinks with mirrors. 4 toilets and 4 showers for this many people. My room had a moldy stink to it, glad I only stayed one night

un peu loin du centre d’el tunco mais ce n’est pas vraiment dérangeant, cet hostel a tout pour plaire : cordes à linge, cuisine pratique, clim dans les chambres, plusieurs douches spacieuses, billard… le personnel est assez sympa et les espaces communs agréables. mais la propreté est à revoir et l’eau a tendance à être souvent coupée (notamment en plein milieu des douches…). en raison de la proximité d’une rivière, il y a des moustiques et parfois des odeurs d’égouts.

Party vibes snd cute little hostel great for meeting people, a little bit of a walk from the town and the river is a bit stinky lol (not from the hostel) but great price for air conditioning, place to do and hang laundry, hangout good communal and social vibes, clean rooms and bathrooms and showers. But hectic kitchen but nice to have, small cheap local corner store right next door, board rentals in the hostel, only some of the activities don’t actually happen as written on the board :/

Good AC which was a relief from the heat but not the most social vibes. Lots of people in groups that kept to themselves. Lockers quite small (enough for valuables) and not a lot of space for bags in the rooms.

Very Social Hostel,Lots of fun activities and a nice chill area! Nice kitchen to cook in! Volunteers were awesome and super fun ! Also the toilets&showers were clean and the rooms have ac which is nice! 10/10 Hostel would recommend!:)

Very social hostel, i loved the vibe and staff. Great volunteers, very funny and always inviting people to hang out. The rooms have A/C, which is great to cool down after a hot day

Don’t really understand any of the reviews that aren’t 10/10, this place is great. The owner and everyone who works there are absolutely amazing and super easy to talk to. Common area always had people in it, which makes it super easy to meet new people. Curtains on the beds, and great AC in the room. Only gripe would be to have small fans or something in the bathrooms, it gets pretty hot in there.

Excellent Hostel. 5 min walk to the beach and main resturants and bars. Bed were comfortable with Curtians and great A/C in rooms. Staff were amazing always made sure you were having a great time. Exellent Common area always full of travelers. Definitely will come stay again

Hostel un peu en dehors du centre mais joignable facilement. bcp d'américains venus surfer, il y a la clim dans la chambre, la cuisine ok et de l'eau. Ils vendent des trucs à manger et boire a la réception. pas de grosse ambiance sociale poussée par le staff du tout, mais on peut rencontrer des gens assez facilement quand même !

I had an amazing time at Duck Dive. The hostel is just a 5-minute walk from the beach. There’s a nice kitchen where I could cook my own food, and there’s plenty of space in the fridge. I could also rent a scooter and a surfboard there. The vibe was very social, but chill at the same time. It was perfect, since I like to sleep well and it’s really quiet late at night. The staff were really helpful and friendly. I hope to come back soon.

The perfect hostel! After staying in every hostel in el tunco duck dive is the best one . The social is great , it’s 5 min walk from the beach , the kitchen is really big and you have surfboards and scooters to rent for good prices. 10/10!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The best hostel in town is 10 min from the center but worth it!

Great hostel! I met a lot of travelers thanks to all the activities offered. The hostel is open to everyone, even to other travelers who just want to come for a drink or join an activity. The staff is also excellent. I extended my stay by several nights.

Very nice, good community, clean and well kept

Genuinely one of my favorite hostels I’ve ever stayed at! The staff are so kind and welcoming. It’s a social hostel and during the week the hostel has different activities planned for the guests that are fun and a great way to meet people. The hostel is right outside of town and it’s easy to get there and back. Definitely would recommend staying here!!

Overall a great stay here, the staff is fun and outgoing and makes the place be very social. AC is good, and the amenities are fine. Your on the beach tour going to be hot regardless of where you stay. A weekend here is really fun and I would do it again. Enough people that you are never alone and it’s a good mix of younger people and older people wanting to have fun. Short walk away from town and a little isolated but I loved it. Love this place

Great place. Stayed there for 7 nights. Floor in the big dorm was a bit dusty / dirty. Some issues with a shuttle bus booked through the hostel, being very late to Guatamala, but overall I’m satisfied.

Très chouette endroit pour faire des rencontres. Un peu à l'écart de la ville mais 5min à pieds si on traverse la rivière (sur des cailloux). Activités organisées chaque jours !

Great stop for off the main strip. love the spot, great staff, but hard time trying to socialize with people here sadly.
