Hostel L'Ambassade Bretonne Vieux-Port

Location. Room was not clean, visible dirty and sticky bed linens, walls stained/had holes, air conditioner set at 19 not working/hot and humid in room, mold on floors and walls, towel rack fell out of wall hitting my foot/remained hanging out of wall, front staff apathetic. The worst were the bed bugs biting me at night, unable to sleep! Informed manager, Karen, but was told hotel was full and would have to wait until next day because cleaning staff had left for the day. Moved twice. Was unable to stay in room either night then I checked out and although was told the hotel was full, was never given a refund for the remaining 4 nights. My concerns were dismissed by the manager and she said this is what should be expected for a 3 star hotel. Wasted 2 days of a 6 day vacation with very little sleep dealing with this horrible living situation. Moved to another hotel which was clean, functional, and staff welcoming and kind - really turned around my stay in Marseille. Would urge you not to stay at Residhotel.

Ich konnte meine Reservierung aufgrund einer Zugverspätung nicht wahrnehmen. Ich hab dort oft genug angerufen und Mails hingeschickt und hab versucht, die Mitarbeiter zu erreichen und ihnen mitzuteilen, dass ich nicht komme. Ebenfalls wollte ich höflich drum bitten, mein Geld zurückzubekommen, da ich auf Zugverspätungen keinen Einfluss habe. Und 40€ für eine Nacht finde ich echt viel. Und dann auch noch für die Umstände…Bettwanzen, Schimmel, Kakerlaken… bucht lieber ein anderes Hostel

Bed bugs!!!! And very unsafe. There were random squatters sleeping on the couch. I got mauled by bed bugs and ended up getting very sick. Shame on Hostelworld for allowing a place known to have bed bugs as seen by other reviews to be placed on their app. I didn’t read reviews before coming and had no idea about it the bed bugs till I started to itch a few days later.

This place is an absolute nightmare ! Firstly found BED BUGS EVERYWHERE + other bugs. This place has NO RECEPTION, the code to the front door is the same as the bedroom door, ANYONE CAN COME IN. In the night a random man who clearly wasn’t staying there entered the room. I was TERRIFIED something bad was going to happen. Had to leave the hostel at 2h30 am. Though I was gonna die

Absolutely terrible. The photos are misleading, none of the locks work, and people opened our private room without permission. The place is infested with bedbugs — in the bed, floor, and walls. We couldn’t stay the night and left immediately. Hostelworld refused to help and told us to contact the manager, who never replied. This is a serious health and safety issue. Hostelworld shouldn’t list places like this.

Le mur de la salle de bain est rongé par des champignons et les cafards se promènent. Et le comble :un grouillement vivace de punaises de lits féroces. En quête d'un remboursement, nous nous sommes heurtées au caractère tout à fait irascible d'un membre du personnel. Ses mœurs étant aussi moyenâgeuse que son sens de l'hygiène, il a menacé d'appeler la police et nous a traité de clochardes. Une fois sorties, nous l'avons vu nous adresser un salut de la main ironique depuis sa tour de moisissure.

Kein richtiges Hostel. Man bekommt einen Code für die Tür und es gibt kein Personal. In den Zimmern gibt es Bettwanzen. Ich hab mich sehr unsicher gefühlt

It was awful, bedbugs, no secure lockers, hard to find the entrance, not well signed, no shower head stand, no internet, a man was smoking in the room all night and very uncomfortable atmosphere

DO NOT STAY HERE IF TOU VALUE YOUR LIFE. I’m not a dramatic person but there is a bed bug infestation, the sheets are ripped and stained, the whole place is disgusting and nothing is as advertised. I booked three nights but didn’t stay for even one. I talked to the owner about a refund and he physically dragged me out of the building. He is a disgusting and rude person and the hostel is intolerable. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I usually check the reviews but missed it for some reason this time. BED BUGS, no Wi-Fi, key to the room hanging on the door, clogged sinks, used sheets, lockers broken into. @hostelworld please ban this place

Bed bugs, cockroaches, no boiler paper, clogged sinks, people smoking in the rooms, just kinda gross in general 👎🏼 not bad for the price, but you’d probably be better off spending a few extra bucks for somewhere a bit nicer

DO NOT STAY HERE, RUNNNNNN. The staff follows no hygiene standards, everything is dirty: bathrooms, bed sheets, living rooms. I slept for 30 minutes in a bed and got bed bugs bites all over my neck. I than ran away in the middle of the night to another place. Not safe for women either.

why is hostel world listing this place, it does not meet health and hygiene standards. BED BUGS many timea, many reviews confimlrm its been a problem for many years, and the owner us aware but still rents it out. i requested a refund no apology and no refund. ilost 100 euros having ti wash, dry my clothes, find emergency accomodation elsewhere plus damage to my bags and clothes. So mad at hosteworld for listing this place...how it even has any stars is beyond me

It should be illegal for this place to be open. Bed bugs, filth, drugs, scary men running it that yelled at me when I asked for refund.

Ich bin am gebuchten Tag pünktlich im Hostel eingetroffen. Ich habe mir das Zimmer und die Wohnung angesehen. Es war nicht akzeptabel für mich, denn es war sehr schmutzig, die Betten hatten Bettwanzen, die Tür klemmte, so dass der Schlüssel stecken blieb. Im Schlafsaal habe ich mich nicht sicher gef., deshalb bin ich sofort wieder ausgereist. In der Beschreibung des Hostels hatte ich einen ganz anderen Eindruck. Hätte ich gewusst, in welchem Zustand das Hostel war, hätte ich es nie gebucht.

Terrible hostel! The room looked liked it has never been cleaned, ever! The bedsheets were not clean eather, and there were bedbugs - I have bites all over my body!!!! You could not lock, or ever close, the bathroom-door, and the sink was broken! Lastly - the security was also bad, the entrance-door was always open, and there were no lockers at the luggage storage.

Very dirty, bedbugs and insects everywhere. No pillows. I'm not sure if the bedsheets were clean. Door to the building was always open. Looking nothing like the photos. The internet connection unstable.

Location was great. The only thing good about the hostel. No running hot water, no air conditioning, bed bugs in all beds. Door doesn’t open or lock with the key. If nobody is in the apartment you will be unable to get inside
