we had a terrible experience in this hotel. The room 301 is freezing. we tried to ask for electric heater because the wind enter in the window frame of the aircondition. We asked at the reception and one from maintenance said that we open the aircondition but when he left we have the same condition until the second day. We sleep with heat tech, doible pants. swetchers and scarf on my head. I had terrible headache and cough . We change hotel but they did not gave refund.
I stayed here for a short trip and found the location great for a first-time visit to NYC. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and walkable distance. However, my room had a very noisy heater, which made it hard to sleep. I was also surprised to learn there was an extra charge to refrigerate my food unless I was staying longer, something I found disappointing. Overall the hotel could improve on customer service.
Von Außen alles gut. Ich hatte ein Zimmer mit einem Fenster zur Hauswandund konnte nicht geöffnet werden. Das Zimmer hatte null Tageslicht. Tagsüber hatte ich keine Lust mich auf dem Zimmer aufzuhalten. Es ist sehr hellhörig. Ich hatte einen Zimmernachbar, der die ganze Nacht den Fernseher laufen lassen hat. Am nächsten Abend bat ich die Rezeption diesen Bescheid zu geben. Es hat sich jedoch die ganze Woche nichts geändert. Es lag keine Decke sondern nur eine Tagesdecke hauch dünn vor.
From the outside everything was fine. I had a room with a window to the house wall that could not be opened. The room had zero daylight. During the day I didn't feel like staying in the room. It is very hellish. I had a neighbor who left the TV on all night. The next evening I asked the reception to give this information. However, nothing changed throughout the week. There was no ceiling but only a day ceiling like yesterday.
struttura molto datata. La finestra della mia camera non si chiudeva bene per cui rumore e arietta era inevitabile. L'arredamento vecchio e in alcune parti i muri erano sporchi. I bagni non erano così perfetti (specialmente le docce). L'ubicazione credo sia il punto a suo favore. Va bene per chi non vuole spendere troppo , ovviamente rinunciando a qualche punto sopraelencato.
The window of my camera did not close properly so noise and noise was inevitable. The old furniture and in some parts the walls were dirty. The bathrooms were not so perfect (especially the shower). The location I believe is the point in its favor.
Property is easy to find and in a good location with stores, bars and restaurants close by. Staff are great. Room is good size with a comfortable double bed. Hotel 17 oriented around people staying for longer than usual weekend, the room has a microwave, but sadly no kettle or coffee maker or fridge, which I think are obvious features required for longer stays. Having said that in Manhattan I don’t think you’re going to find better value accommodation
Very nice location. Quiet with descent amount space in your own room. Hallway and elevator seem old and dark though.
A great experience in terms of ease, accommodation and sense of security. The staff were very cheerful and helpful, the room and shared bathroom impeccable and all the other guests very quiet and respectful. I would've preferred a small refrigerator instead of a microwave/tv in the room, but I guess I can't have everything! Also, since the room is so small, the oil heater and fan (?) made the room extremely dry. But I was also glad for the warmth in frigid December!
Best Budget Hotel in NYC. The Location is incredible. you can go anywhere really fast. markets nearby. Union Square near by. Hotel rooms are Clean. no smells. bathrooms 2 per corridor, 4 per Floor, also Clean. Hotel is older but thats the charme it adds to a good NYC experience. workers really nice. the lift had problems, it Starts bouncing before stopping at your Floor, scary the First time, but now i Miss it. dont waste money on a modern hotel, this felt like a more original nyc experience. �...

Great stay. Perf location. Super vintage history. …but I got some sort of bites on my feet from I think possible fleas. I think it’s because I was walking to and from the bathroom barefoot as My partner didn’t get them and he walked in shoes . Only at the end of the stay though, was weird. But would recommend !!!

Very nice and clean! , my room had heat, and tv and an Ac unit inside !! A desk and like 5 outlets for charging station! They clean the bathrooms every day and have a fresh mat daily! , I definitely would book again !

The only problem I had during my stay was that the room key often stopped working, so I had to speak to someone to fix it. I always asked politely. However, the staff—especially during the night shift—were very rude and unwelcoming. I was not doing it on purpose, but they made me feel uncomfortable.
Honnêtement je ne suis pas sûr qu'il y ait un hôtel avec un meilleur rapport qualité prix. À part deux ou trois auberges de jeunesse avec des chambres doubles basiques nettement moins confortables, je n'ai rien trouvé de mieux dans Manhattan et en-dessous de Central Park. Les chambres sont propres, confortables. Les salles de bains communes sont bien entretenues. C'est une offre correcte et décente. Le métro est à deux pas et il y a plein de commerces à proximité. Honestly I'm not sure there's a hotel with better value for money. Apart from two or three hostels with significantly less comfortable basic double rooms, I haven't found anything better in Manhattan and below Central Park. The rooms are clean, comfortable. The common bathrooms are well maintained. It's a correct and decent offer. The subway is a few steps away and there are plenty of shops nearby. I highly recommend it.

Excellent location, excellent cleaning staff! Weak, almost u useable wifi, needed to go into hallway to connect. Felt safe, bathrooms and shower down hall always clean, we're not a problem.

I really liked my stay at hotel17. The location was great, I walked everywhere! Also, such an unexpected treat to have my own room at a budget price in NYC! It was quiet, the bed was comfy, and the towels were so fluffy and soft. There is a safe so i could lock away my valuables. The elevator was broken but the friendly staff helped me carry my bags up to the 5th floor so it wasnt a problem. One suggestion would be to have soap in the communal bathrooms, otherwise everything was great.

zwar ist das Gebäude & die Einrichtung etwas älter/leicht runter gekommen, aber die Bäder & Zimmer sind sehr sauber und das Personal ist immer freundlich & bemüht. Das Wlan ist leider sehr langsam.
Although the building & furnishings are a bit older/slightly come down, but the Bathrooms & Rooms are very clean and the staff is always friendly & attentive.
