Manuhie Backpackers Lodge

+ Location

- It was a horrible experience. I didn’t get the accommodation at the backpackers lodge, because apparently there was a meeting, which I didn’t see. They put me instead in a prison like block building, which was horrible. Internet wasn’t working at all. Then I went worse. The owner claimed that I hadn’t paid yet, but Booking.com said that I had yo pay before arrival. So I had to pay a second time. On booking it says that they would accept credit cards, which wasn’t true. So I couldn’t have a receipt from them that I paid a second time in case booking took already the money. They even tried to charge for the breakfast even if it was written that grnius breakfast was included. So lies, lies, lies. In the end I had to fight verbally very strong with one of their employees in order to get proof that I was paying them. So disgusted by this experience where everything went wrong.

- 預定時有早餐，但是跟本沒有為我準備！ 房間廁所門壞的，沒有熱水，水柱很小,蚊子很多，但有提供蚊帳，桌子都是灰塵，遇到2次停電

+ Personnel extrêmement sympathique et toujours disponible, endroit bien localisé et sécurisé

- Quelques équipements ne fonctionnent pas bien : pas de lumière dans la salle de bain, pas d'eau chaude, rideaux défectueux...

+ Location was good and staff were friendly and helpful.

- Guests can't use the kitchen which means this is NOT a backpackers place. I had to buy charcoal to cook my breakfast. Staff made it clear that use of kitchen was not allowed by the owner which was very disappointing. Rooms need shelves or hangers for clothes. Also there was no hot water. The electrical outlets need to be repaired.

+ I came from Mumbai to Addis Ababa, then took a bus from Addis to Bahir Dar. This hostel was a gem with the value you pay. I asked them to buy the return bus ticket, pick up to the bus station in the early morning and they happily did. The best part was they helped me get an excellent tour package of the Lake Tana and the Blue Niles Waterfall, with very good price for one day, as I was tight with my schedule. The tour went very well with excellent and safe vehicles (car and boat), great guides, and all important places. The room I got has a queen size bed, shower and toilet attached, with good privacy and cleanliness. I stayed two nights and will do it again when I have a chance.Please support this property as well as the Bahir Dar. They are waiting and very happy to serve you to the best of their abilities.
