Arugam Waves Hostel

Hostel owner is was wonderful, everything else was horrible. Regular power cuts, mold in the bathrooms and ants in my bed. Location in itself is great but very loud.

L ostello è basico, l’acqua della doccia e del bagno pizza molto di benzina! Situato sulla spiaggia che potrebbe essere un vantaggio ma quando fanno festa al bar one love non si dorme per la musica!

This hostel is fine but it only has 2 rooms so you have to be lucky with the people that are staying there at that moment. The atmosphere was not very social but the guy that worked there was really kind and the location is amazing

We had a really good time there. Met nice people and the staff we’re really nice too!!

The location is amazing, right on the beach, which is a huge plus. The downside was that the shower water had a smell and the overall cleanliness could have been better. That said, it’s a good option if you just need a place to sleep and don’t plan on spending much time inside.

The host is great and helps you organise excursions and has good advice. I booked surf lessons with Nilu who lives at the hostel and he was amazing! Lessons good value and great teacher. Overall spacious dorms with curtains, two bathrooms in the dorm. Only downside is could use an outdoor shower, and sometimes music from other bars was a bit loud. A great place to stay in A Bay.

Loved this spot! Less then a minute walk to the beach. Met amazing people, the owner is really helpful and creates a really nice energy for his guests. Rooms are nice and cool, and the bathrooms were the best i had during my travels. Right on the street so can get loud at night. But still recommend, hope to return one day

The hostel owner Chama is a very chilled and welcoming person. He really cares for his guests. He showed us the best places and food spots in and around arugam bay. Would definitely recommend :)

Chama is the goat. He looked after us so well for our stay in Arugam Bay. The hostel has the best location right on the beach behind one love beach bar which is the night out one of the nights of the week as well. Chama gave us loads of recommendations, played cards, came out with us and looked after us all night making sure we were safe and having fun. He is a lovely guy. 100% recommend this hostel. The bathrooms are just very hot.

The owner was one of the nicest people I have met and really made our stay in Arugam bay very special! The hostel had everything you could need and the best location. Would definitely recommend :)

Very good hostel with a great location! Especially the host made this stay a very nice experience.

This is an amazing location. Not the most social hostel but none in Sri Lanka seem to really be. Literally steps away from the beach. Not easy to find as not on google maps but go to the Thai restaurant Siam and walk through it and it’s behind.

Lovely, friendly hostel that is in an amazing location- literally a 30 second walk from the beds to the beach! Staff are super friendly and willing to help with any needs and give great recommendations. Rooms were clean and there were 2x toilets and shower per 8 bed dorm so waits were never too long. Would definitely recommend.

Really nice hostel, super close to the beach. Felt very safe and the host was super nice and always available. Highly recommend, specially if you to Arugam Bay for surfing, since it’s right in front of the beach.
