Run with love and no cooperate bullshit ◡̈ The bed bug problem is taken care off, the matraces are new, they solved it during the winter and you can enjoy your stay in Peace ;) It’s a individual place with Charme, no high end super clean and optimized instagram surface place- if you are looking for clean girl look and 5star hotel standarts thats not your place. If you are looking for cozy rooms, good talks in the garden and a amazing area for young people with alternative bars and small restaurants you are at the right place ♥️

Je suis revenu à Athens Quinta où je me sens toujours aussi bien. Le lieu est charmant et confortable ; le quartier est à mon avis l'un des plus vivant d'Athènes, mais l'emplacement de l'auberge est super calme, et à proximité de tout ; l'accueil est chaleureux et le sympathique personnel vous met tout de suite à l'aise ; le petit déjeuner, inclus, n'est pas ce que je préfère, mais ça va. Je précise que les gens qui parlent de punaises de lit sont bien médisants : il y a eu un problème en août 2025, mais il a été réglé par une société professionnelle en septembre je pense, car j'y suis retourné en octobre, novembre, et récemment en février et Mars. Aucun problème de punaises de lit. J'y retournerai en mai.

I used to love staying at this hostel but not since I got bitten severely by bedbugs. I discretely informed the stuff, they said they would look into it, which apparently (from comments), they never did. Not even an apology was made -let alone a refund. So disappointing….Other than the bug infestation the place is unkempt and unclean. Not recommended.

Stayed here a year ago, really liked the vibe before so decided to return here when visiting Athens, spent 5 nights here this time, and to be fair - now I didn’t like it here that much. Btw only on last day I saw reviews about bed bugs, well didn’t see any and had no bites, so maybe it’s fixed? But this issue can be the reason that hostel is basically empty all this time, and was very full a year ago at that time… Main issue - there is a line where old-school furniture and style turns into some form of just being unkempt, and this hostel is crossing jt basically. Some lockers are basically not locking themselves, entrance door doesn’t close itself if you don’t pull it enough (like several times when i returned from a walk I realized door is not locked…), courtyard in such a shape that you don’t wanna sit there. There is no shower spray hold in the shower and seat is missing in a toilet. So you see, a lot of stuff is just unkempt. Then 95% of the time there is nobody from administration in hostel, you are by yourself, didn’t like that, also they don’t answer the messages at all basically. It seems they visit once a day for an hour or two and that’s it heh. Then internet - I don’t understand how can it be this bad in 2025, borderline unusable very often, will attach the abysmal speedtest photo. Breakfast is just a word here - nothing fresh is provided, basically only some old crackers, cereal and cheap coffee thing to brew it. Never even had the desire to eat anything there… Linens are quite old, you can feel it. Beds are also not modern in any sense, the cheapest two-layered bed you can imagine. The style and vibes are still here, but it’s like owners started to give up on keeping it in a good shape, and that’s a shame. I hope it will become better, coz now it’s kinda downhill it seems. Owners pls start to keep it together aight?

ja was soll man sagen, bettwanzen .. problem besteht noch immer.. unverantwortlich hier leute schlafen zu lassen hatte mich schon gewundert warum man unsere Bettwäsche täglich wechselt. aber damit möchte man wohl verhindern dass die Leute die Blutflecken in den lacken sehen die durch die bisse entstehen

All over my body, neck both hands, wrists, arms, legs, feet, shoulders and chest, stomach and back. Horrible pain. What is disgusting is that the hostel and its staff fully know of this BED BUG INFESTATION but ignore and do nothing and continue to put health of guests in danger.

BEWARE: BED BUGS!! This hostel is super cute and cozy. I was super excited to stay here, but was quickly let down. Breakfast is pretty much non-existent. Bedding had holes in it, they were like rags. My friend and I got bed bugs staying here. :( The staff pretended they had never had this issue before and were not very helpful or responsive. They wouldn't give us a refund or any compensation. We had to spend so much money and time washing our clothes and had to relocate to a new accommodation. Based on all of the reviews, they clearly have a major bed bug problem and are ignoring it. So disgusting!!

On vous laissera dormir dans des PUNAISES DE LIT en toute connaissance de cause ! Des mois qu'ils en ont, que des clients partent au milieu de la nuit ou de leur séjour. On vous laissera plonger dans ces chambres infestées de punaises de lit en attendant de voir si vous allez vous en apercevoir. Si vous vous vous en apercevez, vous irez vous plaindre auprès de l'hôtel qui vous répondra "oui on sait" et ils vous rembourseront, comme si tout était normal. Et ils reprépareront la chambre sous vos yeux pour des prochains clients. Pour vous rembourser ils annuleront votre réservation sur Booking.com ce qui vous empêchera de le signaler à la plateforme et vous empêche ainsi de mettre un commentaire pour avertir les prochaines personnes (puisque en annulant votre réservation, Booking considère que vous n'avez pas séjourné et donc vous empêche de commenter). En vous rembourssant ils achètent le silence du mauvais commentaire. Ainsi quasiment aucune personne n'arrive à faire remonter ce problème sanitaire sur booking.com, là où passent pourtant la quasi-totalité de leurs clients. Shame a cet hôtel et aussi à Booking qui protège avant tout les établissements. N'hésitez pas à vous plaindre auprès du service client Booking aussi.

DO NOT STAY. THERE IS A BED BUG INFESTATION. We arrived and got settled in before spotting there were bed bugs all through our bed! When we told the staff member she didn't seem surprised. Luckily we realised before staying the night and got the hell out of there. To be fair the staff member gave us a refund but overall it was an awful experience and we had to move to a different hotel. Which was around the same price and much much nicer.

Do not stay here, there are bed bugs. We were lucky and noticed before we unpacked and were able to get a refund and move to another hotel. The staff member was helpful in organising a refund, however she did not seem surprised that there were bedbugs in the first place.

‼️‼️‼️BED BUGS‼️‼️‼️ Absolutely unacceptable. This place is infested with bedbugs, and the manager knows it but still rents out the rooms. We had booked two nights, but just before going to sleep we spotted a bedbug. We ended up spending the whole night outside on the terrace, waiting until 9am the next morning for someone from the staff to finally show up. The manager stopped answering my calls, but she did pick up the phone when her own staff called her. We had to wash all of our belongings at the laundry next door and demanded a refund for both nights plus the laundry costs. The manager showed zero understanding of the physical and psychological impact of such a situation. When I asked why she dared let us stay in that room, her answer was: ‘Well, I didn’t see any in this room, so for me it’s fine.’ I told her that even if someone paid her, she wouldn’t sleep there herself. She had no response. This is pure bad faith, irresponsibility, and a shocking lack of professionalism — not to mention empathy. Bedbugs are a global health issue, but how one chooses to deal with them is a matter of responsibility. Sadly, this manager and her team are completely unwilling to take the problem seriously, and yet they keep letting guests sleep in these conditions. Let her spend one night in her own hotel and get bitten, I’m sure she wouldn’t be saying the same thing then.

PUNAISES DE LIT - BEDBUGS ⚠️depuis des mois (on aurait dû lire les avis avant). La personne à l'accueil et la direction du lieu laissent les clients s'installer dans des chambres contaminées en pleine connaissance de cause. Incroyable. Ils savent et font preuvent d'un très grand amateurisme quant à la gestion de ce problème. Quand vous vous apercevrez du problème et que vous le signalé à 3h du matin on vous répond "oui on sait désolé mais on sait pas quoi faire on avait pourtant traité". Ils affichent comme fièrement à l'entrée sur le coins d'un meuble des certificats de traitement (donc c'est bien clair qu'ils savent) mais continue de faire dormir des gens dans des lit surinfectés malgré le signalement quotidien des clients. Il suffit de soulever le drap, le protege matelas est tellement usé et sale qu'il se désintègre en morceaux, le matelas est souillé de tâches et d'aureole de toute sorte et surtout d'excréments de punaises de lit. Il y a clairement un problème d'hygiene dans cet établissement qui participe à la prolifération des punaises de lit. Et penser qu'avoir vaporiser de l'insecteiside sans changer cette literie immonde est d' une grande ignorance ou d'une lâcheté irresponsable. Dans les deux cas ce lieu n'est pas à mesure d'accueillir des gens. Dangereux, honteux. À fuir, à éviter , à signaler.

Punaises de lit dans l'ensemble des chambres, nous avons tous été piqués, devant laver et désinfecter l'ensemble de nos affaires au petit matin. L'équipe de l'auberge a été informé la veille, mais ne nous as pas prévenus du risque sanitaire. Un manque total de professionnalisme et de considération pour ses clients et le reste de la profession. A noter, la gérante a accepté de nous rembourser intégralement le séjour, afin de couvrir nos frais supplémentaire de nettoyage et médicaux, que nous avons dû débourser.

PUNAISES DE LIT : nous avons été piqués par des punaises de lit, au vu des commentaires précédents, il est évident que le personnel est au courant et ne prend aucune mesure. Ils ont acceptés de nous rembourser intégralement nos 2 nuits. Il semble encore possible de réserver dans l’auberge, ce qui est scandaleux.

Awful bed bugs and the staff are completely apathetic towards the issue. I have contacted them multiple times about it with no response, meanwhile I am covered in swollen, red welts. This complete and total disregard for health as safety is shameful and made our time in Athens unpleasant. As other reviewers are saying, in addition to the infestation, breakfast is shabby, the beds are rickety, and the staff are vapid, rarely present, and inefficient. Unsurprisingly, they responded to none of the emails I sent them about our check in time or their pest problem, but were very quick to email me demanding I pay (we had “checked in” as soon as they opened its 9 in the morning, but apparently the appropriate staff member to process payment was not present and would not be except between noon and 7:30pm, so we carried on with our day).

Cool vibe, ok location, but they have abysmal bed bugs, no air conditioning, and rarely any staff onsite. I found and killed three bed bugs in my bed, and was covered in bites within 10 minutes. Emailed the staff as there was no one in the building (10:30pm), and still have received no response. Shameful apathy to such an appalling hygiene issue. There is also no shower head support, you have to hold it while you wash. The rooms were swelteringly hot and uncomfortable, very rickety bunk beds. Breakfast is also pretty shabby; some plain toast, yoghurt, cereal and boiled eggs. At least it’s cheap, but barely worth it even at that price.

BEWARE: Bed Bugs!! Athens Quinta is a really quaint hostel, located just outside the city center. It's in an area that was safe, though looked a little rough. The building is a lovely little house with a nice patio and bohemian aesthetic. My and my friend had a private room with two beds. It was very basic, but dingy- the sheets and bedding had holes in them. After our second night, my travel companion woke up covered in bed bugs bites!! YUCK! We reached out to the property, who weren't very helpful. They

BED BUGS!!!!!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE! I woke up to bed bugs on the bed, I got bitten, they got in my bag and clothes. When I told the staff the cleaning lady changed the sheets. No action was taken to get rid of the bugs. There are reviews from as far back as last year about bed bugs and they have clearly done nothing to fix the issue. The staff didn't seem to care and refused to give me a refund. They say they do a disinfection every two weeks but that won't get rid of bed bugs! Horrible place, BEWARE!!! I wo

We left with bed bugs :/ we did not read the reviews and now have to clean all of our stuff. Besides that it was a quiet place. The WIFI was not good either. Hosts were really nice and they gave us a magnet for our stay!

DO NOT STAY HERE. I repeat do not!!!! I arrived for my stay with the understanding the bed bugs were removed, they were not and still are not. My bunk mate had bites all over his body, when I departed and asked for a refund for the next couple nights I had already booked they were un cooperative, difficult to manage, did not respond to emails despite me already having bites and having to re organize my trip to accommodate the impact. The bed bugs are NOT gone, and if it isn’t the bites it’s the chemical smells that is littered through the hostel. Another note is the breakfast is not what you think it is barely a breakfast.

Er waren bedwantsen wat heel jammer is want de vrouw van de receptie was erg vriendelijk en het zag er allemaal leuk uit. Het was wel een beetje viezig en er waren dus bedwantsen…we zijn meteen vertrokken en ze zei dat we via booking.com ons geld terug kunnen vragen. Gelukkig hadden we het bed gecheckt.

Bed Bugs and no kind of cooperation for refund! After my first night, we noticed that there were bed bugs in my room. The staff was nice, but really uncooperative. I booked many days and tried to agree on a refund of some kind, because I needed to book a different hostel now, but nothing was happening. They even removed their door bell now. apart from that: The beds are just regular bunk beds that offer no kind of privacy, I would highly recommend booking a more modern and much cleaner hostel like "When in athens"(10/10) or "retroverse"(9/10)

BETTWANZEN!!!! Leider die nächste Bewertung zu Bettwanzen. Wir haben mehrmals versucht eine Entschädigung zu beantragen, sind aber nicht ernst genommen worden. Anscheinend werden die Räume regelmäßig desinfiziert, was aber für Bettwanzen nicht ausreicht. Keinerlei Verständnis von der Leitung des Hostel oder Entgegenkommen, auch für die Kosten der Reinigung. Wir hatte dort vier Nächte Ende April gebucht und haben jetzt einen Monat später immer noch keine Entschädigung erhalten. Man findet Bettwanzen, ihr Hüllen und ihren Kot auf den Matratzen und nach zwei nächsten dort hatte ich extrem viele Stiche!!!!

Absolutely Disgusting – Stay Away! Checked in around 11 PM. Drug addict sitting at the entrance, openly using drugs. No security, no staff. Room had a spider on the blanket, and by 2 AM I realized I was being bitten by bed bugs. Found them crawling in the bed. No front desk available. I left the hotel at 3 AM and never looked back. DO NOT stay here – unsafe, filthy, and completely unprofessional.

The Quinta hostel was a good place to spend our last few days in Athens. The atmosphere was quiet, the breakfast was good, and the location was close to the National Archaeological Museum so it was easy to navigate. However, after coming home, we realized that one of us, not all of us, had bed bug bites. So, the cleanliness got a low star rating. The rest was good for the price.

Lieu infesté par les punaises de lit. Un des clients m’a dit qu’il y en avait dans une chambre. J’ai donc demandé à la fille de la réception qui a nié en bloc, j’ai insisté pour changer de lit la deuxième nuit. En arrivant pas à dormir à cause d’un moustique j’allume ma lampe pour découvrir pas moins de 5 punaises qui se promenaient sur le mur à côté de ma tête !!

We stayed at the hostel on May 10, there were BED BUGS in our room ( 6 bed mixed dorm), we had a terribly night. The location is nice.

I stayed here for 3 nights, most of the time I really liked staying here. But, on the last day, I was gone all day to go to an island. When I returned at about 9:00 at night, I went into the room to find a sleeping man in my bed. All of my things had been moved and put all over the room. Like not even all my stuff in one bed. BETTWANZEN!!! Hatte vor 2 Tage im Hostel zu übernachten, habe es jedoch abgebrochen weil es Bettwanzen gab. Wegen den Umständen wollte ich eine Entschädigung für die 2 Tage jedoch hatten sie dafür auch kein Verständnis und haben mir keinerlei Entschädigung dafür gegeben

Es gab Bettwanzen im Zimmer und habe mehrmals emails geschrieben ich eine Entschädigung will jedoch ohne Erfolg. Sie haben mir nicht auf die email geantwortet weshalb ich einen Stern gebe!

The place is very nice and pretty. Unfortunately we had bed bugs, but the employees gave us the money back for the night we didn’t stay there anymore. There were also dead bed bugs on the floor… Breakfast is okay, but for the price it's good. The location is very lovely, there are a lot of cafes and bars!

Do not go here if you don't like bedbugs.

Great place. Nice people. Nice decor. But.... BED BUGS!! We were there a week ago, and had a good time at the hostel. But around the last day and after we got back, I started having weird bite marks over my body. After investigation, I firmly believe they're bed bug bites (especially since they take 1-7 days to show up after being bit). And I possibly brought them back and am loosing money, time and mental peace over this. I lived in the 6 people dorm room on the left side. And slept on the upper bunk bed next to the door. If you stay there thoroughly check for bed bugs and I ask the hostel to do a full investigation and extermination in said room.

Fantastic hostel unfortunately currently going through bed bug infestation. Hostel was great location easy early check in great breakfast included. Sadly our full room were being bitten by what we think must be bed bugs. The staff reassured us things were clean and clear but we continued to be bitten. No refunds were offered and it didn’t feel like the issue was taken seriously but if they get that under control the hostel is otherwise ideal!

The personal is nice, I came late in the evening when the reception was already closed but they sent me an email with all the instructions. Also they stuck a paper with instructions on my bedroom's door to find my bed easy. The breakfast is also cool and includes dairy products, fruits, toasts and jams, peanut cream and tahini so even if you're vegetarian or vegan you have some options. However I found bedbugs in my first bed... But they put me in a new one and since then everything was great

Got bed bugs here - emailed them to let them know but they seemed quite in denial. Atmosphere seemed suited to an older crowd. Loved the location though
