Meramees Hostel

I felt really uncomfortable, there were always some kids around and the hosts were a bit weird.

On demande un logement pour deux sur l'application, ça nous propose une chambre avec lit double dans cet hôtel. En arrivant, on nous dit que c'est pour une personne et que si nous sommes deux nous devons payer plus cher. Nous ne sommes donc restés que 2 nuits au lieu de 4. L'intérieur de l'immeuble est immonde (c'est normal pour Le Caire), mais la chambre était pas mal et le petit dej aussi.

We are family of 4 with 2 kids below 12 years old. Based on the online review and good rating of Meramees Hostel, we booked for 4 nights stay. - clean room and average receptionist, convenient location in down town area. - Seldom see anyone, very small cozy balcony in the hall, unsecured feelings that anyone can just enter the building anytime; worst, painting in the corridor during our last day makes our room with no windows so dusty.

Awful room and bathroom facilities, mostly broken. Shower has zero water pressure. No sidelight or working power outlets in private room. Only a horrible fluorescent light. Breakfast was decent and staff were friendly

For the money it was ok but my real issue was having 2 of my t shirts ruined during the laundry service they offer. At first the man at reception acted like it wasn’t them and wasn’t their problem then later I got a message saying they would refund me the £2 it cost for laundry. I mentioned buying 2 new t shirts would cost much more than that but got no reply. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

Great service, no social scene. They make everyone leave a 10/10 when they leave so it inflates their reviews. I wouldnt stay here again because of the street noise.

The only positive point of this hostel is the staff, all very attentive, especially Mustafa. Horrible building, very old and precarious situation. Terrible experience.

THE RATINGS OF THIS HOSTEL ARE FAKE!!! Honestly only positive thing was the breakfast - it was amazing. However the security was very lacking aka anyone could walk in and walk to your room no keys or doorman. Also at the end of my stay the owner forced me to leave a review before leaving which is why this hostel is rated so high. Overall will never be going back.

The hostel is quite empty. I would not recommend for solo travel girls. The description of the hostel says: no Arabic and Egyptian male in the dorms, however in my case that happened. Unfortunately I wouldnt come back there, but the location is very central and the free breakfast was also good.

Be warned! I stayed in a mixed dorm (private rooms seemed nicer?) Street was sketchy, building was dirty, dorm room was huge & awkwardly laid out with zero privacy-with a big broken window opening to the street all night! Breakfast was great to be fair. Staff was cold. It seemed like this used to be a great place but neglected now...too bad.

Mi estancia estuvo espectacular. La atencion es maravillosa, muy bien ubicado, el desayuno es delicioso, me senti seguro y como en casa.Lo recomiendo.

It's a very clean and well organized hostel! The staff was very helpful, the bed was very comfortable and it was in a very good and convenient location near the city area. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a hostel in cairo where you can have a good rest

I've had a great stay at Meramees Hostel. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the dorm room is very spacious and comfortable. The free breakfast is nice, and the community area is very comfortable and inviting for travellers to meet each other. I'll stay here again the next time I come to Cairo. :)

Such a lovey place, very hospitable staff, absolutely gorgeous room, would 100% recommend to anyone either solo, or group travelling Egypt, or simply wanting to visit Cairo. When I first got here, the lovely staff invited me to watch the football with them, had a great time and they’re very welcoming and interested in making you feel at home. The hostel was excellent value for money. The rooms were spacious and very clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We booked a trip to the pyramids and the National Museum through them, and our guide, Abdallah, was kind and patient throughout. Mostafa also went out of his way to help us buy scarves for visiting the mosques, which he really didn’t have to do but kindly did anyway. We would definitely come back!!

Muy buen lugar para hospedarse y super céntrico, esta en el centro de El Cairo, es el quinto piso y cuenta con ascensor. Me incluyo un desayuno muy apetitoso y grande, suficiente para durar el trajin del día.

We really liked this hostel. We booked a 3-bed room with ensuite for 3 nights and it was clean and the beds were great. The breakfast was large and delicious. Unfortunately many mosquitos got into our room somehow and every day we woke up with more bug bites!

In total, it was quite a nice experience to stay in meramees hostel. The crew there were friendly and helpful, replying also immediately to our emails, which was also verty nice....

All of the staff members were really kind and helped me with my stay in Cairo and even gave me tips for other places in Egypt! :)

Amazing stay! Very chilled atmosphere in the heart of the city. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive.

I am very happy I stayed here! The staff were genuinely very helpful and kind. The free breakfast is large and filling. I stayed in the deluxe private room and it was very comfortable and quiet.

Alles war super! Duschen könnten einwenig stabiler sein.

I recommend Merames Hostel. Besides its central location, which provides easy access to everything, it's safe, has CCTV in common areas, lockers in the rooms, is clean, and offers a delicious breakfast. It has a friendly atmosphere, and the staff is incredibly helpful, especially Mostafa, who is always happy to offer advice and help arrange transportation if needed. You can even leave your luggage for a few days. I highly recommend this place.

Was a very good stay, everything was clean and simple. Breakfast was lovely. There wasn’t a ‘community’ atmosphere with other guests but the location is perfect and bed was comfortable

Excellent hostel! Very happy with me stay. It does exactly what you need. As a solo traveller who values peace/privacy, finding a cheap solo bedroom in the heart of downtown was fantastic!
