Blablabla' Bari

Probably the worst Hostel I’ve been to in the past 2 months. There were bed bugs and the entire place was dirty. The owner left a half smoke cigarette in the bathroom, and it smelt horrible throughout the entire place. There was no social aspect, and there was active construction going on outside my room. No outlets next to the beds just an extension cord in the corner of the room. Overall this hostel was awful and I’ve stayed in much nicer ones for way less money. Would HIGHLY not recommend.

Owner was quite nice with a good sense of humour but hostel is BAD! The pro: close to station Cons: It's like someones old and over cluttered house or a storage garage. Theres no light or charging socket near the beds, only one extension cable in the corner. Has had a bed bug issue so owner gave me a plastic bag to out around my bag. Only 2 shours, one had no hot water and the other had no pressure so watere dribblex out. No AC so windows are kept open you hear all the traffic

super close to station, and also extremely loud with cars and trains passing by at all hours. very thin mattress on bed, can feel the frame underneath. only one shower I found to work but it was ok. kitchen has basics you need. towels provided, host is nice and also offered plastic bags to keep luggage in to prevent any bed bug spread

The good thing was the location, it was 5' from the train station and 10' from the bus station. They also let you leave your suitcases free The bad thing, the location. You can hear the trains passing by and the cars, so it's hard to sleep. The suitcases are free because check-in is at 6 pm. Unusual. You can tell that it is an apartment made 'Hostel'. The mattresses are thin, the beds make noise. I've seen him complain about bed bugs, I've killed one. There is an accumulation of objects.

I’ve travelled a lot, and I’ve never left a negative review, but this time I have to – I’ve never come across a hostel quite like this one. A grubby, very cramped hostel, I was eaten alive by bedbugs during the night, and they must have laid eggs in my bag too, as 10 days later I was infested with nymphs… Francesco is taking the problem lightly; the treatments are merely a stopgap for a deeper-rooted problem.

Wir haben uns zu Beginn ziemlich sicher gefühlt! Der Aufenthalt war gut und alles schien okay zu sein! Francesco ist sehr höflich und hat uns schöne Spots in Bari gezeigt(auf seinem Laptop) Das war sehr aufmerksam und es waren wirklich schöne Erinnerungen. Im Nachhinein aber hätte ich ohne zu zögern ein anderes Hostel buchen… Denn das Bettwanzenproblem des Hostels wurde uns verschwiegen! Also lieber Francesco es war wirklich nett aber hätten wir das im Vorhinein gewusst wär uns einiges ersparrt geblieben..😕

The place is good but the bathroom is really dirty. We also found bed bugs in our bed, the owner know about it but don’t want to close his place to manage it. It’s really irresponsible. We leave the place for another one and didn’t get back all of our money. It’s really sad and not professional.

There are bed bugs, I recommend the owner to get rid of all the useless objects he has in order to clean the space.

Horrible! BED BUGS! Saw them crawling on the wall. The bathrooms were incredibly dirty and full of rubbish (tooth brushes, razors, callus shavers, hair,…) Kitchen also absolut mess and dirty. The train is super loud, good sleep not possible. There is no way to really close the door to the rooms and the lockers were all full when I arrived. I didn’t feel safe. Francesco asks young women (guests) to clean the apartment so they don’t have to pay rent. GET AN EXTERMINATOR AND CLEANING STAFF!!!

When I first arrived was sceptical of the situation as it is an old apartment changed into a hostel. Fran is super kind, funny and an interesting man. I had experience with bed bugs and told Fran he was very understanding and informed me he has chemical spray to fix this problem. Further travels keep your clothes separate from bed space if possible. He offered to chemically clean my clothes and wash a refund for one night . Overall great to socialise and cool experience bedsides the bed bugs.

Cette hostel est horrible. Le monsieur qui s’occupe de l’hostel fume à l’intérieur et y vit. Sa chambre se trouve juste à côté de celle des filles et y entre plusieurs fois autant dans la journée que dans la nuit sans prévenir. Nos valises étaient placées à l’extérieur de la chambre et dans des sacs plastiques pour « éviter les insectes ». Je suis partie avant la fin de mon séjour parce que je me suis retrouvée avec des piqûres de punaises de lit. Eau chaude dans une seule douche et moisissures.

Think I got bed bugs here, I’m not usually one to write reviews but if cleanliness is at all a priority I would forgo this spot. It normally doesn’t bother me but staying here for 2 days ruined a whole week of my trip.

The place in general is horrible. Already on the first night my friend and I saw bed bugs. The bathrooms were VERY DIRTY and in one shower it took maybe 5 minutes to get hot water. It smelled really bad because the owner smokes inside. The overall atmosphere there was oppressive. We didn't feel safe there.

It's a hostel, not hotel. good vibes, Franz Is incredibile. 10/10, suggested.

Personally didn’t technically have issues at this hostel but the overall vibes and cleanliness are just not great, can see a lot of things going bad in the area with absolutely zero security owners a bit strange about bed bugs personally didn’t encounter any thankfully but the building definitely has had them. VERY dirty and I’m not a fussy person, also owners and long term guests smoke inside which didn’t particularly bother me but the smell was pretty bad.

Upon arrival, it smelled like cigarettes and looked unclean. The check-in was in the hosts bedroom. Franz (the host) was nice, but the property was very odd. I was asked to put my suitcase in a large plastic bag in case of “animals”, which I later found out to mean bed bugs. On the second night, the girls in my room did find bed bugs on the two bottom bunks. Only one bathroom had hot water and you couldn’t even flush ANYTHING down the toilet. Would not recommend.

As a 6 foot 2 18 year old male, who for the most part feels extremely safe, this had a weird atmosphere from the get go. When I arrived I was forced to put my bag inside a plastic bin bags "to protect it from animals" (owner was very on edge whilst explaining this) which I learnt to be bed bugs. I stayed only an hour at this hostel, before rebooking at another hostel in Bari. That's how little I enjoyed the cleanliness and lack of a welcoming atmosphere. As a solo female traveller, this felt incredibly unsafe ans sketchy. No locks on the doors, nothing to store the luggage and the owners request to put plastic bags over the luggage because of bed bugs. The owner smokes (and apparently also lives) inside the hostel, so it smelled like smoke. To go out you have to request a key for the buildings front door and give it back on return.

I now have bed bugs! We had to pack our luggage in plastic bags and store it in a separate room and were not allowed to take it to our rooms. Despite this, I still ended up with bed bugs. It smells of smoke everywhere and checking in after 10 p.m. costs extra.

This place must be closed. Same vibe as Clyde Hostel. BEDBUGS, Homeless people around. CLOSE IT!

Owner will make you put your bags in plastic and store them in a different room to stop bed bugs. Doesn’t seem to be working, however. On top of that, he’s incredibly uncomfortable to be around and we caught him entering our room during the night. Would strongly advise against staying here.

Staff are characteristic and interesting. Check in at 6?, is abit mental for a hostel. Facilities were clean and adequate. I did get bitten by bed bugs so theres a cleanliness issue there. But its a 20€ hostel. The cheapest around by far. For the two nights I spent there, I feel as though that was more than enough!

If you like to live in a terror film, i recomend this terrible place very Dirty and with very bad energy. The owner They force you to put your backpack in plastic bags because of "the insects you can bring from outside" and my 2 roommates were bitten by 2 bed bugs.

The hostel was dirty, I tried to cook and had to rewash all the dishes. I got a drink and left it in the fridge, it was drank from the next day. The hostel owner is strangely political and has very questionable views that he tells you about. He warned of bed bugs previously and then after we left I saw someone comment that they got bed bugs(luckily we didn't). You should shut down a hostel because of that. There was absolutely no privacy and I don't think that the owner should be able host.

Hostal en condiciones malas, los baños sucisimos, las bañeras tenian manchas del paleotico por lo menos, chinches en los colchones y el dueño como excusa dice que lo traemos en las maletas y nos manda meterlas en bolsa de basura, desordenado, sin intimidad ya que el dueño entra y sale cuando quiere de las habitaciones, es una mala eleccion, la gente cuando llega fse queda asustado. No lo recomiendo en absoluto.

We wanted to sleep at the Hostel for two nights but decided to leave after one. At the Check-in the owner of the Hostel told us the only man he could stand behind was Putin which already left us confused. When we came back in the evening there was pure chaos!
