La Hamaca Hostel - Utila

New owner came and destroyed the place. Absolutely disgusting. Hotter inside than it was outside, roaches everywhere. Heard other people talking about bed bugs. Wish I didn't stay at this place.

After reading some of the reviews I was skeptical to book, but I did anyway. I’m not hard to please, so in my honest opinion, this hostel really is not that bad. The staff were nice and professional, check-in was quick and easy. I stayed for 5 days and everyday someone came in to clean up. It would be great if they had a kitchen, but at least there’s a restaurant on site. The stay would’ve been perfect, but I unfortunately got devoured by bed bugs really bad. Hopefully they fix this issue.

The son of one of the employees goes in the dorm and steals stuff. When I complained about it the staff told me that I’d better pay for a private room there. Bedbugs everywhere, no hot water neither electricity. Complete rip-off. Don’t stay here.
