Surf Inn Boutique Backpackers - Surfers Paradise

Swarming with bed bugs & it was reported two weeks before I reported it, none of the proper procedures were carried out like isolating the room as they told us to take all our stuff out & then they just vacuumed and sprayed it & we were all back in within 4 hours! If I could post photos I would. Also the reason there are good reviews is cos they ask you there and then to leave one and you get a free coffee. Only good thing about this place is the other guests and the rep Jack is a vibe.

First of all our door into our room was broken- didn’t shut so that was a security issue. Then the rooms were dirty and beds apparently had bed bugs. The bathroom is also shared between two rooms and there isn’t enough toilets, and the showers don’t lock. Overall staff were nice but wouldn’t stay again.

Bed bugs verhaal deed me toch extra opletten op de hygiene. Douches waren erg vies, ook het bed voelde niet prettig. Personeel wel heel vriendelijk, goede locatie

a nice hostel with great staff, facilities and party vibe, the kitchen was being renovated when i visited but im not sure it will be for guests to self cater of not, all the rooms had aircon and the palce was pretty clean, the only issue i had was that im 95% sure i found a bed bug in my room, when i showed the picture to management they were very helpful and allowed me to move rooms and wash all my belongings for free

El alojamiento está muy bien ubicado, en el corazón de Surfers Paradise; sin embargo, el costo es muy elevado para lo que ofrecen: habitaciones con sólo camarotes, no hay cortinillas por cama ni tampoco cajones o lockers para poder guardar las maletas. En las 2 habitaciones que estuve había problema de ácaros de cama (chinches) que picaban en medio de la noche. No cuenta con cocina compartida, pero acaban de implementar un menú de Brunch y Lunch. Lo recomiendo muy poco

Property seemed to be clean upon arrival, didn’t have any facilities for backpacking really. Rooms had own locks on doors but the bathrooms lead into other dorms no lockers available. Located in a convenient place near the coach station and short walk to the beach. The main downside to the stay was the bed bugs. I am completely covered in bites I think the fact the staff didn’t really seem to care and just told me that they would itch for a few days and wouldn’t refund other guests in our room who had to leave early due to the bugs (I wish I left too as I’m covered) I was able to change beds in the same room but unfortunately the bed bugs seemed to be in the whole room. Little disappointing as the hostel has good potential

BED BUGS! Do not stay here! Our room was infested with bed bugs in multiple beds, when we spoke to the owner who was very rude and said if we were bitten we would only be itchy for a week and it’s not a big deal, he also then refused to give us a refund for our last night! After our decision to leave we felt rushed out of the hostel as we were told to not tell anybody else so word didn’t get around which I didn’t agree with as felt people in our room needed to all know and be moved! The bathrooms were very dirty. Other guests had said they had seen a bed bug spray around the hostel then when I asked to use it before we left we got told there was no such thing! Key on your phone to get in rooms but also joining bathrooms to other dorms so anyone can come in which didn’t feel safe

Awful experience, treated us like sh*t very unclean facility with bed bugs and management was entitled and childish. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Dirty bed bugs! Kitchen where pigeons could get inside and p** on the surfaces! Mould and flies in the bathroom/shower. Window looked straight into the toilet and shower room from communal area. Clean all this up
