First Hostel Bucharest

DON’T SLEEP HERE: BED BUGS!!! Multiple rooms had bed bugs. The hostel was also dirty overall. The manager accused us of placing the bed bugs in the hostel ourselves. We had no other place to sleep, so of course this wasn’t true.

Yiiiiiiikes do NOT go to this hostel. Where to start? There are blood stains on the mattresses, and one member of the group we stayed with found pubes aswell. The hostel is unsanitary overall, there were dead flies in the window too. The cherry on top was the horrendous amount of bedbugs that were found in two of the rooms our group booked. When we told the staff about this we were told that 'we had brought the bedbugs with us ourselves', even though we only stayed in the hostel for 5 minutes before deciding it was too gross to stay. Incredibly rude staff, creepy men who are staying at the hostel and terrible hygiene.

The worst. Loads of bedbugs, dirty matresses, dirty bathrooms. Gross. Please dont go here.

Feels like there is never anyone working. If the main gate is closed it’s almost impossible to get inside to check and get to reception. Also, very hard to meet people, very dead most of the time. I woke up with bite marks all over which has to be bed bugs and I looked all over the bed and couldn’t find anything. Overall, you get what you pay for but if you’re looking for a better atmosphere and somewhere a little cleaner it’s worth paying a little bit more money for a different place.

Very rarely do I give bad reviews. I have found bed bugs in my room, now reading through the reviews looks like this is an ongoing issue. The reception seemed quite indifferent to it. Also be wary of leaving your bicycle in the yard, even though it's secured with a code and only hostel guests can come in, all the bicycle tires were punctured. Not only my bicycle but everyone else also.

I had to take away one star because I found a bedbug in my dorm which I prompted killed and informed to Adrian as well as my booking agent. I still give 4* because of the actions they took once notified to clear the issue from the room through closing and a destruction process to get rid of them - and also they did try and put the situation right for me as well by refunding my booking. Check in process was straight forward, beds would have been perfectly comfortable otherwise and all communication with me personally was positive and supportive - this was really appreciated as I was a little shaken by the discovery. We stayes there for two nights with my friends. On the second night one of us woke up in the middle of the night covered with bed bugs bites. We saw bugs crawling on the mattresses and walls. In the morning, a guy in the dorm next to us showed us his bites. After providing us a steamer to treat our stuff, the landlord threatened us to make us pay for thé cancellation due to the bugs, and accusing us to have brought them ourselves, though différent Google reviews mentionned the infection.

Looks clean and nice at first glance but if you look closer it's very dirty. The shower drain was clogged, mold and hair everywhere and bed bugs in the sheets. Sure it has an AC, free lockers (although there is no key to the rooms and anyone can get through the main entrance), a kitchen and a TV but what good is that if you bring bed bugs home. Also, there is no reception and you can only pay with credit card.

Brought a group to stay here, occupying three different rooms. There were bedbugs seen in one of the rooms. Management was unresponsive about this situation. And the place is not kept clean in general. No real outdoor space to relax as outdoor furniture is either broken or full of bird droppings.

I was bitten by bed bugs! Check your mattresses…

Good hostel. Unfortunately there are bed bugs in room E where I stayed.

I've been attacked by fleas. I'm now paranoid to sleep. Had to move to a different bed. At first I thought it were bed bugs. Absolutely unbelievable. I want a refund and some anti itch cream

I got several bites from bed bugs. I woke up the next morning and wasn´t really sure if I got bitten so I checked the room once I came back to the hostel. Unfortunately I found some as you can see in the picture. I talked with the staff and they promised me to refund me the money for the whole stay but they just sent me the money for the night on which we left.

After three nights I had to leave as there was a huge bed bug problem. The problem was first reported in the dorm after my first night but no one communicated it to me. At 10pm on my third night I returned to find all the beds in my dorm were stripped. When I inquired what was happening, I was told I was being moved for renovations. After I pushed for an answer I was finally told it was bed bugs. I feel I should have been told straight away as I need to wash my clothes etc. I was put in a new dorm for the third night and was really badly bitten all over during the night. I cancelled my stay and received a refund. I'm just so annoyed that the staff tried to lie about it at first because I could have avoided a lot of discomfort if I was informed after the first night. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone.
