Open House Hostel

Genuinely such a filthy hostel. There were brown stains all over my sheets and my bunk mate found a bed bug. Aside from the good location this hostel is terrible. The staff are friendly but communication from them is lacking. This hostel seriously needs a deep cleaning.

Worst hostel experience in my life Found a cockroach in the bathroom, a bedbug in the sleeping room on my backpack, red stains on the bed sheets, mold on the bathroom sink and the shower, soap consisting of water.. Besides being asked to pay the full price repeatedly even though I showed proof of a partial payment via Hostelworld Unfortunately I cannot recommend at all

I found bed bugs on my room, but besides that everything was nice. Staff was super nice.

Three words: BED BUG PARTY. Only book this hostel if you are absolutely desperate! On the first night I found a bed bug crawling on my stomach, searching around my bed I found some hiding in the crack of the wall, others scurrying along the floor, some dead and squashed into the floor. After speaking to the receptionist in the morning she shared they’re aware of the bed bug problem (my room and another), yet they still allow people to book? The room was fumigated the following day but it proved useless as I found one crawling around my luggage as I packed to leave. Apparently they are using pesticide every day but it’s clearly not working! Management have been extremely unhelpful. Although they initially agreed to provide a refund for my 5 night stay, for the past week they have ignored my messages on whtsapp, it’s now been over a month since my stay and still nothing. Hostel World will not do anything about it either as the booking type was “non-refundable”, there are no exceptions, don’t expect honest reviews on Hostel World either as they are moderated. On top of this, the bathroom was in mouldy condition and the shower mats are not changed very frequently so they reek of mould/mildew. Terrible experience.

Showed up but couldn’t stay in our room because they had just sprayed our beds with bugs spray. Out of fear of bed bugs we left. Staff refused to issue a refund or properly connect us with the manager.

Bed bugs, black mold, squeaky beds, oh my. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!*** There was an infestation of bed bugs in our room and my friend got a horrible allergic reaction and got bit 20+ times. When we alerted the staff,and alerted the manager, but the manager did not care. They simply suggested we stay somewhere else. There was an immense amount of black mold in the bathroom. Overall terrible stay, plus there was no air conditioning, only 1 fan.

La gerente trata de ser amable, sin embargo la habitación se entregó más tarde de lo acordado, habitaciones sucias, con chinches, colchones en pésimo estado, no hay alguien fijo en recepción. Aplicaron algún veneno contra las chinches u otra plaga a sabiendas de que usaría la habitación, tuve picor en la garganta y nariz toda la estadía.

Hay Chinches en la habitación. El colchón de la cama terrible, está para la basura.

Two words: BED BUGS. Would NOT RECOMMEND. Staff was great, however the cleanliness of this hostel is horrible. Be careful.

BEWARE! I never leave reviews at places I go to, but here I have to warn fellow travelers. The bathroom had mold all over - THIS IS WHY THEY DON'T HAVE ANY GOOD PICTURES OF THE BATHROOM. There was only a fan which made a clicking noise all night and was covered in dust so we had to clean it off first, the staff that greeted us was too nonchalant and 'bro-y'. We got bedbugs and now have welts all over our bodies. The bed was uncomfortable with stains all over the sheets. We ended up only staying one night because it was so horrific, and paid for a hotel the last 2 nights we were supposed to stay at Open House. It's not nearly worth the money you might save, and we've stayed at lots of hostels around the world.
