Heritage haveli

I had high hopes when I booked the room at heritage haveli located at Udaipur on the banks of lake pichola. The location of this hotel is superb. The surrounding areas are clean well maintained and local attractions are just a little walk away. Lot of options for restaurants and cafés. View from the room if you choose a room with a view does not disappoint either. Rooms are painted well and bathrooms are clean. Despite the many positives the rating plunges drastically owing to the fact that the road in front of the property is closed to 4 wheelers for the greater part of the day. If you have heavy luggage or mobility issues it’s a hassle. Rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors are only accessible through a very narrow very steep staircase which does not allow even two person to pass simultaneously. Room though spacious were with broken furniture of below average quality and make. Beds were insect infested with some sort of bed bugs. Sheets and comforters were not very clean. Mosquitoes were there but was manageable with repellants. This place needs a good overhaul to unlock its true potential. At the very least they should have a neat and sanitised room with no bug infestations and sheets without blotches and smelly raggedy comforters.
