Youth Hostel Esch/Alzette

Ik was hier met mijn 3 vrienden. Wij kwamen hier aan savonds om elf uur en we waren gewoon welkom (er was een nachtreceptie) vervolgens was er een kleine complicatie omdat wij geen 18+er bij ons hadden. Wij hadden veel reviews gezien over bedwantsen, maar deze waren NIET aanwezig. Het kamertje was schoon en wij hadden onze eigen badkamer met douche en toilet. Wij hebben hier heerlijk overnacht tegen een goede prijs. De kamertjes waren goed geluiddicht, wij hebben geen last gehad van anderen en de anderen hopelijk ook niet van ons. Wij dachten eerst dat wij een probleem gingen hebben met de treinen aangezien wij pal naast het station on kamertje hadden.

Bedbugs in multiple rooms. I understand this is in problem in Benelux now and I feel sorry for the staff but I do believe way more could have been done from their side. Neither the new rooms I was moved to nor the meeting rooms were properly cleaned - only surface level, definitely not enough to get rid of any bedbugs. Not to mention I paid myself for all the washing, new clothes, medicine…so you definitely do not save much money by staying in this hostel.

Stayed in 305. Location was decent as it is close to the station. I stayed for 2 nights. First night, there were bedbugs in my room. I woke up with many itchy rashes. I thought i had allergy but i checked the bed and saw several bedbugs underneath the bed. They changed my room. There was then no bedbugs, but there was constant noice from the street. Couldn’t sleep much. Fair enough for the prices, but this is below average standard. Hope you guys improve.

Location is perfect and very accessible, but there might occur several problems such as bed bugs even though they renovated the place recently. They also have mixed review for their personnel because there is one girl which is extremely nice and polite and so helpful, always does her best and smiles, she just brightens your day but on the other hand there is one which always rushes you, says you can't go this you can't do that so that's why it's a bit lower review if only the first girl was working it would've been at least 4

Such a strange place. I’d been booked into a private room here as an artist with a festival. I’d googled the hostel a discovered that it had a recent outbreak of bedbugs. I was concerned and asked that a clean bill of health be assured. I arrived late at night to find four men behind the reception desk’ behaving in a threatening manner and a fog of smoke in the air. I fully understand that this is a budget accommodation but it was shocking to me to be handed an unsealed plastic bag of bedclothes-one sheet and one duvet cover and be instructed to make my own bed. The sheet was of dreadful quality and not clean. It was late at night and with little alternative I used the slightly cleaner duvet cover to sleep on. The ‘pillows’ were of the cheapest variety and no pillowcases were offered. Bedbugs were present and I barely slept. The festival found alternative accommodation the next day. Look to your own standards but this hostel is unsafe and unclean.

Lovely stay here & happy to report no bed bugs based on other older reviews! Nice breakfast, coffee & location is awesome as it’s a two minute walk to the Gare. …Will say not a lot to do around Esch Sur Alzette as a lot of things close at odd times, but it’s only 20 minutes to the city so if you don’t mind commuting then its fine. Bring hand soap & a towel as these are not provided!

⚠️⚠️Bed bugs⚠️⚠️ We got there and the first thing we saw were bed bugs. We decided to leave as we are on a five week trip and did not want to risk having to deal with that. While leaving we were told we would get our money back as it was not our fault. That was a lie, the manager argued via email that the images attached were not bed bugs and told us that we would only be able to get a fraction of our first nights payment. I do not recommend staying here and now have to deal with submitting a chargeback through my credit card company.

Bad, we had bed bugs in the room and they refused to give us our money back after they initially said they would. We did not spend the night and ended up in a much nicer hotel right next to the city for the same price. The manager told us they were not bed bugs when they the rest of the staff and everything online suggested they were. Would not recommend.
