AK Rome Experience

The beds were basic bunks with no luxury but ok overall. Everything else felt very unclean. The hostel is also by a busy road and the windows need to be kept open at night for airflow as there is no AC, so there is constant traffic noise all night. Paint peeling off the walls, the shower/toilet needs renovation. Overall quite gross.

VIOLENT RECEPTIONIST.At 2am I returned to the hotel and the receptionist let me in. While I was in the bathroom, someone started knocking; when I opened the door, it was the receptionist, visibly angry, and he locked me inside. After a while he let me out, then came to my room and spoke aggressively. I explained I don’t speak Italian and he eventually left.Feeling unsafe, I decided to leave. When I asked him to open the main door, he denied locking me in and said that some random people had en

Ending up costing us more than a nice Airbnb. Not clean, made us pay in cash because the card machine was broken but did not give us a heads up before. Not in a good location. Would never suggest anyone stay there.

I love the atmosphere and the reception guy was kind...thought i forgot my stuff there

Do not book here, no locks or cards, run down bathrooms, definitely better options in the area.

no security for the baggage. you don't have locker in the room. you have to keep your bag in the office and pay money for it. They changed my bed without my permission and lost towel. Toilets are horrible.

Es uno de los peores hostales en los que he estado en mi vida. El equipaje grande se guarda en un cuarto que esta junto a la recepción y debemos tener fe de que nadie va a robar nuestras cosas. Tienen lockers y la mitad no sirven. La puerta de los cuartos de 8 personas no tiene ningún tipo de seguridad. Tiene muy pocas conexiones eléctricas y la mayoría no sirven. Es un buen lugar para pasar una noche de emergencia, pero no para más. Además el hostal es carisimo para lo que ofrece

está un poco lejos del centro histórico (40 min caminando). el wifi no funcionaba, muchos enchufes tampoco andaban. tienen muy pocos baños para la cantidad de gente.

Not a great atmosphere here. Cheapest hostel in Rome and gets the job done but no more. Terrace on the top floor looks very nice but that is a single bright spot

Es uno de los peores hostales en los que he estado en mi vida. El equipaje grande se guarda en un cuarto que esta junto a la recepción y debemos tener fe de que nadie va a robar nuestras cosas. Tienen lockers y la mitad no sirven. La puerta de los cuartos de 8 personas no tiene ningún tipo de seguridad. Tiene muy pocas conexiones eléctricas y la mayoría no sirven. This was fine for our stay, but we would not necessarily choose it again. There was rarely toilet paper stocked in the bathrooms and the overall cleanliness was subpar. Additionally, the hostel says people over 35 cannot stay in dorms, but we were in a dorm with many people clearly over the age of 35. Additionally, lockers were available but the room we were put in did not have a lock on it and the door for the entire hostel was open late into the night.

Got upgraded for free to a nicer room which was nice, however WiFi did not work whole time I was there, and half the lockers where broken aswell which was not ideal, other than that has nice terrrace and kitchen

Great stay and the staff was amazing. They gave us our own room for free. Will definitely be staying here next time I’m in Rome.

Das Hostel war auffällig sauber, die dachterasse wunderschön und die Mitarbeiter extrem freundlich und sehr sehr hilfsbereit. Wir konnten unser Gepäck auch dort lassen, als wir noch nicht einchecken konnten.

Ahmed and his staff were very friendly and attentive, I enjoyed my stay so much I stayed twice :)) The guy with the curly hair was very nice also, can't remember his name

So, this is frustrating because it has so much potential. With a little care and investment it could be awesome but seems like the owners are letting it slide. The building itself is amazing, and the location is great, but there's no security to stop anyone walking into your room from off the street. There's a lack of bathroom facilities and the kitchen is not good. The roof terrace is the best asset, otherwise not much social area.

it was okay, but the beds didnt have curtains so there was no privacy and there was a mixup with my reservation, but the staff managed to fix it, the kitchen was nice and spacious, but missing some equipment, a good base for sightseeing, not a party hostel, if ur looking for a social scene, it was clean, can recommend

El personal fue muy amable y la limpieza en general estuvo bien. Sin embargo, hubo varios problemas: un baño estaba tapado, nos asignaron inicialmente una habitación incorrecta y tras el cambio se perdieron nuestras toallas, las duchas tenían poca presión y puertas en mal estado, las ventanas no cerraban y hacía mucho frío por la noche, y la cocina estaba poco equipada.

It is really nice and affordable. Walk distance from colosseum. The staff is really nice. The kitchen is bit unfurnished but it will do. The terrace is beatiful!! It was safe but still all the doors are open and there is no keys or cards so that feels bit strange but there is 24h reception so I think that’s how they keep it safe. I can recommend, just there is not much heating in winter. But we came back twice so that’s all I need to say!
