Samesun Banff

Die Betten waren leider sehr unbequem und wackelten bei jeder Bewegung der anderen Person. Im Zimmer und in den Fluren war es recht kalt. Das Bad musste mit insgesamt 11 Personen geteilt werden und wurde während unseres Aufenthalts nicht gründlich gereinigt (Fußboden, Spiegel und Armaturen waren verschmutzt). Die Schlafkojen hatten nur an zwei Seiten einen Vorhang, sodass man von vorne jederzeit hineinschauen konnte. Bei den Einzelbetten gab es überhaupt keinen Sichtschutz.

Considering the other Samesun Hostel I've stayed at, this is more like a welfare homeless youth Hostel, this morning I was woken up by a naked teenage couple making out in the bunk above me, there is people's belongings strewn all over the place. The room had no ventilation which meant it was impossible to sleep with the heat of the room. The cups that were put out for the cold coffee in the morning were filthy, the toaster was also filthy and had not been cleaned in weeks.

Overpriced, noisy, breakfast very scarce and general rip off for the price paid, since booked through a third party platform.

Absolutely horrendous staff

Compared to the hostels in other cities in Canada, this is below average. Only the bar is fun. Staff at the bar is good the rest were not even worth talking to. Only good thing about here is the pub. So stay in some hotel and go there only for the drinks. The bed was not cleaned. some people work there share the same room and they have everything there as they live there. And they don’t respect other guests. They have fun in the rooms at midnight, so the other guests can’t sleep.

Overpriced and overall a bad experience. I’ve stayed in a lot of hostels and this was by far the most expensive and by far the worst one. The staff were nice but the facilities were not great and the bed was awful. I was wedged into the ceiling which I don’t really care about but there was a large stain on my pillow and clumps of hair in my bedding when I arrived late at night. The breakfast is good but does little to improve the overall experience.

Good location, close to all bars & restaurants, underground or free on street parking available which was great. Disappointing staff & breakfast. Some of the staff looked like they definitely didn’t wanted to be there. Unfriendly and no real desire to help, one worded answers when asked a question. Breakfast felt messy, everyone was on top of each other fighting to use the one toaster or the pancake maker. Needs improvement!

The room is so hot and for that now I’m sick. Very hot and only 1 small fan it’s crazy and for the price I expect a better experience

Didn't find staff very friendly. Extremely overpriced considering the kitchen and room was like a sauna.

Beyond disappointed with our stay at Samesun. A one night stay was extortionate for the facilities and customer service received with the main redeeming qualities being that we had a bed in Banff and the breakfast muffins were actually v tasty. Over CA$120 per person/night for a stuffy 14 bed dorm sharing a single bathroom, the bar was closed for a private event so no social facilities and had to deal with loud music at night. We were left feeling sad and frustrated (and significantly poorer!).

Best hostel I've stayed at so far. staff was incredible. the people were extremely social, not cliquey, and welcoming of everybody. the hostel bar was great. seriously, come here and you'll make great memories !

Amazing atmosphere, friendly people, such a great time! Great for solo travelers

The hostel is along the Main Street of Banff so just a short walk to the main village and a few trail heads. The communal areas, although small, are nice, clean and well maintained. Free breakfast is always appreciated and the bar has good ‘daily deals’ & happy hour as well as good social events. Staff are mostly friendly and helpful.

I would recommend Samesun to anyone staying in Banff. I met so many fun people here and had such a good time I ended up extending my stay! The kitchen and common areas are quite small, but this works in its favour as it pushes people to hang out in the bar more, which made for a great atmosphere. Super secure and breakfast was fab. The only bit of feedback I could give is to have better labelling / cleaning products in the kitchen - there wasn’t always soap / washing up stuff.

Such an amazing hostel! Staff are super friendly and helpful! And only a 2 minute walk from town. Absolutely love having the beaver bar attached to the hostel for some pub food and drinks! Awesome atmosphere!

Perfect Hostel for a ski trip ! Stayed in the 6 - female dorm, which hard a calm and friendly vibe, idéal for great nights of sleep between intense ski days. The bar is at a seperate level, so you really have the option to get social and partying or to not feel it at all. Breakfast could be open earlier for people wanting to catch 1st shuttle LL. Ski locker is a huge perk, as being super close to shuttle stops for the mountains. I would recommend as being the hostel to choose, staying in Banff...

Amazing staff everyone was lovely. The new 103 bathroom was beautiful, wonderfully deigned. Would recommend to anyone staying in Banff!

I had a very comfortable stay here. The shower was amazing. I stayed in an all-female dorm. The staff was friendly and helpful, the bar on-site was good. Lots of useful tools in the kitchen. The location is also great, you can walk anywhere in less than 20 minutes.

I liked the atmosphere here. I felt welcomed from the moment l arrived. The staff are all so friendly and gave amazing local recommendations. The dorms were spotless and cleaned daily. The bar also does great happy hour specials and is a good place to meet new people.

The location and bar are great, but the SQUEAKING bunk beds and mattresses were so bad they should be illegal.

One of the best hostels I ever stayed in!

This hostel is the perfect vibe and I met the best people to enjoy my time in Banff! Such a great hostel for meeting friends - they have a really nice common room where people are playing games and you can watch movies together.
