4. Preise total...
I've been on the road in Southeast Asia for 100 days. I've never experienced a hostel so bad. 1.Bettlaken im Bett. 2.The floor has a cleft of several centimeters. All the noises from the ground floor came into my room, including cigarette smoke. So did music until 11pm, and loud conversations even longer. 3.So did a cleft in the walls to the neighboring rooms, so that one could see what was left there. This applies of course to both directions. 4.Price total overhöht
If you stay here in the dorm rooms, I would check the room first to see if you think it is suitable. The window was broken and left wide open all night. Mosquito nets are provided but for the price I paid compared to other hostels I have stayed the room was not ok. I need to leave this as a warning as I saw all the good reviews but was disappointed and hardly slept for my night. I am sorry to have to leave a negative review the owner is lovely and the food was great. Wishing you all the best.
we left two nights earlier bc we couldn't get any sleep for the first two nights- we booked the private. the room was made a wood that had gaps between slats so we got all the smoke from downstairs & heard everything. Also a gap between the wood from the private to the dorms so no privacy. Wifi was really weak & didnt work. No hot water from showers. bedframe had intentional gaps so meant the matress sagged through them and was uncomfortable. no reply from the hosts after we left either :)
I really didn't like it. the private room with a rusty old fan, no ceiling but a common ceiling so I wake up at night, no ambience, expensive cafe, stairs to climb, moisi in the bathroom. i will not shorten my stay. i'm DECONSEILLE
Decent price but lots of issues. One flickering lightbulb for the whole room so you have to use a flashlight. Mosquito nets have holes in them so you get eaten up at night. Listing says each bed has a fan but there’s only two fans for the whole room (8 people). Thankfully we came during a cloudy/rainy week or we wouldn’t have been able to sleep
The hostel has a very basic, laid-back island vibe, which some travelers will probably love, especially if you’re into a more alternative, hippie-style atmosphere. The staff are genuinely friendly and try to be helpful, which I appreciated. That said, it wasn’t really for me. The facilities are quite simple, and some things felt a bit too improvised: one mosquito net was broken, which led to my travel mate getting badly bitten, and the top bunk didn’t feel particularly secure.
I think it’s a cute place and works well in m’pai bay. Noise was an issue but was due to other guests so not the hostels fault. They’re just starting off so think things will fall into place. But for the price I was happy and met some nice people
Very good reception but unfortunately we slept very poorly due to a common ceiling, we understood everything, especially at 3am when people without the least amount of respect go to bed. there was a mosquito net but this one, totally torn, had many holes and the light in the bedroom didn't work. you have to accept that it is either road, it is adventure.
The hostel had a great location, friendly owners, and mosquito nets, creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, it lacked air conditioning, Wi-Fi, lockers, and outlets by each bed. Facilities included one shared ceiling light, basic showers without hot water, gaps between walls and roof, and holes in the floor, allowing noise and insects. Overall, it’s an okay option given the island’s low hostel standards, but be aware you’re essentially staying in a tree hut.
Soo many mosquitos in the room!!

Such an amazing hostel, the owners Ollie and Katie are so lovely and make you feel so welcome. The hostel has the perfect balance of social and also chill vibes. We will definitely be back!
We booked the private room which was decent but the walls are so thin you could hear EVERYTHING… was so bad that we checked out after 1 night. There’s also only 2 toilets with showers inside throughout the whole property which ran out of toilet paper very often and there wasn’t always staff available to provide more and there’s no toiletries
Really inviting owners and volunteers. Made me feel really welcome, loved the vibe of the hostel
This hostel is such a sick place to stay if you love chill vibes with also a bit of party. The owners are super nice and always down for a good time and took the time to get to know me. The coffee and breakfast were so nice, the beds are super comfy. It does get really hot but the dorm bed had a personal fan so it really helped. I had an issue with my mosquito net but it got replaced as soon as I brought it up. Would really recommend this place. Thank you guys, good luck with everything!
Great people and vibe. Very English, they have Yorkshire tea and heinz beans!! They didn't have any lockers for bags but most people don't use these anyway
Absolutely love this place. The owners and staff are so lovely. Couldn’t recommend enough.
Loved the staff, vibe and breakfast. Close to everything
Best hostel I’ve stayed in Cambodia! Super inviting vibe, spaces to chill and the owners were always happy to help with any issues. Beds are super comfy and all come with their own fan. They host a pub quiz and a Dj night, so great for meeting other backpackers. Their breakfast is incredible, best full English I’ve had in South east Asia! Thank you for an amazing stay Oli and Katie (and the lovely volunteers) xx
I’m a solo traveller and I loved it here, the staff are super friendly and welcoming and were always happy to chat, I got to go to their movie night and dj night which were both really enjoyable. I highly recommend staying
Me and my friend had a lovely 3 nights at the Hornbill! Located on a quiet street, less than a minute walk from the beach! They have a lovely common area and little balcony that we were able to sit and chill at during the rain! Expected it to be a bit more social but the island in general seemed to be more quiet when we were there. The guys do a delicious breakfast and coffee in the morning - sausage sandwich and pancakes!! Very chill vibe and would recommend to anyone visiting the island!
Very nice hostel Good location Owners are great and will help you out loads if needed

Nice place to stay. We had a private room but still thought it was very noisy as you can hear through to other guests in the dorms. Other than that, staff were lovely and the location was good!
Great hostel with comfy beds and a good vibe downstairs. Owners are brilliant and the English breakfast is the best I’ve had this trip so far:)

Good value for money. Staff is super nice and helpful. Only downside is that the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything going on i the hostel, downstairs, outside, etc. but we got the impression that most places on the island (in this price range) are built the same. Great otherwise.
Very good hostel with very nice people
My favourite hostel I’ve stayed at in SE Asia!!! Such a cool little place just a short walk from the beach. Owners Oli and Katie made everyone feel at home. And special thanks to Giada and Pascuale ❤️
Lovely staff and lovely owners
Such a beautiful hostel, It's still the start of the season so the island is quite quiet, but that was perfect for me. Katie and Ollie were really inviting and took time to talk to me and tell me about the island, they've only just opened after renovating and the place looks so different from the photos they showed me. Highly recommend this hostel. Thanks Katie and Ollie!
