+ Nada. Pésimo el servicio
- No tenían mi reservacion así que tuve que esperar por 3 horas mientras buscaban por otro alojamiento cercano, nos mandaron a uno de al lado con el cual estabamos contentas pero a los 5 minutos tambien nos fueron a sacar pirque estaba tambien resevadl y luego nos dieron otro a unos 6 minutos en auto el cual era de pésima calidad y servicio. me dieron a cambio almuerzo (a su elección) y desayuno (el cual no cumplieron) y tuvimos que buscar por otro lado.

- Buscaron la primera oportunidad para aprovechar y ganar mas, el lugar estaba sucio, las habitaciones no son cómodas para descansar.

- This is my second time staying here and what a difference from the first experience. Upon arrival the place looked deserted, unkempt, rundown. The patio and pool were dirty, the restaurant was closed. The next day because the owner was arriving people started cleaning and it definitely made a difference but will never stay here. When I complained I was told i could get a refund for my second night as they didn’t need my money that bad. Extremely unprofessional. Don’t recommend it.
- El desayuno es pequeño y sólo te incluye una taza de café. ¡Eso es increíble! La persona de servicio es amable, pero no tiene otra opción que cumplir con las reglas del lugar. Luego de eso, te cobran por una taza adicional, el desayuno incluído no está a la altura cuando la tarifa de hospedaje es igual a un hotel de cadena internacional. Es una sola opción de desayuno y una cantidad absurdamente pequeña. El agua se va de las instalaciones, entra la bomba de agua, y de inmediato se va la energía, otra vez sin agua. En toda la estadía se fue como 7 veces la energía eléctrica.

- Keine Zimmerreinigung, kein Roomservice, keine frischen Handtücher, keine Seife oder Shampoo im Bad vorhanden, nur kaltes Wasser, der Föhn funktionierte nicht, Getränke sind ausgegangen
+ The location was great! Right there with great access to the beach. The vibe is more relaxed. We had the place to ourselves, which was nice. The pool was refreshing and was kept clean. The rooms were clean.
- It was under construction, which we were not made aware of prior to our visit. We were told when we arrived that there was some minor construction and that we would not hear much noise, although there was lots of noise during the day and before 8am. However, it didn't limit our use of the facilities. There was no hot water, which was a huge bummer. Booking.com did not inform us that there was no hot water, and when I asked the owner... his response was that "it's common, and most find it refreshing" assuming I should just deal with it. Was no apology for the misunderstanding or miscommunication. There's no housekeeping and the beds are very hard. Also, they only accepted cash. Booking.com stores my CC info and I was under the impression that I was paying through that platform. I was sent a message saying most places only accept cash and to use ATM's in Leon, but it was never direct or clear that "Jake's on the Beach" only accepted cash. It was general, and almost like a suggestion for me to have cash but not a requirement. One of the owner's, Rod, was our host. He was nice, friendly, and hospitable. The only concern I had was that he smoked often, and would leave cigarettes buds around, which we did not find professional. The incident that alarmed me was the last night. It was later around 10:30pm, and my wife and I were having a serious conversation sitting by the beach, when he came and sat right behind me smoking and drinking a bottle of beer. We do not smoke, and it bothers our lungs. He just said "disculpa me" and sat down. I think he was intoxicated, maybe, and just too relaxed around us. It wasn't professional. After taking a walk on the beach, we returned around 11pm and found that he had left his beer bottle in the sand and all lights out.

- The area is small we had to leave early, because there wasn't much to do, We couldn't get a refund so we had to take the loss.

- la piscina algo sucia , desayuno no estuvo rico . el precio no tiene relación con la experiencia que ofrece el hotel . si le bajan un poco el precio entonces talvez las cosas negativas no te sean muy notorias .

- They have an organizational issue. Understaffed. Only one cook serving meals for over 70 people with no assistant in the kitchen. The kitchen closes at 7 pm but NO ONE mentions that in advance, you have to figure it out when it’s 6 minutes past closing, you’re starving and they tell you to walk 15 minutes at night to another restaurant cause they never mentioned that kitchen closes when dinner time just starts for normal people. They also don’t have a back up power. The electricity got cut out in the whole village and they took it as if that’s common but they haven’t figured out a backup plan for energy blackouts ?? Stood in the room with no light, no AC and they didn’t have a backup. The staff is very kind and sweet, the food is amazing but they’re understaffed and the organizational issue might be the owner’s or managers fault.

Jakes is an amazing place to chill at the beach and in the pool. The staff, the volunteers and the owner are all incredibly nice and helpful. The breakfast was different every morning and always very delicious. The dorm room and beds are new and very nice. During the weekend there is a more local crowd hanging out at the beach club, so you get the chance to talk to locals without leaving the place. During the week it is rather quiet and ideal for those seeking something peaceful at the beach.
+ Our stay at Jake’s in Las Peñitas was absolutely wonderful. From the very first moment, we felt completely at home. The vibe of this place is something really special, and that’s largely thanks to Darren, the owner, and Jake, his lovely dog. Darren is always in a great mood, incredibly welcoming, and has such a natural sense of humor that instantly makes you feel comfortable. Together, Darren and Jake are an amazing team who give this place its heart and soul. You can truly feel how much love and passion they put into creating a relaxed and safe atmosphere for their guests. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and we always felt safe and well taken care of. The whole place has a calm, laid-back energy that makes it easy to unwind and simply enjoy the moment. Breakfast is freshly prepared every day and very tasty. A bit more variety would make it even better, but we still looked forward to it every morning. We would come back anytime without hesitation and genuinely wish Darren and Jake all the very best for the future. Thank you for making our stay in Las Peñitas so memorable!

One of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Great location, the beach is gorgeous! I’d say it’s centrally located; can get to both sides of the village within 10 minutes. The food was great & priced well. The pool is very refreshing. Darrin, the owner, went above & beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable & had everything they needed. Such a special place with so much character, charm, & value. The dorm rooms a great size, comfortable, & the AC is a great bonus! Its own little paradise!

+ Darren is a super host, such a friendly guy who went above and beyond for every guest who walked through the door! Jake gives the best hugs, staff were attentive and friendly, the food is exceptional, and the location is awesome!

+ La hospitalidad de Darren, personalmente da la bienvenida y hace sentir a uno como si te conociera de años. Es una gran persona muy dedicado a su local. Me encanto Jake hahahaha al inicio te intimida pero luego te das cuenta que tiene un gran corazón.

- Holiday weekend and was very busy. No food after 6:30
+ The place was beautiful, definitely would recommend staying here, the room was big enough and the beds were comfortable as well, food was also very nice, sad we weren’t able to try their pizza :(
