Bambuda Bocas Town

Place is really nice. It’s great being on the water and being able to hop in whenever. Restaurant is average prices for the area and they no longer have a kitchen. Beds are super cosy with 2 pillows, privacy curtains, your own light, outlets and fan. Could’ve been perfect if I wasn’t pretty sure they had bed bugs. I kept waking up in the middle of the night extremely itchy, covered in bites. I tried telling the person at reception about it but they didn’t seem very accepting of the possibility

It was a great stay and we loved it until we discovered many bed bug stitches the day we were leaving. It was the first stop on our trip… other than that, great rooms, great food, great view!

Kommunikation war ungenügend, es gab ein Gerücht bezüglich Bedbugs in meinem Zimmer und das Restaurant kann ich auch nicht wirklich empfehlen.

- Dirty, the dorm rooms are not cleaned properly - BED BUGS, I’m one of a few people during my stay who endured bed bugs. The night staff came in to ‘help’ and just shook the bedding around spreading the bed bugs around the room!!! Staff were already aware of the bed bug problem before and claimed to have fixed it - Shared bathrooms also dirty, bins not emptied enough considering 9 people are using the toilets - Overpriced restaurant for the quality e.g. raw pancakes - Overpriced for the quality of the dorms - The volunteer staff were lovely and friendly but some of the more permanent staff were quite rude and unhelpful - The money they take as a ‘hold’ from your account apparently takes days to return after you have checked out, I don’t know why they even take the money from your account no where else does this, hopefully I get this back soon

Bed bugs in the dorm. The management's response was disappointing; they merely removed the mattress without informing anyone in the dorm about the issue. This lack of transparency and insufficient action significantly detracted from an otherwise potentially enjoyable stay.

This was a nice hostel overall, the outside area is beautiful, the location is convenient, and the bed was comfortable and the dorm had great AC. Unfortunately on my second night I found a bed bug and had to find a new place to stay. The staff was very nice about refunding me at least.

The location was amazing and being right by the sea was fantastic but I was in a dorm with my boyfriend and on my last night I found 3 bed bugs in my bed meaning I had to sleep in my boyfriends single bed with him, after checking his bed was clear. We found the shared kitchen needs way more utensils. I don’t usually care or write reviews and just deal with what’s there but you’re paying a lot of money for this place you’d expect a bit more.

The hostel was full of cockroaches and bedbugs… The staff is rude and you have to chase them. One morning the waitress gave me the menu, but when I went to her to order 10 minutes later, she said the kitchen was closing for a hour, but I could have drinks. The staff don’t care about allergies. Even if a dish is marked as gluten-free or vegan, they will use products with gluten and dairy when they run out of the original products for the dish and they don’t inform you about it. I ended up sick!

It is a beautiful hostel, located perfectly - during our stay we met several people in the hostel who had bed bugs and unfortunately there were also some in our room as it turned out One receptionist was not helpful about it at all (she was just plain rude), the other one however was very nice and moved us in another room and washed our clothes
