+ Nothing except location.

- Pire expérience de ma vie, alors que j'ai fait une cinquantaine d'auberge dans ma vie et dans le monde, le monsieur de l'accueil est irrespectueux au possible il m'a parlé comme si on parle à un enfant, m'a menacé de me virer de l'auberge à 23h alors que j'avais payé. Il n'écoute pas vos problèmes, passe sa vie à vous regarder par les caméras, harcèle les gens, l'hygiène est déplorable, les chambres vraiment pas dingues. Et il demande du liquide quand vous arrivez. Il m'a embrouillé et menacé pendant un quart d'heure parce que je lui ai juste dit que le produit vaisselle était trop dillué à l'eau, impossible de faire sa vaisselle. Bref à fuir. Sinon bon courage. Seul truc bien, pas trop mal placé, et encore. Worst experience of my life. I’ve stayed in around fifty hostels across the world, and this was by far the worst. The man at reception is extremely disrespectful he spoke to me like I was a child and even threatened to kick me out of the hostel at 11 p.m. despite the fact that I had already paid. He doesn’t listen to guests, constantly watches people through the cameras, and harasses them. The hygiene is terrible, and the rooms are really not great either. He also asks for cash when you arrive. He argued with me and threatened me for about fifteen minutes just because I pointed out that the dishwashing liquid was too diluted with water, making it impossible to wash dishes. Overall, avoid this place at all costs. Otherwise, good luck. The only positive point is that the location is not too bad and even that’s debatable.

- The staff was very unfriendly and miserable. I don’t know how this place is still open with so many bad reviews and a terrible owner. He is miserable in life and takes it out on others.

- We were not able to stay the night in the room. We arrived a bit late for check-in (it was our fault), but the manager called us to yell at us and spoke to us very rudely. This man’s behavior is unacceptable. And The location is also in a very unsafe area. It should be avoided if you are women traveling alone

+ I had a terrible hotel experience. Nothing !!!

- Homeless people who defecate in the shower stalls are also the ones using marijuana in the rooms. I slept clutching my wallet and phone to avoid being robbed. It's a terrible hostel. Pay an extra $20, but don't devalue yourself. You could suffer a major trauma from the experience.

- Some roommate that took residence there was a cleansing was rude and smelled like feet and booty and kept throwing derogatory comments at me trying to start a fight.

- l'accueil est inamical, agressif et autoritaire. les locaux sont vieux et dégueulasses! les matelas à ressorts sont inconfortables et bruyants; pas de serviettes de toilettes comme promis, une couverture tellement fine que l'on se gèle la nuiit. la moquette qui court sur les escaliers est noire de crasse; les ustensiles de la cuisine sont vieux, les couverts en plastiques ne permettent pas de couper sa nourriture, des cafards dans les placards le personne de ménage est inamical et le ménage est superficiel; l'ambiance est lugubre une seule rest room ( toilettes et douche ) par étage de 10 chambres ( dortoirs de 6 places ou chambre pour deux persnnes) soit pour une quarantaine de personnes! super le matin

- The owner of this hostel and the people behind it are complete crooks, they take the money for the reservation but do not provide the service, the hostel itself is located in the worst part of the city swarming by homeless people everywhere, the hostel itself is dirty, has a horrible stench of curry and rat excrements that will make you vomit within the very few moments of being there, staff is rude, arrogant and barely speaks any English! I have been in hundreds of hostels all over the world and this one is the worst! Avoid like a plague!

+ The price is attractive. Location is not far from the more touristic areas.

- The upper floors did not seem to be heated and the blanket was extremely thin. The staff was kind enough to provide two extra blankets but I still had to put every layer I had to survive the night. Bathrooms were also really cold. Outside temperature during our stay was 10deg celcius.

The rooms were spotlessly clean, the atmosphere was welcoming and calm, and the location is super convenient for getting around the city. What truly made the experience exceptional, though, was the front desk staff—especially Nick. From the moment I arrived, Nick was professional, kind, and incredibly helpful. He went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable, answered every question with patience, and handled everything smoothly and efficiently. You can tell he genuinely cares about guests and takes pride in his work. It’s rare to find someone who combines warm hospitality, clear communication, and true professionalism the way Nick does. He really sets the standard and makes the hostel feel like a safe, friendly home rather than just a place to sleep. If you’re looking for a clean, well-run hostel with outstanding customer service, The European Hostel is the place to stay—and Nick at the front desk is a huge reason why. Highly recommended, and I would absolutely stay here again!
