Instalaciones muy cómodas, el desayuno muy rico pero el personal poco agradable.

Beware - we made a reservation 2 months in advance and they cancelled it after 11pm the night before we were supposed to arrive. (We were already on the bus to huaraz, so we didn't even know it was cancelled until we arrived). They did this because they wanted us to pay DOUBLE the price from our original reservation. Then the manager got angry and yelled at me when I told him what they did wasn't right. Because they cancelled it last minute all the other hostels were full and we had to pay them.

Chaotic organization of the place led to the theft of stored valuables. Also the description of the tours they are selling are not very good. Misinformation about water supply or the need to protect luggage from rain led to some unpleasant consequences on the trek.

Hostel is good for how cheap it is ($5USD) BUT the Salkantay Trek they offer (why the low rating) is about 20% more expensive than other tours, they justify this because it’s an english guide. Neither our Guide or Porter spoke any english, just hand signals and guesswork… trek, food and gear was great but only google translate for communication . Also the guides/tours are the same you can find yourself for approx 500 sole

I never leave bad reviews. This is the worst hostel I’ve stayed in and I cannot understand the good reviews. No hot water. Staff very rude. In particular the Main Boss / Owner is arrogant and rude. Would not stay here again and checked out early

In the days I stayed here I met a lot of great people. That’s the only plus I can think of. - The hostel tries to sell you their own tours when asking for information - often cold water when showering. - the dorms on the lower floor are bad, there are no windows - they don’t enforce their own quiet hours - breakfast is always late - they gave free shots on the roof terrace so they could make pictures for hostelworld. Noise until late when dorms are right underneath with people trying...

Young male employee was rude and made me feel like I wasn't welcome here at all. He also put mug among clean after drinking from it without washing. Employees don't open door at night because they are sleeping (24/7 reception 🙈). If you arrive early in the morning, be prepared to wait on shady street! It also feels uncomfortable that your luggage is stored in small shabby room where employees also sleep. Toilets are outside dorm, but there is nothing there to hang clothes/towel while showerin...

MAL SERVICIO DEL ENCARGADO Y ADMINISTRACIÓN, me dijeron tal cual esto " estás pagando el monto mínimo, no te puedes quejar , si quieres te devuelvo tu dinero y te vas". Weird vibe from this hostel. The voulunteer here is a bit abrasive with people (seen this in other reviews and not sure why he's still there) tried to book Laguna 69 hike but he bumped up the price from 60 to 70 overnight without any explanation (other people in the group only paid 50). Not enough bathrooms or showers, always a struggle to find one free. Just doesn't seem like a very honest and friendly place.

Beds are good. Breakfeast is really basic and little. NEVER book tours here, they cancel last minute or after the tour is supposed to start. The tours they offer you mostly spent your time waiting without clear reasons in random places. They dont take their responsibility and blame third parties. They misinform you about what the tour actually entails. The hostel itself is fine, but the reservering of tours is terrible.

Hostel gets cleaned every day, breakfast is amazing, always free coffee, beds are comfy and have curtains, owner is so kind and caring, vibe is great! I can totally recommend this hostel.

Comfortabele bedden en badkamers worden frequent schoongemaakt. Alleen was er altijd wel een probleem met de douches: of het water was koud of er was gewoonweg geen water, een beetje vervelend als je van een trektocht komt. Handig dat de hostel tours aanbiedt, alleen verschillen de prijzen van dag tot dag en van persoon tot persoon. Jackie was enorm lief, bij andere staff leden had ik soms een rare vibe.

Sehr hilfsbereites Personal. Es fällt einem sehr leicht in der Unterkunft Kontakt zu anderen Reienden zu knüpfen

Ich fand den Aufenthalt in der Makalu Lodge echt schön ! Das Personal war super freundlich und aufmerksam allgemein einfach eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre

Staff are all very kind and will go above and beyond for you. Great tours. Comfy beds. Everything is clean. They’ll cook you eggs for breakfast. Rooftop terrace has killer views of the mountains! Overall had a great stay. Only drawbacks were some issues with water flow on top floor bathroom, and the hostel is about 10-15min walk from the city centre!

Excelente hostal muy limpio cocina bien equipa,una terraza con vista a las montañas yaqui y George muy amable volveré pronto.

The beds are super comfy, the shower is warm and the common area is nice to relax:) the breakfast is also good and all the staff is really nice and helpful! would definitely stay again

Beds are comfortable and the staff are super friendly. When I was there I couldn’t pay by card even though Hostelworld says you can. The showers are not very good, the higher the room the less water you have. As I was on the top floor, I always had to go to the second floor because there was no water.

Lovely hostel in Huaraz. The kitchen is great and very easy to socialize! Beds are comfy and lockers are big. Only downside is that there’s definitely not enough showers for how many people sleep on each floor! Also no hot water on most days… Breakfast was nice but also that room is very crowded because it’s quite small compared to how many people are staying at the hostel.

Fijn hostel met goed ontbijt en vriendelijk personeel dat je goed adviseert over de verschillende hikes in de omgeving en kan helpen met het boeken. Het enige nadeel is dat er maar weinig douches zijn en dat er vaak geen warm water of überhaupt geen water meer is later op de dag.

Really nice hostel and felt very welcoming. Amazing staff and are always ready to help you out and give good advice and help out trips around Huaraz. I will definitely stay here again

The building doesn’t have enough toilettes. In addition to that there was no running water on 2 floors for more than a day. The cleaning staff is very nice and friendly but the host is a bit weird and made me and others feel uncomfortable with his reigning manner to manage the hostel. He said he worked so much in hospitality and is proud of it but pretending like he is the big boss. Not very pleasant. The common area is pretty cramped downstairs.

Mit das beste Hostel in Peru bisher. Super freundliche und korrekte Mitarbeiter, extrem gemütliche und private Betten, alles jeden Tag geputzt. WLAN schnell und schöne Dach Terrasse. Helfen mit allen Touren usw. Und das alles für super Preis Leistung!
