Hotel La Basilica

My wife was woken up in the middle of the night by a roach and we both woke up the next morning with bug bites. We did concede to the staff that we could have gotten mosquito bites at our previous stay but asked them to change our sheets. Rather than just agree to this request the manager argued that we must have brought the bugs with us because “Quito doesn’t have any bugs”. As we were leaving that night she unpleasantly insisted on taking me on a tour of their laundry facilities (which I had to refuse twice) and continued to try to argue with me. I said I didn’t want to argue, i simply wanted our sheets changed. The next morning at breakfast she continued to be rude to us and when they didn’t have what my wife ordered, rather than asking for an alternative brought her a cheese omelette saying “You eat this.” Bizarre behavior. She single-handedly made our stay there unpleasant.
