This is the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. It is dirty, disgusting, unorganized, and the staff are not really interested in you. The hostel is right next to a cemetery, and I felt so uncomfortable. I booked two nights but left after one. I couldn't sleep all night. While I was in the shower, water dripped on my head from a huge mold stain. Please don't go there.

Alles is kapot en verrot, matras staken de veren uit! En muggennet was helemaal kapot overal ligt troep, de staff was kompleet van de wereld door de drank, en bij de douches brak alles af! Deze plek heeft serieuze onderhoud nodig! En de medewerkers moeten nuchter blijven. Er sliep ook iemand anders in mijn bed toen ik terugkwam van het eten. Vreselijke plek om te zijn! Ben snel naar een ander hostel gegaan vanmorgen
Everything is broken and rotten, mattresses stacked the feathers out! and muggnet was completely broken everywhere lies troop, the staff was full of the world by the drink, and at the showers everything broke off! this place needs serious maintenance! and the staff must stay sober. there was also someone else sleeping in my bed when I came back from dinner. awful place to be! i rushed to another hostel this morning
look likes a summer camp, the owner is used for people canceling, and was nice about it, the property is over priced compared to what you get

The owner is extremely aggressive, accusatory after he double booked a bed, leaving someone with no where to stay. has dogs running around that bite, bug nets have holes, there is no soap to wash your hands with, no locks and doors do not close. Woke up with a scorpion in my bed! Do not stay here!
Badly run hostel. When we arrived they didn't have the four bed room we had booked and paid for so we were placed scattered across bigger shared rooms. There were lots of mosquitos, no safes, and the rooms and bathrooms were not clean. Staff were rude and not helpful. There was no staff there at all on Sunday. Do not stay here.
Cet endroit est un taudis. Sans parler de l’approche complètement nonchalante du personnel. L’espace aménagé pour que les voyageur.se.s puissent chiller comprends un gros matelas moisis tout sale… c’est aberrant.
This place is a dump, not to mention the completely careless approach of the staff, the space arranged for travelers to chill, including a big mattress, is completely off the market... it's aberrant.

Dirty, careless and sloppy.
By ‘eco hostel’, they essentially mean tents at the top of a hill. Kitchen is really messy and there’s next to no security (padlocks on a tent) and the main issue is the dogs! A few dogs just roam around the place and spend all night barking, which is extra annoying when you’re sleeping in a tent. Got next to no sleep and obviously there’s no aircon in the ‘private rooms’. Would really not recommend. Big hippie and stoner vibes.

The location is absolutely beautiful! I got to wake up every morning and see the sunrise from the hammock in front of our cabana and it was only a short walk to either playa cometa or playa mermejita for some truly stunning sunsets! It is an eco hostel so we understood that it would not be the cleanest, but the staff and the owner were lovely and super helpful. I would definitely stay again if I get to come back to Mazunte!
Durchschnittliches Hostel mit wunderschönem Ausblick. Mäßig sozial, und es hat einen Pool. Aber die Ausstattung ist nicht gut, die Küche dreckig und die Toiletten / Duschen riechen und sind nicht schön.
Average hostel with a beautiful view. moderately social, and it has a pool. but the equipment is not good, the kitchen is dirty and the toilets / showers smell and are not beautiful.
What a great place to overlook the beach on top of the hill! Very nice staff and people, close to center, nice community, little rework needed on facilities but a great choice!!!
Cet endroit est un petit paradis, on s'y sent comme à la maison. La vue mer est incroyable! chacun son ventilateur s'il fait chaud. Mazunte est super safe de jour comme de nuit. Je pensais rester 3 jours j'en suis restée 10 .. Emilio fait du poisson grillé incroyable dans une ambiance familiale. J'adore vraiment cet endroit. pour la propreté, ce n'est pas parfait mais c'est largement ok. je recommande ce petit havre de paix.
This place is a little paradise, you feel at home. The sea view is amazing! everyone has their own fan if it's hot. Mazunte is super safe day or night. I thought I'd stay 3 days but I stayed 10..Emilio makes amazing grilled fish in a family atmosphere. I really love this place. for the cleanliness, it's not perfect but it's pretty much okay. I recommend this little haven of peace.
A very nice hostel in a beautiful location. It feels very remote and peaceful. The cabins have an amazing sea view with a little terrace to admire it from. The bedrooms were very nice, however the kitchen was filthy and disgusting, it didn’t look like it had ever been cleaned. The showers were quite dirty too. If you are not interested in cooking, stay here, but if you need to use a kitchen, go somewhere else. Also none of the plugs in our room worked so we couldn’t charge our phones.
Location, respectively view is amazing. It is too expensive for what it is. Prices for state need to drop under10€/12US$. The kitchen is a mess, worse than most places I’ve been. The layout does not invite to socialise. You don’t even get a blanket/sheet. Staff is friendly, but not commutative / proactive with intro / welcoming etc. The sanitary facilities are really badly maintained. That Mexico does have water issues is clear, but that has nothing to do with maintenance
Great view but very poorly maintained! The rooms, the bathroom, and the kitchen were very dirty. The kitchen was the most astonishing — dirtiest hostel kitchen I’ve ever seen. The staff and volunteers were very careless with the upkeep of the place and being attentive of guests. There were 2 guys who waited for several hours before anyone showed up to check them in and even then they had carelessly put someone else in the room they reserved. Very disappointed with this place.

Lo mejor que tiene el hostal es la ubicación, el precio y la vista panóramica al mar. La limpieza e instalaciones dejan mucho que desear, cortan el agua en la noche asi que los baños en las mañanas están muy muy sucios; si estas buscando unos días comódos en un lugar limpio, definitivamente no es el lugar. Sin embargo, si quieres contacto con la naturaleza y buena ubicación es una buena opción.
The cleanliness and facilities leave much to be desired, they cut off the water at night so the bathrooms in the mornings are very, very dirty; if you are looking for a few comfortable days in a clean place, this is definitely not the place. however, if you want contact with nature and good location it is a good option.

Globalement bel hostel avec une vue imprenable sur l’océan et une super ambiance. Cependant la propreté et le comfort laisse à désirer et le fait qu’il n’y ai pas de lockers était un problème pour moi

It's a very good hostel and I loved the stay! It's not always thaaat clean and the beds are not so comfortable. It's more like a nice and fancy camping vibe, but I loved it.
Como en las civilizaciones anteriores, arriba de una montaña, un lugar aislado y unido del mundo, para dormir cuando oscurece y despertar con los primeros rayos del sol. Personal y otros viajeros del mundo 10/10
As in previous civilizations, up a mountain, an isolated and united place in the world, to sleep when it gets dark and wake up with the first rays of the sun.
good location. but would only recommend if you have time to wait. 2 hours to find someone to check in and 1 hour to find someone to check out. frustrating should be staff on site.
It’s a beautiful place , the view from the cabins is incredible and it’s not too far from town. It’s right next to the entry to Punta Cometa, which is great until the hours before or after sunset where the road up to the place is super crowded. It’s an eco hostel, so I wasn’t surprised by the fact that there was some dust and bugs around, however the kitchen was a little too gross for me, I wouldn’t recommend cooking. Overall it was a beautiful and relaxing spot to enjoy Mazunte.

I had a lovely time at Cabaña! Amelio is very sweet and always making sure you have the best time. The view is amazing, and the hostel has a really magical vibe. I really recommend staying here if you are in mazunte and soaking up all the Mazunte vibes!
Such a funky little hostel! We stayed in the 6 bed dorm & the view was absolutely stunning! Woke up to the sunrise every morning & sound of the waves. There are no curtains in this room, not a big deal for me but could be for others. The property is an Ecohostel so it’s a bit more of a camping vibe. Cleanliness isn’t a deal breaker for me so I really loved it here & the owner is so kind!
