Monteverde Backpackers

Hele oude bende, de bank heeft geen vulling en de matrassen kuilen. Ook in de badkamer vroeg ik mij af of ik er schoner van werd. de kamers zijn erg ruim. Daar in tegen was de keuken weer minimaal. De eigenaar is vriendelijk maar je leeft eigenlijk in zijn huiskamer, overal ligt zooi en speelgoed. onze kamer had geen gordijnen en ook hoorde je de hele nacht het verkeer.

Hostel avec lit très inconfortable, on sent les ressorts. Bruyant et froid la nuit. Le gérant est sympa.

Owner is very pushy about selling his tours. Music at night really loud and no soundproofing. Bad atmosphere.

Without a doubt the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in. This hostel is incredibly dirty, old and very dark inside. Someone should have payed me to stay there, and not the other way round. However, there were a few pluses such as hot water and some eggs, milk and bread provided for breakfast.

I don’t understand how this place got such good reviews. The room upstairs was freezing cold, on my first day the shower was cold as well. The kitchen was small and not very clean. The included breakfast is that the staff gets bread, eggs and oats and you have to prepare your breakfast yourself. All rooms are extremely dark and since the place is next to a restaurant it is also super loud. I was not happy at all staying there and I can’t recommend it.

I did not have a good time staying at the Monteverde backpackers. The beds and the room were food, but the common room was small, dark and the couch had big, filthy looking holes in it, and no one spend time there. From the beginning of my arrival, I was met with a weird and incompetent attitude, and I was misinformed about the price and time of a service I booked via. them, and when I was later told about the actual price and time (more than 1,5hours difference) I wasn't allowed to cancel.

Leek from roof onto our beds and other areas in the hostel, toilet didn’t flush, staff were nice but very pushy on trying to get you to book tours, not a great atmosphere in the hostel. Good location. Not enough plugs in rooms for each bed. Not the worst, not the best.

This is a good place to stay in Monteverde and the location is great. Everything is clean and there are common places to sit inside, however the only thing is there aren’t any great places to sit outside (hammocks, etc.) which I think would improve the place

It's okay overall. The location is very good, basically in the middle of the small town, close to everything you need. The owner was friendly in person, but there are a lot almost passive aggressive signs in the house explaining rules. I was in the 4-Bedroom which has barely any space if it's fully occupied - no curtains, power plug situation is bad. Also there is no AC or Ventilation - there are windows with nets. I can't really give it a review because we were double booked. It would have been nice to have received a call or an email to tell us beforehand.

Nice, clean hostel but basic- does the job for a few nights. Not sure what breakfast was included as I never saw anything but there were free bananas. I would go back in future

The staff was not very nice when I came through the car entry because I didn’t find the entry (the taxi driver also didn’t find it), it wasn’t clear from outside that this the entry. The kitchen was not very clean. Also I didn’t try the free breakfast but I heard it wasn’t very good. Didn’t feel very social. Nettes Hostel in Monteverde. es gibt nicht wirlich einen chilligen Gemeinschaftsraum, das ist etwas schade, aber insgesamt würde ich wahrscheinlich wieder dorg übernachten

Nice hostel. Facilities are a bit old but work just fine! The owner at the reception is so nice and very helpful. Lockers are a bit small and there are no curtains for the beds, but it’s ok. Only thing is “included breakfast” is just eggs, toasts, pineapple jam and a bit of cereal and that’s it. You have to prepare it yourself. Otherwise hostel is great for the price.

Gute Lage und nett dort aber die Küche ist recht unhygienisch und das Frühstück sind bereitgestellte Lebensmittel, mit denen man sich dann selbst was machen kann

Súper confortable. Las camas son cómodas. El agua sale caliente. La cocina es completa. Alonso te recibe con muy buena predisposición y energía y además te orienta según los planes que quieras hacer. Sin dudas volvería!

I only spent two nights there. Overall, however, I really can't complain. Everything was clean. The beds were very comfortable—even though they didn't have curtains. The only things that bothered me a little were that my bed didn't have a power outlet and that it was very noisy at night; furthermore, it was drafty because there were gaps in the wall. Probably my fave hostel in Central America so far! Great staff (special thanks to the American volunteer!), good location, perfect blend of social but relaxed, and much-needed hot showers. Lockers are a bit shabby and I guess there could be more power sockets. Also getting anywhere in Monteverde without a vehicle is a pain, but that's not the hostel's fault. A lovely stay!

This hostel was a good place to stay just for a few nights. Reception was very helpful with booking tours/shuttles and laundry service was super quick. Overall great place expect not super social and there wasn’t a free breakfast as advertised.

Great option in Monteverde. The rooms were large and clean. The common areas are great to meet people. Highly recommend.

Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt. Der Hostelbesitzer ist wirklich super nett und wir haben einiges an Zeit mit ihm verbracht. Er hat uns tolle Touren empfohlen, die sich absolut gelohnt haben. Die Küche war insgesamt gut nutzbar, auch wenn manche Küchenutensilien schon etwas runtergekommen waren. In den Schlafzimmern wurde es nachts recht kalt, da die Fenster etwas undicht sind und es im Ort generell stark abkühlt. Trotzdem insgesamt eine gute Erfahrung 😊

We loved our stay here at the Hostel. The vibes were amazing due to the owner and his family. Everyone was super helpful and always available during the day for questions. This is what a hostel should be like! Very nice and chill vibes, perfect match for Monteverde🤩

The hostel was convenient. It was kept very clean and they had a binder in which we could look at the different tours and activities available. The owner was helpful with booking my shuttle for my next destination. The only things I would say is that there are no curtains on the dorm beds and that the "included breakfast" is composed of eggs, cereal and bananas that you have to prepare yourself.
