The Pink Palace Hotel & Hostel

What EVER you do do NOT stay at this place, I’m not one to leave reviews, but out of all the countries I’ve been to and all the places I stayed in, this was the absolute WORST …a lot of shady shit going on all the way from bed bugs… and paying the ppl hush money to keep quiet…and lies and deception about the location, and theirs tours have so much false advertising the corfu backpackers and pink palace are THE SAME. I booked corfu backpackers since the pink palace had so many bad reviews but welp jokes on me cause it was the same actually not the same the room I was in was a long walk down the hill and a flight of stairs, it’s also not very clean because half of the staff are volunteers because they don’t wanna hire professionals and pay them a living wage just TERRIBLE

Staff came into the room each day to change towels and toilet roll, but left the door unlocked each time. No lockers to put your luggage in the room. Shower didn’t drain and sprayed everywhere. Don’t use bedding provided, woke up covered in bed bug bites. Most events get cancelled or start 1-2 hours later than planned. Toilets in public areas are dirty and floor wet. Wouldn’t stay again.

BED BUGS! Stayed here in one of the four bed hostel rooms and ended up with bedbugs. The night staff were clearly not trained in how to handle the situation and tried to move us into a room next door saying there was no way to get a refund. The manager the next morning was nice and offered us a partial refund. DONT STAY HERE.

DO NOT GO HERE!! BED BUGS!! the backpackers beach hostel and the pink palace hostel are the same thing, run by the same people just in a slightly different area. for starters, staff was rude when we were checking in, they didn’t even have our room and we overheard them say “just stick them in that room and wish there’s beds”— super disorganized, we didn’t even get the room we booked (which was supposed to be right on the beach, instead it was a 10 minute walk away), total rip off. NO AIR CONDITIONING in the dorms, the main pink palace does in the common areas, but not the rooms. it was hotter/more humid in the rooms than outside, the bed’s inside were damp, we ended up sleeping outside on the sun chairs because it was cooler and more comfortable than the room. we ended up back in the room early in the morning, then woke up with a bunch of bites. BED BUGS! the staff didn’t offer a refund or even apologize, just said “okay thanks”. the bathroom was disgusting, and the door DIDN’T CLOSE! it barely closed and wouldn’t lock, super not okay. there was only two outlets in a room for five people, so bring a portable charger. overall, bad experience— you may have a better one, but keep all these in mind when booking. worse hostel ever. paid €70 to sleep outside.

The good: whether you’re still in school or still party like you are- you’ll find a crowd who is looking to party. The location and beach are phenomenal and a short walk to the restaurants and great food. Staff actively organized daily hikes or activities. The bad: initially thought to be a cluster of 50 mosquito bites; the size, proximity and location strongly indicates bed bugs. The room floor was covered in sand, shower head broken, no bathroom locks anywhere or storage lockers in dorm.

We loved everyone we met on our trip here, it was full of friendly like minded travelers. However when my friend and I stayed here we both got bed bugs and when we reported it at check out we received a very rude response from the manager working the desk. She said she had been working there over 30 years and there was no way to give any sort of refund/ or do anything. Would stay for the vibes but not for the staff or the rooms

Probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a hostel. I booked for four nights but only ended up staying two before I decided to leave. The room was dirty and I have multiple bed bug bites from staying here. No lockers or safety features in the rooms so felt completely unsafe. People playing music outside your door until 4am and the people who worked there were usually part of this noise. Over all a terrible experience and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Wir hatten ein Zimmer direkt am Strand. Leider war das Zimmer schrecklich. Im Bad hat es unheimlich gestunken, dass war fast nicht auszuhalten. Die Betten waren unfassbar ungemütlich, man hat jede Metallfeder in Rücken gespürt. Nachts hatten wir alle unfassbares Jucken am Körper in diesen Betten. Wir sind komplett zerbissen aufgewacht, wahrscheinlich von Bettwanzen oder ähnlichem. Das einzige was sich gelohnt hat war extra für das Frühstück zu bezahlen, dass war wirklich gut für den Preis.

Couldn’t fault it. nothing robbed on us, no bed bugs and everyone was nice. That’s how I judge a hostel anyway. The system of borrowing a lilo, football etc is brilliant and the first time of seen this done. If something was to be improved it would be put hooks/ hangars into the rooms to make use of the high ceilings.
