The staff was super welcoming and friendly. The place was super secure. However, the room is being renovated. There were little ants coming in through the bathroom and the floor of the room, the double bed is no longer comfortable and the electrical outlets are not well located in the room.
A very basic hostel, could improve the facilities and services it provides. there was no hot water in the room. i didn't like its facilities.
The hostel is ideally located near the bus station so perfect when arriving in the middle of the night. We were the only visitors in the hostel and only stayed one night. Important to note is that the dorm room has a roof which is not attached which means bugs/mosquitoes can get in. It’s not a social hostel and also does not offer activities. The host is very friendly and helpful (only speaks Spanish).
We had a nice, but quiet stay in the Hostel. Not much other travellers there, but every now and then someone to talk to. The kitchen is very simple, but has more or less everything. Bring lighter and oil! The owners speak only spanish, but try to do everything to make you feel comfortable. Especially the mum is so lovely! You get recommendations and tipps for tours around Tena. During our stay they also had construction work so that basically the whole morning and day we heard annoying noises.
Great hostel. The owner is super nice and welcoming
Don't know how they get a 10.0 evaluation. + Staff is amazing and helpful where they can. - Kitchen is super basic without fridge - Beds were really uncomfortable - Beds were too short for tall people
My stay in Zumag Sisa was very pleasant. The owner of the hostel was really friendly, looking out for me, helping me with any question I had regarding Tena, or Ecuador in general. She was de sweetest hostesse I have had. The kitchen is equiped and you can get purified water if the host is there. The location is ideal and you get a key to enter the hostel.
Hermosa experiencia!!
I would like to highlight Marcia's kindness and hospitality, her help and recommendations were of great help during our stay in Tena.
I really enjoyed my stay at Zumag Sisa! Marcia was incredible, she told me where I should go on such a short stay in Tena. it was only a few days but I was able to enjoy my time here. as a beginner Spanish speaker she helped me a lot with practicing my Spanish and visiting the local sights like Laguna Azul and some good restaurants!
Good location on the main road. Facilities and rooms are basic but large locker is nice. The shower is cold water and Wi-Fi is extremely limited. There weren’t any mosquito nets which could be relevant in this region. There are no events or any social aspect to the hostel, so it really depends on the people in your room. The staff was not well prepared when it came to checkout as they did not have any change. Still okay for a short stay.

The family that run this hostel are so friendly and helpful :) I really recommend staying here

super lovely lady running the hostel, everything was great, no official breakfast service tho can get a bit noisy from music from the neighbour house
Great hostel. The owner is super nice and welcoming
I stayed here a long time ago and am just getting around to doing reviews. I love this place! The lady who owns it is the sweetest. This place was my safe haven after getting absolutely effed over by a volunteering gig in the Amazon.
Great quiet hostel with all the basic amenities. Clean & secure with lovely hosts. Wi-Fi was a little inconsistent but very affordable basic hostel.
Marcia was the most helpful hostel host I have had, she helped to sort all the activities we wanted to do in the Amazon. The hostel is just off the main high street which is useful, and the rooms were nice.
Absolutely loved our stay here. The host made us feel right at home, helped us plan, and was extremely accommodating. She recommended fantastic restaurants and booked last-minute tours. The location was near the bus stations and local restaurants. Definitely a great place for seasoned travelers and beginner backpackers.

very friendly people, good atmosphere, beautiful ambience
