The Lansdowne Hotel

- The issue is, I entered the room to sleep at midnight and the room stunk/stench of alcohol and cigarette smoke, one of the room guests, could not stay in room, packed up belongings and left property, did not sleep at property. management must ensure no alcohol or smoking in room, disappointed.

- The location might be good and the rooms clean, but everything else is a disaster. The security guard was shockingly disrespectful, and the manager even worse – treating paying customers with arrogance and zero professionalism. They claim you can book easily via reception or their Goki system, but in reality, they simply ignore your requests and show no interest in helping. Communication is non-existent. Don’t expect answers to your queries. Even if you’re above 30, a paying guest, and acting respectfully, they will treat you like a child. There are plenty of hostels in Sydney where staff actually respect their guests – even the one right across the street offers a far better experience.

- Stank of sewerage. Zero staff. Zero response to repeated phone calls unanswered. Zero response to emails even though we’d been trying to contact them for 1.5 weeks prior to our arrival. A gazillion stairs to manoeuvre. Continuously locked out of the building. Code’s didn’t work. Unable to check in AT ALL. Prison cell of a room. Couldn’t even check out. Booked for 5 nights. Left after only two nights and couldn’t even reach anybody to explain why! I have lived in hostels all over Sydney. I knew to not expect much, but The Lansdowne? I will be rubbishing their name until my dying breath!!!!!! AND? We combined as a group of four people wasted $500 for this experience?????

- all the staff overall bar one member were unavailable. not one of the check-in points worked. the electronic keys did not work, during booking we booked a 4 bedroom room for 4 people our group was split and this could not be fixed. communication with the venue before the night was impossible. after going to the event that was on site (the reason for the booking) i tried to enter the accommodation but again my keys did not work (please wait and try again was the key response) so as i could not entre the building i left and found alternate accommodation

+ I was refused because my age which i find unacceptable after paying for one week stay traveling from Thailand to Sydney then being refused after a long flight then finding new accommodation which cost me for one night $270.00

- DO NOT STAY HERE – SCAM We were robbed on our first night. The “secure” luggage room is a joke—staff let a homeless person in, who stole from multiple backpacks. There was CCTV footage, but Brian, the Venue Supervisor, refused to call the police. The place is absolutely filthy, the AC doesn’t work in every room, and there are hidden fees—we were forced to pay extra after already paying in full. We wasted hundreds of dollars for two miserable nights. Don’t recommend this place!

+ Dear Booking com & the Business Owner-Lansdowne Hotel, Re: Carmen Brennan & James Topliss Accommodation, Booking com, Confirmation # 4495064916. Yesterday, my son James Topliss was discriminated and unlawfully evicted from the Lansdowne Hotel by Diego, Brian and Daniella was present listening to the incident &  situation. Brian and Diego said I can stay at the accommodation but they said my son James was evicted and he has to leave the premises, I told them I am not staying at the place and I would like all my money reimbursed back to me. Brian and Diego said it was already done on the computer and I should have my money back in 24 hours, it has now been 24 hours and I haven't received my money, as yet  I am now request again for my money back and please process it as soon as possible, so I can use my money to get an accommodation in Sydney, while I we are homeless. - There was no fairness and equality with the Lansdowne Hotel with the Manager for my son and the other guests.

+ Small hostel, friendly staff, very clean. Good internet connection. Close to shops and transport.

- On Friday and Saturday nights bands play so you can hear music in the hostel. If you like the music it is like a free concert. If you don't like the music, you need headphones.

+ Pefect little standalone room. The room I got was like a 4-star hotel when I was expecting something more like a 2-star motel situation. It was absolutely beautiful!

+ After a lot of hostel hopping, this hostel turned out to be my absolute favorite. It’s super clean, there’s plenty of space in the rooms, and also when storing your food in the kitchen. The very dedicated and friendly cleaning staff already approach you with a big smile early in the morning and give the hostel its charming character. Highly recommended—I’m happy to be here every single day.

+ Great location, check-in was easy and staff was very friendly. Room exceeded expectations. Liked having a fridge, ensuite bathroom and 'welcome pack' with free drink was a nice touch. Central location, would definitely stay again.

- Band on the rooftop was a bit noisy, but we were forewarned, and it was Saturday night in the heart of Sydney, so it was to be expected.

+ The cleaning was very good.

- No staff to talk to, have to use an app to get into the room, the floor or anywhere. Check in and check out through an app. Very not user friendly. The rooms are very small compared to the amount of people in a room. There a very loud noises and can hear all the music from the roof top which music is playing through the day very loud. Would not recommend and wont get back.

+ The room and bathrooms are clean. Kitchen is open 24/7.

- The noise when is a party in the club downstairs is too much. Vibration in the windows make impossible to rest. The kitche and laundry are in the same room so it gets very hot. The rooftop closes at 10, it would be nice to have it open 24/7. People from "reception" are not kind. The room of the showers is always wet and not that clean.
