The cominication was creepy from the start. My emails were not answered. I got the entering instructions by mail. The hostel was quite isolated. Luckily the very nice cleaning lady was around when i arived. She showed me around, but did not tell me f.i. how to close the outside door from the inside. I felt very unsafe. There was no staff around. My room was cold and damp, the sheets smelled funghy. I was glad i could leave the place and hope i have never to return.

When I arrived I was met by a man pretending not ro know was I was talking about when I said I had a booking. Turns out he was a "guess". He and a woman spent part of the night arguing, yelling, crying and slamming doors. When I told it to the owner in the morning, she offered nothing. Also, in the Hostelworld notice it says that breakfast was included. The owner said it was not and showed me a receipt that I had never received. Plus, she would only take cash for the balace paiement. Terrible.

The property is not properly prepared for paying guests. Rooms are full of the owner's belongings. Kitchen equipment is lacking. Bins missing. Taps and fittings broken. No hot water in some bathrooms.

The place had all the basics you need - a proper kitchen, several bathrooms, a comfortable bed! It wasn’t very high standard or cozy, and some of the people staying there didn’t feel like travellers but people needing a home. The owners were sweet but there is no proper check in or out, just through email. And you don’t need to pay with cash as stated in the booking!

Für Reisende, egal ob alleine oder als Kleingruppe, eine gute Möglichkeiten zum Übernachten - mehr aber auch nicht. Es handelt sich um eine Art Pension im Keller eines Familienhauses, Ausstattung ist ok, Atmosphäre eher naja. Wenn man low-budget reist und keine besonderen Ansprüche hat ok, als Mittelpunkt für einen schönen Urlaub eher weniger geeignet. Zugang zum Schwimmbad allerdings inklusive.

Lovely place

My whole family really enjoyed having the chance to talk with Barbara (our host). We had a terrific rest, and everything was very clean, though a little cluttered.

On arrival we were informed we would be staying in a different building but it was only a couple of minutes away and was actually a nicer place to stay. The location was convenient for our travel plans and very good value. Rooms and facilities were very clean and met all our requirements.

Host was very friendly and her warnings about midges at Glenveagh National Park were spot on! Couldn't get the water warm in the shower but that might've been user error. Comfortable and great value for the price.

I loved staying at this hostel. It has a very “at home” feeling and Barbara the host is so, so kind and welcoming. It’s in a small town and is very peaceful, which I really enjoyed. Only about an hour and a half drive to Giant’s Causeway and great sight seeing. Beautiful place to stay!!

We had a great stay: the hostel is a charming house, the host is really nice and will happily recommand you places to see, and tell you a bit more about the county. The hostel is also located 10 minutes walk form the city center, where there is a few nice pubs !

Excellent, homey place to stay in Letterkenny, right on the main street, with outstanding service.

Stayed 2 nights in cosy private room with facilities inside: kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge and water supply. My window lookеd on the silent garden, it was nice to leave it open overnight. Hostel is located in walking distance to the towncentre and in cycling distance to the Holy Sites related to St Colmcille. Barbara (the host) is very helpful. The atmosphere may disappoint a lover of noisy companies, yet it is nice for a sweet couple or a humble pilgrim looking for solitude. Will return!

Nice and affordable

It is located in an ambient location. It is 22 mins walk from Letterkenny, Bus Station, Gortlee, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. The Lady was very helpful, and our overall stay was great.
