Toni's Guest House

The bed in the lobby was so terrible it was just a sofa not a bed….cockroaches were running all around the floor …kitchen was cluttered….toilet and bath were surprisingly dirty…and one guy was also sleeping on the lobby bed and snoring loudly…!!Of course even at 4 am no staffs came and even after 9am they still didn’t do anything and any help for me.They just said “oh we will make your room after 10am”…of course they didn’t do anything even after 10am…Never trust their word...

Don’t book this hostel!!Absolutely worst hostel in the world! Nada recomendable. No me recogieron del aeropuerto, nadie me recibió y no sabía cómo entrar, había cucarachas, gusanos y muchos bichos en la habitación y la chica que me atendió era muy borde. Muy mala localización. Por favor, no perdáis el tiempo y no vayáis a este antro.

If you can, avoid this place! Cleanliness, it is acceptable, maybe 7-8 out of 10 But the 82 years owner is not really friendly, all he wants is money! The first thing he or his wife ask is when do you pay. Very unusual for the Pacific rim. Don’t count on getting any local information from them, they don’t know anything, or will not tell you anything. It is a pity. Pretty much everyone I met at the hostel, was thinking the same.

Place was clean and quiet. Would advise others to be careful - on my final morning, money that I had just placed in my wallet went missing as I had a shower, and only cleaning staff were present. Left me in an awkward situation as it was the last bit of local currency that I had put aside for lunch and to pay the driver for the ride to the airport.

The owner failed to mentioned that someone is staying in the other room. The guy came out in common area without any clothes on., NOTHING. It was couple who was staying in that room for extended period. I checked in late at night and I was told, no one else is in the facility. Since this is a house but the owner nor the staff live there. They come to clean during the day, that's about it. I never saw Tony again except to check me in.

This place was really not clean. Bugs everywhere! And stains on towels and bedding. It also had zero security, no locks on bedroom or bathroom doors. This normally isn’t an issue as Tonga is a very safe place but with a pre-existing review claiming that a member of staff stole from a customer, this was off putting. I requested to leave after my first night. Toni had told me that bugs are common in Tonga. They are and I have no problem with bugs but his place way worse than other accommodations...

Everything was excellent from the airport pick up. Friendly and helpful. Security was helpful and good maybe he should learn to be good to customers and not take advantage of their generosity! Everything was great. Shower pressure was not the best. A few things needed fixing inside plus there was no toilet paper in the toilet. Just small things but I would stay again. It’s feels homely. Etwas ab vom Schuss, aber Leni und Toni fahren Dich zu jeder Zeit für 10 Tonga Dollar ins Stadtzentrum und holenDich dort auch wieder ab. Die private Tour über die Insel für stolze 300 Tonga Dollar ist sehr zu empfehlen. Sie dauerte bei mir 8 Stunden und ich habe super viel erfahren! Mein Zimmer war einfach, Klo und Dusche extra und klein, aber ok. Küche ok - Draußen-Essplatz unterm Brotfruchtbaum.

Toni is THE man about town in the area. Whatever you need or want to do, he can get it done. Quite a good storyteller as well. The property is immaculate! And the gardens are shady and beautiful; perfect for lazy days or Tongan Sundays. Transport to airport is also a really nice amenity. I will be back.

Toni and Lenny have a nice guest house available. We stayed 2 nights and were very happy with the stay. Reasonably priced too if you’re just planning on spending a night on the mainland.

Toni's is the cheapest place to stay in Tonga. He picked me up at the airport at 1 am. The main reason to stay here is to get to know Toni. At 82, he has lived in Tonga for 31 years, always in the guest house business. Take Toni's tour of the island where he has a wealth of knowledge and provides a very complete tour - I saw everything. Enjoy his wry wit - I found him hilarious.

The rooms were nice and comfy. Helpful staff. Big common area with couches and a kitchen is a big plus. The location is a little off from the town, but it is still possible to walk and taxis are affordable. We had no warm water for showering. I would be happy to go there again.

Very good stay with Mr. Toni. He took care of me well touring me around the island.

Good value. Toni and Leni run the place and are happy to drive you into town or pick you up whenever you need it. The location is far enough to offer quiet nights yet close enough to be downtown in ten minutes or less.
