I feel compelled to share my experience regarding my recent stay at Zinc Old Town. Having traveled to 38 countries, I found the hygiene and service standards at your establishment to be unlike any I had ever experienced elsewhere. Everything looked clean, but during my 7-day stay I realized they waited 3–4 days to change the sheets, even between guests. The owner said that because the rooms were budget, she couldn’t wash them that often. It was disgusting to know we were sleeping on used sheets. She only cared about appearances and avoiding bad reviews, not real cleanliness.
Waited outside ringing the buzzer, calling and emailing them to be able to be buzzed in to enter the building to check in although gave up after an hr and tried again a couple hrs later and had to again wait half an hr to be let in with not much apology from the staff.
Awesome location just off Town Hall Square .... other than that ? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Ich bekam keine richtige Begrüßung beim Check-in. Personal sprach kaum Englisch, dadurch Kommunikation sehr schwierig. Ich wollte wissen, wie ich meinen Code beim Locker einstellen kann, es wurde mir unfreundlich und inkompetent erklärt. Als mir meine Zimmernachbarin nach der ersten Nacht eine fette, blutige Bettwanze zeigte, war für mich klar, dass ich abreisen. Ich möchte festhalten, dass mir die Managerin ein anderes Zimmer anbot, aber für mich war die Geschichte erledigt.
I didn't get a proper greeting at check-in. The staff barely spoke English, making communication very difficult. I wanted to know how to set my Code at the locker, it was declared unfriendly and incompetent. When my room neighbour showed me a fat, bloody Bettwanze after the first night, it was clear to me that I was leaving. I want to point out that the Manager offered me another room, but for me the story was done.
Unfriendly stuff, looked like he hated when I asked for help. Slept in a room with 5 others, where one of the guests was a homeless guy screaming every like 30-40min after he went to bed. The place didn’t feel safe at all. The bathroom and the rooms were not clean.
Awful property. Check in process chaotic, luckily one of us knew Russian otherwise the process would be impossible. Receptionist seemed to be on the phone to the owner of the hostel and seemed confused. Loud at night due to karaoke bar below, zero atmosphere, uncomfortable experience. Homeless living in the hostel and sh*tting on the floor, bedbugs in the bed. AVOID
Avoid this place if you can: low quality, total rip off. Extremely noisy rooms, no sleep at night. Reception is empty most of the time. The one and only employee can hardly speak any English. Old, weary furniture and common areas, bad smell. In the morning drug addict in coma lying in front of the entry door upstairs. I stayed one night, the hostel charged me three nights (despite canceling weeks before, several phone calls and e-mails). My worst hostel experience ever is Zinc Old Tallin Hostel.
The staff was rude, and the whole hostel had a terrible smell. We were put in a room with staff and long term residents, and we did not meet another tourist during our stay. There is no common area to hang out, only the kitchen, which was disgusting and very much 'claimed' by a long term residing russian couple. The housekeeper complained about not being able to keep up with the cleaning, but worked for Wolt during work hours. We felt unsafe, and very uncomfortable. Find another place to stay.

I appreciate how clean this place was and the location was amazing. The staff were rarely available and it was hard to get in contact with them. I waited 30 minutes at the front desk one day. I wouldn’t stay here again since it was so difficult to communicate with them.
An unknown lady from my room became violent for no reason towards me and another host. We won't know if she has psychological issues or was just drunk. The receptionist handled the situation very dangerously by locking the two of us with the agressive lady. We could not open the door with our own keys. We had to yell for the receptionist to let us out, he then watched the lady start to attack me before intervening. At least he called the police and gave us another room.
The hostel is on two buildings basically. I notice that the rooms closer to the entry were all with no guests, yet I stayed in a room very further from the entrance, and one level above, I don’t understand why… also men used the women’s toilet which left me a bit uncomfortable. Rather from that, the room was good. Also I received no instructions for the check in, which made me have to call an Estonian number of ANOTHER hostel that was posted at the door (which costs money to call)

Very clean and charming hostel with space bedroom. You have everything that you want in the kitchen. Nevertheless, to enter in the hostel it's really difficult. No instructions before and nothing at the door to understand how to open it. I stayed 30 mins outside. It could be stressed. We should have instructions or door code before. Staff is good first but after they can be a little bit rude if there is any issue

Everything good, the room nice and clean. One of the lady always keep organize the stuff and clean up the WC and kitchen area. But the worst thing is the pub across the street!!! Music and talking all night long until 5am!!!!
Great hostel, facilities are so clean, the manager is an extremely kind woman working so hard to keep good image of her lovely hostel. Free coffe and tea , and load of free food to use too. I was satisfied with the stay, there was 2 bed bugs on my bed , but that's it. Otherwise all is clean and fine 👌

IT WAS AMAZING. So clean, quiet atmosphere, wholesome receptionist (probably owner) who walked up and down the stairs to check each and every traveller in by showing them the bed, locker, bathroom, and kitchen. There seemed to be insufficient toilets but somehow there was no crowd, it was clean and good. I love it and I 1000% recommend. Only tiny downside is you have to climb stairs to the reception, then another flight up if you’re staying in the dorms. ENJOY
Everything was how it was expected to be. We had no problems, only concerning the mixed bedroom cleaniness. There was a person who smelled really badly and it was impossible to be inside long. We did not report it to the person that was taking care of the Hostel, so no complait can be made. Overall very good price quality relation!

Très bien situé en plein centre ville. Sécurisé car code d’accès pour rentrer. Cuisine à disposition. Propreté correcte. Attention au bruit du karaoke en dessous et dans la rue (toute la nuit jusqu’à 6h du matin). Personnel pourrait être plus aimable. Rideaux transparents dans les chambres. Pas énormément de toilettes dans l’auberge.
Very well located right in the city center. secure car access code for getting home. kitchen at disposal. proper cleanliness. attention to karaoke noise below and in the street (all night until 6 am). staff could be nicer. transparent curtains in the rooms. not a lot of toilets in the hostel.
The location was great, super central in the old town. Had a couple issues, like when I checked in no one was there and I had to wait awhile. Also a random woman approached me thinking I was staff and asked about costs. Overall, it was a good base for my trip.
The lady who owns the hostel is very nice. There was a guest snoring loudly in the room due to a medical condition and she moved him to solve the problem. Very central location as well. Decent value. Overall good

I had a lovely time over there, Renata and her son were so helpfully and friendly. The kitchen facilities are very nice and there are a lot of things that you can use. I can not wait to come back.
Good option for the price
