Tribu Hostel

Wouldn’t recommend this hostel - think it is very overpriced compared to hostels on Holbox. It felt quite dirty, hot with lots of mosquitos and there wasn’t much of a vibe

It’s a good, social hostel if you’re staying in a dorm and keen to do activities, go out etc. The staff are also very nice. We’re a couple and booked a private room which was by far the most expensive of our trip. The room was near the bar so we couldn’t sleep til 1am. The room was also pretty basic for the price (no bedside tables, hairdryer). We found a huge cockroach in the bathroom which got in through the ceiling, and got bitten by bedbugs. The kitchen was also quite dirty. O...

The gas wasn't working so there was no hot water nor use of the kitchen. I asked to give classes in the hostel during my stay . She never wanted me to, but instead of saying so from the start, the staff gave me the slots and then told me I couldn't do them - when I already had paying customers who booked - and saying that I had a bad energy. I felt really uncomfortable and unwelcome.

Common areas are fine, but the dorms are horrible. You have to make your bed yourself, there are no proper curtains so at 6am you wake up. The mattresses are some of the worst I've experienced so far.

Watch out for this Hostal they will try and charge you more. Very unclear on the website which rooms have aircon. Slow and rude staff member during the check-in process. Small room with leaking bathroom. Cleaning staff were lovely and very efficient. Music is ridiculously loud until the early hours of the morning! Great location but not worth the price at all!

The hostel has a nice location and has a cosy vibe. The rooms and showers aren’t really clean and there are too little showers for the amount of people in the hostel. They organise a lot of nice activities, but it isnt the most social hostel (I think because the common area isnt that “common”). Met enough nice people though :)

I really did not like my stay. I had a private room and it felt like a rip off. No AC. No breakfast just Cofee. No service at all, and the worst place ever for meeting people

Prijs kwaliteit verhouding was zeer matig. Wij hebben ruim 90,- betaalt voor een kleine prive kamer met ventilator. Kamer was plakkerig, klein en ons verblijf viel ons daarom een beetje tegen. Bed was mega hard, de douche werkte niet naar behoren, was koud en op de tweede dag viel de elektriciteit en water zelfs een ochtend uit. Personeel is vriendelijk en openbare keuken prima.

The private is not worth the money. The general upkeep needs some work. Overall it’s okay tho! Nice staff and good location.

the vibe in this hostel is really nice and the outside area is peferct for relaxing or socializing and they offer many good activities The rooms were very basic, no curtains, no towels, just one shower for 10 people and they only turn on the AC at night but it is still very hot so you can't really sleep well Overall a good place to meet people

Good hostel overall. The only downside was that there was only one shower and toilet for the 10 bed dorm.

Gezellig hostel met leuke dagelijkse activiteiten. Geen gordijn bij de bedden, maar dat stoorde me niet. Vlak bij het strand en genoeg eet en drink plekken in de buurt.

Loved this hostel so much, great location, beautiful hostel and great staff. It has free activities you can join and really good shared spaces. 100% recommend and would book again. The easiest 5/5 review.

Sehr gute Lage, nettes Personal, saubere große Zimmer. Könnte etwas sozialer sein, vlt 1-2 Aktivitäten mehr.

We had a great stay at this hostel. The atmosphere was great, very social and there were lots of activities to meet people and explore the island. The bar in the hostel was great too. The only downsides we found were there were no curtains at all on the beds so there was no privacy, the pillows were very poor quality and the sheets didn’t fit the bed so kept coming off. Despite this though, we’d definitely come back as everything else made up for the negatives

I loved Tribu Hostel. They have a lot of free and fun activities. It’s located perfectly

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. Facilities are all good, beach is close, bar is fun. More importantly the workers and volunteers put a lot of effort into organizing activities and giving the place a welcoming and social vibe. Damn near broke my heart to leave but I got sick, I’ll be back in a few weeks.

I liked this hostel overall. I stayed in the female dorm, 10 people is just too much especially without curtains. It was super damp and gross in there, I hated it. People were nice. Activities were super overpriced, I think a hostel should do activities so people can meet and have a good time. I felt like they were just out to make money. Shower also gross. It was so so overall

Hostel is in a good location by the beach and has good facilities but wouldn’t say it’s overly social although the island seemed quiet on the whole while we were there

a fab, relaxing place to stay in Holbox 🙏. I loved the yoga and sound baths (shout out to Alan and Ricardo 💙). Kitchen is small but has everything you need with a lovely eating area overlooking the garden. really good location for getting everywhere in Holbox. the bar has live music most nights too which is a huge plus

I loved my stay. The hostel is in a perfect location for activities and socialising. The staff were all so friendly. There were so many options for activities and the breakfast was delicious 🫶🏼

Tribu est un super hostel. Équipe très agréable. Proposition d’activités. Facile de rencontrer du monde et hyper bien placé à 5min à pieds du centre. Il manque juste des rideaux au lit et ça serait le top! Je recommande sans hésiter 😘

I had a great stay at Tribu. The hostel is big and it looks very pretty. There’s lots of activities planned by the hostel. The location is perfect and the staff is really nice. This is my favourite hostel thusfar! It’s really worth the money :)

place was a little rustic but still a lovely place to stay. nice location and rooms were clean. one of the only hostels we stayed in while travelling mexico with hot showers!!
