Casinhas no Carolina - Hostel

This place is like a museum, with all the rules and regulations you might expect there. Movement detection and cameras all over the place, which means the kitchen light switches off every 5 minutes, difficult if you want to read or eat as you have to move all the time. Poor Wifi (in common areas you have to login again every 3-4 minutes, private rooms a little better). No wardrobes or shelfs to store your personal items in. Unexpected roomservice (they told me there WILL be a change of bedsheets after 3 nights (no option here), but they came in after 2 nights. Before they start cleaning they take fotos of all your personal items (7 fotos in my case). I regarded this as a severe intrusion of privacy. When I asked them please not to do it again they became almost hostile. Pillows and bedsidelamps are not to be touched but only for decoration (I used them for reading). And last thing: although the place seems very clean I noticed 12 itchy bites after the second night. Maybe thatswhy the fuss about obligatory roomservice. Bedbugs seem to be a problem in the area. I stayed there 5 nights for a language course and I am not a particularly messy or untidy person. I try to keep to the rules generally but here I wouldn’t come back ever. This was the weirdest experience.
