Ventana Azul Surf Hostel

Tenía mejores expectativas del lugar, pues tenía muy buenas calificaciones, pero las taquillas eran muy pequeñas y la maleta tiene que ir debajo de la cama. La limpieza de los WC y las duchas era regular/deficiente. Los colchones viejos, sucios y con manchas.

No se por donde empezar a enumerar todo lo malo que tiene este hostel. Sinceramente cada día me convencí que había tomado una mala decisión al contratarlos: 1. Nadie del staff habla una palabra en español, cuando Gran Canaria es parte de españa. 2. Las puertas de las habitaciones NO TIENEN LLAVE. Es decir, vos estás durmiendo y cualquiera te abre la puerta si quiere. 3. La estructura en sí es nefasta, es una casa hecha hostel, con pésima disposición, no hay privacidad. 4. Las par...

Welcoming atmosphere. Close to sea and Spar store. Comfortable dorm beds with curtains, lights and power for phone charging. Well equipped kitchen. Only dislike was smoking permitted on roof terrace. Supposed to be uncovered area only but ash trays and smokers under covered area during my stay.

The mattresses (and I stayed in two different beds) were not great - I was sinking within minutes of laying down. It could be also a bit cleaner, but perhaps it’s the facilities - especially showers and toilets - that were a bit dated and therefore didn’t look as clean as they could. The vibe overall was more about surfing and going out rather than exploring the island, but I guess that depends on the people you meet.

Well done Thomas for high German standards. La Venta Azul new premise is way better than the previous one. The only complain I have is your volunteers. Last time it was a half Austrian, some French and Italian and this time an Aussi and a German. Considering the history of these countries no surprise. That's why I moved to London 6 years ago and never went back to Europe. I earn +10 Thousands pound a month but I prefer your hostel to a nice hotel.

The beds are great with curtains. The stuff which consists mostly of volunteers is a little bit unfriendly and not that outgoing. Just in General but some of them are really nice after some time. There is no free filtered water. It’s nice here but it’s missing a heart. I had better vibes during my stay in aguita. Yet the kitchen is really nice as it’s outside and the facilities are good.

Muy buen hostel. Una atmósfera muy buena y gente +30 lo cuál se agradece. Todo el mundo muy amable y bastante limpio. Quizás lo típico: mejorar un poco los colchones y almohadas (las básica de Ikea) y que salga agua más caliente de la ducha. Repetiré!

Super cute little hostel with welcoming efficient staff in a great location for the surfing end of Las Canterras beach, 30 meters from the seafront. Roof terrace with kitchen is especially nice. Rooms & common spaces can be a little cramped when busy… but no more so than any other hostel of this type. All round friendly vibe - particularly recommend if you’re a surfer.

Had the best time, so easy to meet people and the location is perfect for surfing!

great stay! they do activities every day and all the voulenteers are really nice and contributes to a great atmosphere. there's a rooftop where people hang around as well as two kitchens to cook your food. i had a problem with my bed and management was quick to solve it by offerering me a private room to solve the issue. awesome! theres a lot of guests are revisiting here bc they enjoy it. the hostel is also right by the beach and super close to multiple supermarkets. 10/10

Amazing hostel, great atmosphere, everyone is friendly and it is easy to meet new people. The hostel organizes activities, free or for a small fee, and has a great rooftop. The location is great next to the sea and with nice coffee places and tapas bars on walking distance. The location is further away from the old town and bigger bus station. The room was a bit warm, but the beds were comfortable. I think it was perfectly fine to stay here as a non-surfer, even though most people do surf.

I stayed here 3 nights and it was an unforgettable experience. Perfect location, friendly staff, and great amenities (including a sunny terrace with a view). I highly recommend staying here especially if you are a solo traveler hoping to meet people and catch some waves.

Really nice place to stay. So close to beach n lots of organised activities. The team of staff are so helpful and welcoming. Nice rooftop chill out spot also.

beautiful hostel with warm welcoming atmosphere! also there are lots of events such as movie or taco night, pancake breakfast and several activities. i can really recommend the free trip to ventana verde and hike in the valley! the view was stunning:D

Le pied à terre parfait pour Gran Canaria : les dortoirs sont confortables et l’ambiance est incroyable.

Everyone is serious about surfing here. Since it’s a small island, many roommates were out for hours. I realized if you don’t surf, you might feel left out. I came to recuperate and stay low-key, but Carnival season whisked me away to great parties. The staff are awesome, especially Zanetta, who encouraged me to take my first surf lesson. The owner is a rock star too; he professionally handled a noise complaint against me, vouching for everyone involved. A great experience overall.

Amazing week at Ventana Azul, easy to meet people and hangout with them. Only inconvenient is the restricted opening times of rooftop and kitchen.

Me gustó mucho el hostel, disfruté mucho de la terraza, súper cómodo para cocinar. Respetan mucho las horas de descanso , por lo que después de las 22:30 no puedes usar los espacios comunes . Me sentí muy cómoda y pude descansar . Lo único que no me gustó es que la puerta de mi Habitación ( femenina de 4) la puerta hacia mucho ruido, imposible no despertarse, la habitación era pequeña y no funcionaba el wifi ahí.

The hostel is really well located, just a few meters from the beach. There are many restaurants, supermarkets, and surf schools in the area. The staff are great and the kitchen is reasonably well equipped. The Christmas dinner was great, even though it rained. From the airport, the hostel is easy to reach by bus (lines 60 or 91) to the Santa Catalina stop, and then it’s a relaxed walk from there. Of course, you could also take another bus from there.

It was such a nice experience staying at this surf hostel! 🫶🏻 The people were really nice, the beds were comfortable, and staying in an 8-bed dorm with a sea view was so cool because we could hear the waves from our room. If you’re traveling solo, it’s a really good choice to come here—they have activities and a rooftop space where everyone gathers, making it easy to meet people. Thank you so much! 🏄🏻‍♀️❤️

Tolles Hostel direkt am Meer, tolle Lage, viele Restaurants und Surfervibes pur. Es ist dort sehr sozial und auf dem Rooftop kommt man immer ins Gespräch mit anderen. Bei den Zimmern würde ich eins mit Oceanview wählen, da es sonst stickig werden könnte. Ich war dann im 6 Bett female dorm auf dem Rooftop und sehr zufrieden. Anfahrt mit Bus auch problemlos.
