Ça peut quand même bien se passer avec un peu de chance et un effort de sociabilité, mais ce n'est pas pensé pour rencontrer du monde facilement.

One of our rooms had bedbugs. Staff blamed us for bringing them, were either rude or useless, and only offered €25 in compensation despite the room costing €75 a night (we stayed for 3 nights). The bathrooms were substandard, one of the toilets wasn’t bolted to the floor properly, making it precarious to use. The shower doors were completely transparent, and the door to the shower room didn’t lock so don’t expect privacy in the shower. Just spend a little extra money and stay somewhere without bedbugs, with competent staff and actual bathrooms.

The bathrooms were far from our sleeping room. I got bed bugs from my single bed

    Bedbugs everywhere!

We booked a triple room and the double bed had begbugs. My husband and I had bites all over the body, even on my face. I told the reception on our second night and he was happy to change our rooms which I appreciate. Just the trouble of buying creams and 2nights of itching. No elevator. If it wasn’t for the bedbugs I would’ve rated this hotel high. Big rooms and so many places to eat around. Transport is close 7 and 15 minutes. Close to Berlin Wall

Bed bugs!! Hostile shower design :( TL;DR: I really regret going to die fabrik hostel, And not only because of the bed bugs. The showers were awful. Except for the first receptionist, the staff was either passive-agressive or straight out rude. I should have known that by the way the hotel manager, Olaf, reply to other reviews on Google, like jooking about their English grammar, Which is unrelated and disgusting, or just plain claiming that the guests are lying or even didn't exist in their list, hence they must be evil people, just trying to hurt the poor hotel's good name. I highly recommend also checking the Google reviews for this place Can't waut to see how Olaf will react to me, because I have proofs for every claim. Let me tell the whole story. So, we arrived at the hostel about a week ago. There was a suprise charge for bed sheets, first time I have encountered it but ok, many cheap hostel squeeze a bit more cash out of you when you already there and don't have a choice. When i asked the receptionist about that, telling her that on booking it was specifically mentioned that all of the extra fees were already paid. She said that it is mentioned somewhere, i just haven't looked for it good enough, and "that's prices politics for you". Annoying, but ok, it's was about 2.70 each btw. Next, we went to the rooms. They looked nice and clean. We had to arrange our own beds, and then tried to finally take a long post festival shower. We failed. The showers has a contraption that closes the water automatically, probably to save water and energy. Great Idea, good for the environment, good for the prices. Of only the contraption was reasonable, I was contempt. I did just came from a festival, I slept in a tent, had cold showers, I didn't needed much to be happy. The contraption problems were: 1. Every push gives you only a few seconds of water. Not two minutes, not one, a few seconds!! I'll upload a video. 2.

I don't deserve getting a carpal tunnel inflammation for wanting the take a long shower, and when a hostel promises showers, he shouldn't supply shower that pushes you out of it. It's ok to save water and energy, it's not ok to build your shower so uncomfortable so people won't use them as they wish. Having 2 showers for boys and 2 more for girls in the whole floor might explain why they pulled off such a nasty trick. When I compleind to the receptionist next morning, her answer was that I should go to another floor to look for a shower that last a bit longer than 3 seconds. I also remember her being kind of rude about it, but i was so disappointed, maybe it affected my judgement. On the last morning we found bed bugs. Yes, bed bugs. A lut. We have pictures. My friend got bites all over herself. Now, dear reader who survived reading this long review, I advise you to picture for a moment how would you expect a hostel to react when such thing happen. Be fair. Bed bugs are a problem all hotels are dealing with every once in a while. Die fabrik hostel, tried to get out of it cheap. At first he offered one night of compensation. After my friend explained that that's doesn't make her happy, they agreed to give us back both nights we stayed there. I expect not only full return, but also my clothes and bag to be cleaned professionally, either by the hotel or by me, with compensation from the hostel. We got no help about our now contaminated equipment and clothing.

We stayed in 108 and found bed bug bites all over our bodies after 2 nights of staying here. They refunded us the money for our stay but laundry will have to be done at our expense. The worst is the itchyness and the feeling of disgust we gotta deal with now. Old hostel with carpet floors might be the optimal breeding ground for bed bugs. Hostel is quiet and in good location though.

First night at the hostel went fine. Troubles started at the second night when we found bed bugs all over our walls (we checked for them at the arrival but didn't see any then). Staff was great about it and handled it well. We slept in another room for the night and didn't see any bed bugs there. We were also compensated for the trouble. Staff was polite and helpful overall.

I really enjoyed this hostel and didn’t have a lot of the problems people are taking about. We lucked out being on the first floor right by the bathrooms, all girls shared, lockers in the rooms for our bags. Lock for 4€ at the desk you can keep. A large window that led into the courtyard so there was a decent breeze. Courtyard was peaceful. It’s cheap, so you get what you pay for. I checked for bed bug signs after seeing the reviews but couldn’t find anything, fingers crossed. There was a lingering smell like a stale locker room. My friend was bothered by it, I didn’t really notice it to often and just ignored it. The showers were interesting in that you needed to keep pushing the button every like thirty seconds but I think that’s to save water and it made the shower entertaining. The doors do lock. The lights constantly flickering the entire shower time was annoying but not the worst. Bathrooms were cleaned every day on this floor. Berlin is for going out and this was perfect as a simple place to sleep, the location was near tons of delicious cheap food (best Indian food I’ve had in ages) clubs, book stores, young people walking around smoking and getting coffee, easy to reach the metro to get to other areas with fantastic museums. Close to the river for walks, yes you will encounter a lot of people staying in the park but we never had any problems. The reception staff were nice enough when I had questions and at check in.

The location was very convenient being close to the trams and trains. However the property was not clean at all. There were several days I was in the room while the housemaids came in and all they would do is give the beds different dirty sheets and leave. The bathroom was a mess and there was a black hair that sat on the sink for 3 days which shows it was never cleaned. I had found bed bugs in my bed as well. The atmosphere is people between 30-70.

I’m pretty sure I got bitten by bed bugs at night. :(

Bedbugs - all my body was covered with bites in the next morning. Although nice place with potential, very run down, a party place, people in my room took hard drugs.
