Well. It was a very terrible experience, It had suddenly turned into a sex maniacs' paradise. People inside the dorms were having sex like bunnies. One night I woke up to the sound of sex in the opposite bed, there were no curtains, so I had to spend the night outside. . Few days later, two other people decided to repeat the same feat, this time in the bed next to mine. I informed the management that I wanted to leave. The morning I was leaving, I went to bathroom, people having sex there,
Nous avons détesté notre expérience dans cet hostel : le pire en trois mois de voyage. On s’est senti en insécurité à cause d’un personnel malveillant et très agressif (la dame tatouée avec des dread à l’accueil du matin). Les dortoirs sont ouverts 24-24 et nous sommes entassés dans des petites chambres. La SDB est très sale car tout le monde y va avec ses chaussures. Nous n’avions qu’une envie : partir.
We hated our experience in this hostel: the worst in three months of travel. we felt insecure because of a malevolent and very aggressive staff (the lady tattooed with dreads at the morning reception). the dorms are open 24-24 and we are crammed into small rooms. the SDB is very dirty because everyone goes there with their shoes. we just had a craving: to leave.
I really wanted to give Summer a 5* review, and I was just one night away from doing so. My first 5 nights were perfect. The staff are friendly, Katie especially. The atmosphere is social but not a party. The rooms are good. But on my last night I woke up with a lot of bites in rows on my arms. There was also rustic stains on the sheets. These are two tell tale signs of bed bugs. Hopefully it gets sorted soon because I genuinely loved my stay here but I can’t bring myself to give it a 5* revie...
Not the cleanest hostel. Watch out when booking as the cheaper rooms don’t have air con & we didn’t realise till we arrived so read the small print! The heat was pretty unbearable at night.
Would not recommend at all. Rooms were very, very crammed and smelled bad with no curtains. Bathroom was very old with no privacy. The staff I met was extremely rude and it just had a really strange vibe to it. Not sure if I missed something but I do not understand the good reviews - just have to be honest.
Bit of a walk from Saree beach but we came to appreciate that! We stayed in a private double room and it felt so overpriced, the bed was rock hard and there wasn’t really an atmosphere. I’d like to say you get what you pay for but….
I wouldn’t recommend this hostel. Rooms with AC cost extra, as do towels, which is unusual compared to most hostels. The bathroom was not very clean and the toilets had a strong smell. There are no curtains for privacy in the dorms. I even found a centipede in my bed, which reflects the overall cleanliness of the rooms. One night, someone even had sex with a stranger in the dorm, which was completely inappropriate and very disturbing. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was not very social either.
Für ein Doppelzimmer in dem die Dusche direkt über dem WC hängt doch etwas teuer für Hostelpreise. Es hatte kleine verdrückte Mückchen auf dem Bett und die Tücher hatten gelbe Flecken. Das WC lief immer wieder aus und überschwemmte.Sie betteten und leerten die Eimer einmal am Tag, das war sehr gut. Balkon war angenehm. For a double room in which the shower hangs directly over the toilet, it was a bit expensive for hostel prices. It had little fucking mosquitoes on the bed and the rugs had yellow spots. The toilet kept running out and flooding. They laid and cleaned the Eimer once a day, which was very good. The balcony was pleasant. The staff were between annoyed by us and our concerns but there were also very motivated staff. The location was super Mega!!! Roller rental directly at the Hostel.
got bitten by insects while sleeping. Not sure what but it got infected. cheap for the island amd seemed friendly but id rather have paid a couple extra for a better hostel.

Summer Hostel is a gem amongst the hostel scene in Koh Tao. The staff are super helpful and friendly, and the atmosphere is very social without being party. I stayed in the AC dorm which had comfy beds with wrap-around curtains and large lockers per person. Showers were hot too, albeit not the strongest pressure, but this is expected on an island. The cafe next door is awesome as well! Overall, I’m very happy I stayed here and hope to return soon. I can 100% recommend this to solo travellers.

showers are outside and full of bugs, the shower als didnt stay attached to the wall so had to hold it while i was showering. staff really friendly and a good vibe

+relativ zentrale Lage (nicht im Trubel aber schnell dort & großer Supermarkt gegenüber) + Aufenthaltsbereich & Küche - starker Rauchgestank im Aufenthaltsraum (zieht in die Zimmer) - keine Handtücher inklusive - Toilette oft defekt - Atmosphäre eher schlecht nur zum Übernachten in Ordnung
Relatively central Location (not in the trouble but quickly there & large Supermarket opposite) + Aufenthaltsbereich & Küche - stronger Rauchgestank im Aufenthaltsraum (see in the room) - no Handtücher included - Toilets often defective - Atmosphere rather bad only to the Übernachten in Ordnung
We had a very mixed experience here. The location was good and the place itself was nice. However we experienced some rude, cold and ignorant encounters from the staff. The cleanliness was below all expectations. There was hair and dirt in and around the sink. And also empty water bottles and shower articles scattered everywhere like it was someone private room. There was sand in the shower all day. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned once during our stay. The hostel cafe was nice and fairly cheap⭐�...

Die Zimmer waren NIE abgeschlossen, deswegen konnte jeder ein und ausgehen im Zimmer. Wirklich sauber fand ich’s jetzt nicht. Die Betten sind auch nicht die neusten & die Bettdecken sind die reinste Katastrophe. Fürs Leben ohne AC muss man auch gemacht sein, in den Zimmern ist es nämlich sehr warm. Die ältere Frau die an der Rezeption saß fand ich jetzt auch nicht ganz so freundlich. Der Mann war dafür ein richtig lieber !! Für KohTao halt nh billiges Hostel.Man sollte nicht viel erwa...
The rooms were NEVER locked, so everyone could enter and exit the room. Really clean I found now not. The beds are not the nose and the bed covers are the absolute disaster. For a life without air conditioning you must also be made, because in the rooms it is very warm. The older woman who sat at the reception I found now not quite so friendly either. The man was a real dear!! For KohTao stop cheap nhes Hostel.One should not expect much.
Good hostel and value for money. We stayed in a mixed dorm room with a fan and the beds were comfortable and fit for purpose. Hostel staff were friendly and social. The only compliant would be they have a cockroach issue in the bathroom area. Showers & toilet were full of cockroaches and ran over my foot
Preis Leistung stimmt für mich. Mein Zimmer war sauber und das Hostel in einer guten Lage. Mich persönlich hat es ein bisschen gestört dass der außenbereich sofort an die straße gerichtet war. Somit konnte man ständig Roller und Autos vorbeifahren sehen und hören.
My room was clean and the hostel in a good location. personally it bothered me a bit that the outdoor area was immediately facing the street. so you could constantly see and hear Rollers and Cars passing by.
My stay at Summer was awesome I highly recommend it. A big thank you to all of the staff.
Really lovely staff and volunteers making a really good environment to be part of ! Next time I would book an AC room as the fans did not cool the room down enough, but it was manageable.
Really underrated hostel on Koh Tao Not super expensive which is hard to find in high season on the island Location is offs as well there is a mini mart across the street ,an atm and the beach is about a 10 minute walk. The rooms are pretty simpel but clean Really nice social atmosphere and the staff is incredibly kind
I slept in a private which was my nicest stay in Thailand! Clean with a cute balcony. It’s 15/10 min walk to the main area which I personally didn’t mind. If u want to do scuba diving do know most of the operators are at the pier so that’s 40 min walk or need to rent a bike.
After a 40 min walk from the pier you reach the Hostel. It is across a 24h supermarket and not to far away from the diving school of your choice. Check in is at 2pm and the rooms are clean. One encounter with a cockroach at early morning in the bathroom though.
really loved our stay here, very chill atmosphere and good dorm rooms, very cute dogs. good location as directly opposite a big shop, but 15 mins walk to the beach. really recommend for the price
Lovely hostel! Great atmosphere, thanks to two amazing volunteers who organize fun activities and create a very friendly, social vibe. The reception staff were also very nice and helpful. The downsides are that the hostel is a bit far from the beach, and the locker where you could store valuables was accessible from the street. There was also no proper space for your backpack and clothes. However, the lack of air conditioning was not a major issue for me.
Very Nice people and personel, very respectful and helpful. The rooms are small, but still spaceous enough. The beds have curtains so thats nice. The only bad thing was that the beds in the room we had were very hard, it was like sleeping on rock. Other than that, really good!
