Hostel Villa Bonita

+ Location

- Hosts weren't around to check me in even though they knew I was arriving when I did after a long drive, I had to wait for them which left me very little time of light in the city. Breakfest is served between 7-8:30 which is early plus no one informed me on this. I found out at 9 and had to argue to get food. Facilities are basic, some rooms are facing the street and are therefor not quiet enough.

+ This place offers garbage service!

- I had a booking with them through booking.com and they sent me a message to say they were cancelling with no "reasonable reason" ( 30 min before my arrival in Riobamba) their excuse was that my name on booking looked fake which is complete garbage because its the name on my passport. This hostal instead gave my booked room to someone else most likely who arrived at their reception with no reservation, just so they can bypass booking com and having to pay commission! The receptionist is extremely rude, i dont know how the owner has people like this.

- Mi mala experiencia depende de los otros huéspedes que fingen compartir.ademas unos tuvieron sexo en la habitación!! (animales!)noche 14-15,por suerte pude cancelar mis próximas noches y irme.

- L'attitude de la patronne qui dès que vous arrivez, elle vous vend des treks qui ne se passent pas comme prévu voir impossible à faire. Surtout avec les prix des treks très élevés. Donc méfiance. Il vaut mieux chercher par soi-même vos activités

+ It was pretty clean.

- We didn‘t feel welcome, the owner (women) was really arrogant. I don’t care what she will comment on this review, but that’s the way we felt. She gave us sh** because we only stayed 1 night and because we only speak very little spanish, even though she speaks perfect english. We never experienced that in Ecuador before. The breakfast is A JOKE, I don‘t know why everybody says it‘s great: bread, eggs and a banana. You could take some coffee, yoghurt and jam (the jam was in a big pot and I guess they scraped of the mold, because it tasted definitely moldy). The showers downstairs (which was the only one working properly, that‘s also what the owner told us to be fair) are see through. I know, there are other showers upstairs, but they are electric, so they are not good for washing long hair or/and wanting hot water. It was very loud in the morning because of traffic. Their dogs jumped on us the whole time while we were eating. Didn‘t like the location of the hostel. Really overpriced for what you get.

+ Breakfast included which is great! Perfect before a doing a nearby hike. Rooms are very modern and comfortable :)

- In a rogue location but I feel like people don't come to Riobamba for the city, they come for the nearby hiking

+ Great and really cosy and atmopsheruc place. Huge boxes in the rooms. Staff is really helpful.

+ The hostel is great! The staff and the place are welcoming! Breakfast was also very good!

- The cabinets in the room were not perfectly clean and the outlets a bit hard to reach, but these are very minor aspects! Everything was very nice

+ Nettes und hilfreiches Personal, super komfortable und breite Betten, Doppelstockbetten mit Treppe, großer Locker, gutes Frühstück. Bäder gut.

- Etwas Öl und Zucker in der Küche wäre super. Liegt etwas dezentral, aber das weiß man ja.

+ nice welcoming staff, good quality bed and pillow. the kitchen was well equipped and useful for preparing coffee or cooking.

- too much western pop music over the music system. we are in latin america! latin music please!
