It had bed bugs

Bed bugs! Excellent service from the staff, the facilities were good and the beds comfy. However, I got many bed bugs bites from just a one night stay here.

There were bugs in the bed, toilets not clean and also there wasn’t fresh air in the bathroom.

Having to share with snorers, people in their lockers in the middle of the night. Not knowing where the CLOSEST subway was until the day I checked OUT. QUESTION: How is one ASSURED there aren't any bedbugs?

For a reasonable price (snagged for double digits) and given the location, it drives a pretty good bargain. Plenty of spots to eat around the area. The place is a hostel that was previously a church? It has college dorm vibes on the inside, plenty of the private and cool public spaces. As a solo introverted traveller, it was pretty good for a safe place to rest your soul. If you opt for the 12 person room, expect to be interrupted by the light from the hallway peering through (problem easily solved with a night mask) and noise from people entering and exiting (bring ear plugs). The heater was blasting loudly (video attached), but I'm fine with white noise while I sleep. I'd recommend the 12person option for heavy sleepers or the prepared. Staff were really nice. Seemed like a straightforward hostel, friendly dorm atmosphere. I saw people doing the same as me. Great for a one nighter. Stayed for a one-nighter in winter, opt for a 12 man room (not completely occupied). Lockers come with rental, but no actual padlocks (fine by me). Hallways kinda smelled like a school gym, so sweaty-ish. The only bad part is waking up in the middle of the night to use the restroom. The lights are blinding. The benefits and convenience of location outweigh the cons by miles. I didn't see any bed bugs so that's a huge plus. Just make sure you keep you key card on you wherever you go, even when going to the bathroom. You'll need it to enter the building late night, and even into your room. Gives me a sense of security.

Les équipement ne sont pas facile d'usage. J'ai eu très froid dans la chambre à cause d'un courant d'air constant. Nous n'avons pas su d'où cela provenait. Toutes les douches de la salle de bain à côté de notre chambre étaient à l'eau froide. Il n'y avait pas d'eau chaude. Je n'ai pas compris non plus comment marchait les sèches cheveux. Je suggérerait dans l'éventualité d'une prochaine remise à neuf des douches de mieux déterminer les contours de la douche ou de mettre une inclinaison plus forte vers les trous d'évacuation d'eau car la cabine d'eau est rapidement inondée quand on prend sa douche.

Me hospede en este hostal del 14-17 de noviembre, todo iba bien hasta por la noche que estaba preparando la cama para dormir, cuando extendí la cobija estaba llena de bolas de pelos, luego por la mañana amanecí con piquetes y comezón por mi cuerpo, realmente pensé que estaba loca pero al día siguiente tenia mas piquetes, claramente eran chinches. Cuando pedi cambio de habitación accedieron (no esperaba menos) fui a tomar mis cosas y había un hombre revisando la cama intentando convencerme que no había nada, fue verdaderamente molesto! Realmente sugiero considerar hospedarse en este hostal mas si quieres tener una noche tranquila, por otra parte espero que solucionen esta situación es muy desagradable I stayed at this hostel from November 14-17, everything was going well until the night when I was preparing the bed to sleep, when I spread the blanket it was full of hair balls, then in the morning I woke up with bites and itching all over my body I really thought I was crazy but the next day I had more bites, clearly they were bed bugs. When I asked for a room change they agreed (I didn't expect anything less) I went to take my things and there was a man checking the bed trying to convince me that there was nothing, it was truly annoying! I really suggest considering staying in this hostel more if you want to have a quiet night, on the other hand I hope they solve this situation, it is very unpleasant.

Stiche an den Fußknöchel und im Gesicht, die eindeutig keine Mückenstiche waren, haben uns vermuten lassen, dass Bettwanzen die Ursache sein könnten. Leider wurden wir immer wieder vertröstet und indirekt der Lüge bezichtigt. Die Maßnahmen, die ergriffen werden sollten, um das im entsprechenden Zimmer zu prüfen, wurden wsl. nie vorgenommen, da wir selbst nach dem Gespräch mit dem Manager keine Rückmeldung erhalten haben. Mit Ignoranz und der Hoffnung, dass man einfach nachgeben würde, wurde hier gehandelt. Sowas stellt keine gute Service-Leistung dar. Zumal sich vom Personal nur ein Mensch für die Umstände entschuldigt hat, nachdem wir geäußert haben, dass wir zumindest das erwartet hätten.

Woke up with telltale 3 bed bug bites on my arm! For a hostel this large, it's going to be near-impossible to get rid of the bed bugs.

Great place to stay in NYC for cheap. On the 1, so it's going everywhere. Not the best place to meet people and have fun but it's fine. Clean almost everywhere, I just doubt about the sheets : I had hairs and others small stuff on it, hopefully it was not bed bugs. Staff is pretty friendly ! Cool place

I've stayed at this hostel couple of times now and it was all good till this year's stay. Unfortunately, I got bitten by bed bugs and have complained & showed proof of it to the front office, but it seems like they couldn't care less. Not only they've not offered any solutions, they've kept refusing it's bed bug bites all over my body and said it could've been some kind of allergies. Will never recommend staying at this place, please stay away from it for your own safety.

Punaises de lit en abondance et blattes dans les chambres, couloirs et sanitaires. Le personnel qui se moque de nous maigres nos nombreuses piqûres. Ricanent en voyant la vidéo. Après plusieurs essais une femme de l’accueil horrifiée en voyant la vidéo des insectes nous envoie une équipe d’intervention. Équipe qui se moque également de nous et refuse de changer tous les draps. Un ascenseur très lent, mieux vaut prendre les escaliers. Et bien sûr le 4eme étage sent très mauvais ainsi que les chambres. Bref, une très mauvaise expérience dans un lieu insalubre et avec un personnel inhumain

Cafards, punaises de lit, personnel d'accueil incompétent un ascenseur presque inutile, je dis bien 1 seul pour toute l'auberge alors qu'il y a 4 étages à monter, je vous déconseille.

The receptionist was nice and had no trouble checking in but If you’re looking for relaxation, this is not it.. People come in the room and turn on lights in middle of night making noise and have no consideration for others. The bathroom is not in room and it is located in hallway on other side shared with everyone on the floor. There’s only two showers and two stalls. People constantly using it and there’s no privacy obviously it is a hostel but it’s not worth the price. It is far from main locations like Times Square, mid town, port authority etc... The lobby is full all of the time... a lot of people in big groups traveling with schools etc... If you really want to stay at a hostel to save some money I recommend the JAZZ HOSTEL on Colombus which is about the same price and it’s is crentrally located in the city close to everything like restaurants, bars ,24hour shops, Times Square etc... It also includes free breakfast.,, it is never crowded and there is some privacy. You can lounge without having to be bother.. people seem more considerate and there are bathrooms inside of rooms. It might be a little more in terms of price but it is extremely worth it compared to this hostel and others in town... overall I must say this is okay compared to explore hostel in Jersey who has bedbugs. Thankfully there’s no bed bugs in his location and it can work if you’re on a tight budget.....

Don't expect a good service, you will be disappointed. Rooms are super expensive and it will include some bedbugs.

Before I left for NY, I tried to find a No. 1 hostel which with good price, convenient place with safe & soft bed. When I arrived there, I think it is a correct choice and try to have a good sleep. However, I cannot believe there has such a big surprise gift for me. After 12am, someone came back with a girl and began to do the thing which should only do in a private room for 2 adult. Hey man; this is a room for 8 Male, not for couples. They made a big noise and the guy who sleep downside has to go outside. I even think he must go to ask security man to check it. Someone came in after 1 am that interrupted the action of the lover. I think I slept when they were quiet after 3 am. I tried to complain to the manager in the next morning, the answer is they can do nothing if we had not talk to them even there is CCTV may catch that. For the red on the body, they said that absolutely not bite by bedbug. I can say nothing but left with disappointed. Everyone has different experience, this is mine here and the reason I rate it not good.
