Smart Camden Inn Hostel

This Hostel was the worst I ever stayed and I have been to a lot. Especially for the Price! The rooms where so dirty and smelled like rotten eggs. I am glad i stayed most of the time outside just came back every night and I almost vomit. The shower, toilet and sink were in one really tiny room and the floor was always dirty and so wet. The sink was clogged and because it was so small the water was always really high in the sink. I would Never go back there again Even if someone would Pay me for ...

Rude staff

Room completely different from what is “selling” - micro room and tiny, shower head doesn’t stay up, we have to bring it up all the time. Use of the toilet is not comfortable to use as its too tiny. Because the room is micro there is no storage at all to hang your clothes. Strong smell of cleaning products (bleach). Last but not least, you can’t count to leave your stuff there after checking out if your flight is later in the day as they don’t have enough space for that. Would NOT reco...

UNBELIEVABLE........

I’ve stayed at many hostels, this was the worst experience. Not very clean, extremely hot inside of the rooms with no aircon, the sheets I was given were stained. Bugs in the room. It took a long time to get into the hostel as nobody answered the door for several minutes. This would normally not have been an issue, but the area is not necessarily safe for solo female travelers, as I was followed multiple times by men, violently catcalled, and felt unsafe having to wait motionless at the door.

Very sad - I used to love this place. Unfortunately just because of an issue with the rude staff in their Hyde park branch, now I don’t stay here. It’s a shame the reception staff don’t completely understand customer service. I felt very talked down to when I visited today.

Revolting - the toilets are blocked, the staff are discriminatory and if you are not able to understand their Italian accents they get very offended.

Do not stay here! Bed bugs and not very clean. The only good thing was there was good security for your things. But would it recommend!

WORST EXP EVER! Everything the hostel advertise is either heavily sugarcoated or near a scam. Facilities in the room are not user friendly, locker works but could not fit a slightly larger backpack or luggage; socket was there but far away from bed, BAD! Most importantly, SPACE is unreasonably small, from bed to toilet to the room is all wrong, it could only fit to host primary students and that’s it. I am around 170 and hit my head many times when trying to get up from a 3 flight bunk bed!

Hostels in London have always been terrible, and during the last years they got even worse. Now sleeping in a dormitory (in London) doesn't mean sleeping in a big room with a lot of other beds anymore, it means you're going to be sleeping inside a box. The Camden Smart Inn is no different. The girl at the reception was extremely kind, and everybody behaved correctly. But paying more than 70 euros for this Japanese torture is sick. Location is perfect.

It's a good place if you want to stay in Camden and do everything on foot. However, it doesn't have a nice common area, the bathroom in the room is extremely small... I only recommend it if you want a place to sleep and nothing more.

Fijn, schoon hostel.

My friend and I stayed in a private room for 4 people and we had a very positive experience. The hostel was clean, there were a few other toilets around the hostel as well as the en-suite facilities, the beds were quite comfy and the curtains for the bed were a good idea. The staff were friendly and helpful and it felt like a safe environment. I would recommend bringing a portable charger due to there not being a limited number of plug sockets/USB point not working too well. Would stay again!

This isn’t a hostel. This feels more like an American jail. No space to move around and 6 people sleep on 2 sets of 3 bunks on top of each other in a room that is 8m squared. Always hot and humid.

La ubicación es buena pero las literas son de tres niveles y hay tres en un solo cuarto. Por el precio no está mal solamente hay que saber que el espacio está bastante limitado.

There are no communal showers so I imagine the ensuite situation can be a little difficult in rooms with more beds. Our room stank the whole time really bad even though the window was open 247. I liked having a curtain and a light+usb outlet (type B). Good sized lockers! You have to make your own bed, I was given two regular sheets, but the pillow had a pillowcase already as well as the duvet so unfortunately I was a bit unsure if everything was actually clean. Staff were very nice.

Buen hostel, en una ubicación buena, cerca de dos paradas de metro y varias líneas de autobús que llevan al centro de Londres en poco tiempo. Las instalaciones están bien y las limpian todos los días. La cocina compartida es amplia. La habitación de 12 está bien, con 2 baños. Sin embargo, tuvimos un problema con un hombre de la habitación, que llegaba borracho y drogado, dando golpes y vomitando por la noche, y pese a decirlo en recepción, no hicieron nada por mejorar la situación.

Espacios apretados y pequeños en las habitaciones compartidas. Sobre todo el baño. Si eso no es un problema, el resto es manejable. Personal agradable y simpático. Muy bien ubicado en la zona de Camden. Hay mucha oferta de restaurantes y tiendas por los alrededores.

Auberge de jeunesse agréable, bien située avec de grands espaces communs. Les chambres sont bien équipées. Petit bémol pour le bruit de la ventilation dans les chambres Personnel très agréable Literie confortable Petite salle de bain privative dans chaque dortoir qui permet d'avoir son intimité

Excellent location with camden itself right near camden markets and moments from the northern tube line. Combination locks on outside door and each room door, curtains for bed and a locker all very secure. Nice terraces outside and a good communal space. Staff very friendly and helpful. For the price in such a great part of london is incredible value.

Rooms are nice but quite compact. In terms of facilities: good big storage lockers, clean bathroom with hot water, secure location. Con: the social setting is quite dead in the hostel (which personally I find quite important while travelling in hostels), rooms were sometimes too warm during the night with the air con.

The rooms are really small for what is supposed to be 6 people, I feel as though it should be for four. The rooms for 6, are two triple bunk beds. Also I do not believe that they wash the comforters every time. I had to switch rooms in my stay, and the first room smelled so bad, and also did not feel very clean (room and bed/sheets/comforter).

They just saved one day of my life :)

Location was excellent as was going to Folk Festival in Camden BUT I'm 68 so as a solo traveller I'm too old to stay. I did email them and they let me off my booking fee.

Nice hostel! Great location and a great price. Have stayed here a few times to attend gigs in Camden / Kentish Town areas. Will definitely stay again!
