Mad Monkey Hostel Siargao

Does not look like the photos! Rooms are dirty,bathrooms are dirty, smelled of sewage and crawling with different types of insects, no security in the dorms anyone can walk into your room, the lockers were broken so you couldn’t close it or use a lock on it, the staff in the bar seem like they don’t want to be there, If I didnt have my friend there I would have left after the first day. On a positive note the bed is big, wifi and food is good Definitely check google reviews before booking ...

I It was so bad The food was so overpriced The location was so far away If you wanted to go out, they would give you a free bus, but you need to buy a shot first They started to renovate without letting me know and just moved all my stuff. Things were in my bad that weren’t mine including someone’s crusty razor Even though it’s a social hostel, everybody was on their phones Better to just stay elsewhere

One of the worst hostels I’ve stayed at in 2 years. No security: rooms open to the outside, anyone can enter. Beds with ladders only usable if you’re a monkey. Showers require a 1m corridor under a roofless path—rain ×50. Constant sewage smell. Dirt/gravel paths everywhere. Drinking water at the opposite end of rooms. Far from everything. Only good: a few kind staff and fast internet.

be carefull about flexible prices. they suddenly more then doubled the price to 22 euros for one night! thats more money then i spent some days the whole day

Very greedy hostel! I don’t think it was good value for money! I think it was very expensive! Not only was it expensive for a hostel; but there were lots of other hidden charges I.e towel rental (first place I have ever had to pay EXTRA for a towel!) and if you want a new/fresh one…. You have to pay every time! Also you are charged extra 5% service charge (mandatory) on all food/drink. I asked for my bedding to be changed 3 days in they just ‘forgot’ even though I’d asked 3 times!

The reps were really awesome and created a really fun vibe. The hostel staff however were very rude and unhelpful. Hotel transfer through them was cancelled and staff were beyond useless, didn’t let me know and were very unhelpful. Showers were also all freezing cold.

There were numerous rooms infected with bed bugs and when management were made aware of this they said they’d just change the sheets - As if that will get rid of them. They also attempted to move a male into an all female dorm at 2 in the morning, Turning on all the lights and being very loud - waking up all the girls sleeping at that time, because of the lack of beds due to the bed bugs infestation. I wouldn’t stay here there’s plenty of better hostels for cheaper and in a better location...

Cheap but very low quality, don’t recommend. My dorm broke down because people simply jumped and as a result the hostel kicked me out because they did not have enough space. The volunteers are really nice but management is not and the hostel has not the right vibe.

Staff are great but Alex, the new manager, he finds it hard to be fair to guests. Most especially the boat tour, suggest that if the boat tour will be divided into 2 boats, don’t go! I REPEAT, DON’T GO! Only boat 1 will have the bar, and the 2nd bot will be left thirsty.

Not enough showers and toilets, queues every evening to shower. Tried to eat/drink at the bar 3 times with no luck, always out of ingredients or wouldn’t serve pizza before 3pm? Ended up eating here once while waiting for airport transfer and partner got sick. CFC or cat n gun 2 minutes up the road for much better (and cheaper) food and drinks. A manager, maybe Dean, screamed at the Filipino staff behind the bar where we could all hear, very unprofessional. Only good thing was the rooms

I had an amazing stay at Mad Monkey Siargao! Best dorm beds in Siargao, and I’ve been at a lot of hostels. Trinity, Hannah, and Eva have been great. Ideal reps for the hostel!

Great facilities and food, the staff were amazing and can be as crazy as you want. We had a great night out, but also uninterrupted sleep when we wanted so can make it whatever you want it to be.

Great party hostel with a good atmosphere and fun activities every night. Staff was really nice, especially Lai. She made sure to kick off the party’s every night and was hosting many evening activities.

Stayed here for a few nights. The vibe was super social, the rooms were clean, and the staff made everything easy from check-in to local recommendations. Big shoutout to Lai for being incredibly welcoming and making everyone feel at home. Met amazing people here and would definitely come back again.

The hostel is great. The location is perfect, the rooms are clean and have space, the atmosphere is ultra friendly. Outings are constantly offered every evening. The staff is adorable. Ann was incredible with us, she made us feel comfortable, she really made sure we were doing well and she set the mood every night.

Had the best time ever, facilities are really good, activities were so fun and made sure you met so many people, and the staff were so kind and welcoming (shout out Ann she was amazing).

Really social hostel, loved my stay. They have the cutest hostel dogs. The reps Hannah and Eva were the best, they were so fun and attentive! They always got me hyped up for the night.

The property reeks of sewage water. Its not a very clean space to be around. Have stayed at Mad Monkeys Gili T which was 10x better than this property.

Loved my stay here! Hostel has such a nice vibe and met the best people here!! Hannah and Eva were amazing, got everyone involved and made the stay so fun🌟💛🫶🏼
