Zostel Pondicherry (Auroville Road)

This is a great and very clean place. However I haven't come across such pathetic untrained staff ever. One of the guys at the reception Mahesh is okay, but apart frim him everyone is either rude or dont know how to do their work. Wifi dont work in the rooms and they over charge you for every additional service they provide.

Staff was rude to us, seemed like checking in a jail with the tone being very rude, rules can be explained in much polite way

The place is little far away from the main city centre and maybe because it was weekday, there weren’t many people at the Zostel. However, the rooms are decent and clean. You have to have your own transportation as auto can get expensive!

Overall,it's good.

Love the property, was very clean and fun common spaces to hangout! Just one little tip before going, they dont have any locks for the doors or your storage space provided in the room. Might be handy to carry a lock by yourself, although it was all safe only.

They need to work on their cafe prices.

Very modern and clean hostel, I had probably my best sleep there in my trip in India. The staff is friendly and helpful, the location is good too. I found it a little 'spiritless' compared to other small hostels that are run by friends. I had breakfast every day in the cafe upstairs, the dosa and idli were lovely. The doors need some fixing though, they are so hard to open! Overall I'd recommend this hostel for a nice and comfortable stay close to Auroville.
