Although the location and staff are great, the hostel is quite lacking. The pool area only has two cheap plastic chairs. I had a private en-suite room and the bathroom was terrible. There was a lot of mold along the whole toilet base and there were constantly insects coming out of the drains including a large number of worms.

The room was dirty and smelled strongly of mold. There were no windows, making it extremely dark, hot, and humid. The bathroom had visible mold stains, the door wouldn’t close properly, and the smell spread into the room unless you pulled it shut very hard. On the first night, the water stopped running. The mattress smelled of urine and the air conditioning was poorly placed and ineffective. The only positives were the friendly staff, the evening atmosphere on the rooftop terrace.

I would never recommend this place for this price. 1. Dogs started barking the moment I arrived and they were aggressive. Also 1-2 of them were roaming in the room when staff took me to check in 2. No internet in the rooms and the rooms are pretty old in terms of facilities 3. No bidet in washroom and no body wash or shampoo 4. The dorms are at third floor so be mindful of that The staff was very polite but what can they do about the property. Overall this was my worst hostel stay in Bal

Worst place I’ve ever stayed in, couldn’t sleep because of the smell in the room. Super dirty and old, terrible place and a very expensive price for what it is. Also, old lady working in the cafeteria was very rude and mean, had an attitude each time I tried to kindly order. Would never ever come back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Les dortoirs ne sentent pas bon et sont rustiques, les serviettes sentent le chien mouillé, donc votre lessive aussi si vous en faites une auprès de l’hôtel. Que je déconseille vu l’odeur, les vêtements initialement blancs qui ont viré au gris plus la perte de vêtements ! Les deux femmes du petit déjeuner sont antipathiques à souhait ! Vaut mieux payer plus cher et avoir le service qui suit ! Je ne recommande pas

Poor service – it's rare to see a smile from the staff. No windows in the room and a strange smell. Mold in the bathroom. One of the bunk beds is placed directly under an aircondition, which is very uncomfortable.

staff were super friendly, however it was not quite what we expected as the room wasn’t very clean and our toliet flush was broken, and the free dinner was free for a reason, was a good hostel but maybe not worth how expensive it was

Nicht funktionierendes Wlan im Zimmer. Hygiene: es wurde 2 mal geputzt, aber trotzdem dreckig und ein ekliger Geruch im Zimmer. Kein warmes Wasser in den Duschen. Bett direkt an der Klimaanlage. Für den Preis absolut nicht gerechtfertigt. Da gibt es deutlich bessere Unterkünfte für eine besseren Preis. Zudem hebt eure Quittung auf wenn ihr bezahlt habt, mir wurde am Ende gesagt ich hätte nicht bezahlt.

The room had mold on its ceiling. It also smelled moldy and the bathroom was wet 24/7. We tried our best to air the room but it never dried and there was always some humidity in the room. The smell of the mold got stuck in all our clothes and in our hair aswell. Plus, the floor was not clean as well, I walked through the room with new white socks for maybe 2 minutes and they were brown already. It‘s very unfortunate because the hostel has a lot of potential.

Such a disappointing experience. Booked a private room which had visible mould, and such a stench of dampness and mould. Staff were unable to move our room and provided us with air freshener for the night. We asked for a refund for the further 2 nights and were only provided with the price of 2 nights minus the deposit. Staff gave us the WhatsApp of the owner who has not replied to messages or calls in over 2 weeks. Highly discourage from staying here.

We stayed for 3 nights in the 4 bed dorm. The dorm was spacious with a ensuite, and the beds had curtains and plug sockets. They offer free dinner and also a free banana pancake on check in. They have a few other free food deals and social events during the week. There is a shuttle that takes you to the beach which is free. The location is inconvenient. It’s a 10-15 minute walk to the centre but the hostel is at the bottom of a long hill which I did not enjoy. I dreaded the walk every day.

Stayed here for 3 nights and from the first day the staff were so warm and inviting. Awesome activities such as the rooftop yoga and the family dinners every night were delicious!! I booked a private room and it was spotless and super comfy. Also came with a massive tv which was a bonus. I had a small problem with the A/C in my room and the staff were so quick to fix it too! This hostel has everything you need, I couldn’t recommend it enough

Personal ist super freundlich. Saubere und große Zimmer. Kostenloser Shuttle zu verschiedenen Stränden. Tägliches kostenloses Abendessen im Hostel.

amazing hostel, probably in my all time top 3. great friendly staff, free shuttles to the beach and the uluwatu fire dance at the temple, free family dinner each night (which so many people attended besides the overall social atmosphere a great opportunity to meet new people!) and fun small events happening every night. Good location, clean rooms and the people really make sure that you’re having a good time there. 10/10!

I had a great stay at Karma Backpacker - I only wish I could’ve stayed longer! The family dinners are awesome (and delish), and I immediately met people who wanted to hang out the next day. The atmosphere at Karma is great, especially up on the rooftop. The staff are so nice, welcoming and helpful and encourage everyone to participate in the hostel events. Plus the free shuttles to the temple and beach(es) are a great perk! Would definetly recommend Karma :)

This hostel is the only thing that kept me sane in the aweful awful place that is uluwatu. Food is actually reasonably priced here and all the staff are lovely and welcoming

Jättebra hostel! Åt det dyrare hållet men man får mycket för pengarna, family dinner varje kväll, så lätt att träffa nya människor och fina sovrum och badrum! Rekommenderar verkligen att boka det här stället! Ett av det bästa hostelen i Sydostasien!

Had the best time there. The staff are so lovely and inviting. Very homey feel and social atmosphere upstairs. I would say this is one of my favourite hostels and would 100% recommend if staying in Uluwatu

I really liked the hostel. the staff is amazing and I even got free banana pancakes for check in. the Beach shuttle is perfect if you want to explore Uluwatu a little bit more. After check out you can continue using the pool and storage unit for your bags. Towels and shower are also provided. I had overall a really nice experience in thia hostel. :)

Free Dinner is amazing, good to meet ne people, and the shuttle is amazing. Staff was really nice. But not so many places to chill at the pool.

The KB is where its at.

Nice tucked away location from the business of Uluwatu, but still walking distance to night life, markets, and restaurants. Staff was great recommending local tours and services, and hosting welcoming family dinners each night with karaoke. The breakfast was reasonably priced and delicious! Filtered water stations available. I loved laying out by the pool or stretching on the rooftop.

Nettes Hostel in ruhiger Lage. Leider nicht so ganz Social. Abendessen war ganz nett. Leider gab es nicht so viele Liegen am Pool.

Really nice Hostel, free Dinner, very Social with out being a Party Hostel. Nice staff. Big rooms. There have free Shuttles to the beaches or the Tempel. Very very good all in all. Would definitely recommend it.

J’ai adoré mon séjour à cet hostel! Les soupers familiaux font vraiment toute la différence dans l’ambiance de l’hostel. Le personnel est toujours disponible et ils ont une très belle énergie. Je vais définitivement y retourner si je passe par uluwatu!

This hostel was amazing. All the staff were exceptional and they made amazing food, especially the banana pancakes. We would recommend this place so highly
