Magar Hostel Bar

This is by far the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed. It blows my mind that the reviews are so high on this place. Firstly, I stayed here for 3 nights post Salkantay trek, each night the music didn’t stop until 4:30-5am with the music rattling the windows. Our rooms were never cleaned resulting in our bin overfollowing with poo paper (which we ran out of). The lights did not correctly work in the room. The security was bad due to anyone being able to walk in from bar. Staff was extremely rude.

There is no security at all. The rooms don’t have keys so anyone can enter at any time. I took a women’s dorm and I was awaken in the middle of the night by a drunk male hostel resident who sat on my bed and I had to insist many times before he left.

First impressions of the hostle upon arrival were quite hostile, the cleanliness of the bathroom was terrible, there was pubic hair all over the bathroom floor covering every squere foot, and maté clogging up the sinks clearly not having been cleaned for some time, this was very uncomfortable to be in, we had planned to stay to wait for our overnight bus but we left as soon as we could, on a positive note, the beds were wide and comfortable however I wouldn’t recommend even for a nights stay.

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, fun bar on the second floor. However, it was not a clean hostel. Duvet was stained, dusty, and looked like it had not been washed. Private room was dusty, not enough towels were given for the amount of guests, garbage bag was dirty- like they took the garbage out but reused the bag. Probably would not stay here again.

Overall good hostel, great location. Stayed in a private room which was clean. If your booking purely for the free breakfast wouldn’t bother it was pretty bad, also if your wanting sleep maybe book somewhere else we stayed here for 4 nights and didn’t get any sleep. The hostel has its own bar which is convenient if your wanting to party, but if your wanting sleep for tours booked the music is blaring until about 3am. It felt like our bed was in the bar.

Prima hostel als je gezelligheid wil opzoeken in de bar maar niet als je wil bijslapen voor bijv. Een trekking of vroege tour! Wij hadden een prive kamer en hoorden de band die 2 avonden speelde alsof ze in de kamer stonden. Daarna ging de muziek ook nog door. Helaas ook niet altijd warm water (deels afgesloten en deels gewoon niet warm). Ook was vies terug gekregen omdat ze het afgesproken tijdstip niet haalde. Wel grote en schone kamer.

Great location, staff are generally helpful, however very loud location . We stayed in a private room and you could hear everything from the bar. Breakfast is not served till 7 30 which if your doing any tours is not open early enough. Other hotels/hostels start at 5 am. Our room as missing towels and when we asked for them they tried to charge us extra. In our private room there was a leak in the roof. They were nice enough to store our luggage during our Inca trial tour and are relatively chea

La ubicacion es perfecta si quieres algo cercano al centro historico, ademas de la seguridad que te brinda el sector. El ambiente del hostel es diferente y agradable. Durante mi estadia hubo problemas con la conexion de internet (wifi) pero nada que sea tanto problema como para solucionarlo. Referente a la limpieza, este pudo haber sido mejor al igual que el desayuno de cortesia que brindan. Finalmente, te puedo recomendar la estadia si piensas quedarte por pocos dias.

well... not too great. No athmosphere really, breakfast is extremely basic. Staff was super nice but it was volunteers that don't really care. Bathrooms were always dirty, exploding soap dispenser, nothing to dry your hands. It's cheap and beds are not disgusting, but I wouldn't recommend

Nice and relax vibe in the hostel, located just a few minutes walking from the plaza de armas. Clean and good dorms.

Amazing value in Cusco. The beds are big, have plugs, light, and curtains. 10 min walking distance from center.

Really good hostel, with great facilities and a really helpful staff, the hostel is definitely refomanded, BUT if you're someone who like going out at night know that you have a chance to stay lock outside because the night worksing guys is sleeping and don't open you the door, it's happen to me one time in 2 months, butwe had to book another hostel, a friend and me becausewas impossible to enter at 4 am

The staff is great and the location makes it easy to get to key places during your visit. They also store your luggage while you visit surrounding areas.

Un alojamiento 10/10. El personal muy amable. Me quedé otro día 3 días después y me equivoqué de fecha. El chico no tuvo ningún problema. Gente amable y buen desayuno. Recomendable 100%

Meu ponto negativo é em relação a água quente que é desligada das 23h as 06h. Sendo que todos os passeios em Cusco saem por volta das 04h da manhã e retornam a noite. Isso impossibilita o banho antes de sair para os passeios, pois a água fica muito gelada.

Great hostel for a quiet night! It was perfect as needed a rest after Salkantay trek, but no atmosphere for solo travelers! Good location, just around the corner from San Blas square and food market. Very clean and comfortable. Would recommend if you’re looking to recharge.

All the staff who dealt with us were very helpful and we were able to have a stress-free and comfortable stay. Thank you for checking us in and checking us out even though it was early in the morning. It was very helpful that you wrapped up my breakfast so I could take it with me when I had to leave early in the morning! The hot water was lukewarm, but all the facilities were clean and new, which was nice. The lockers were large and easy to use. Thank you very much.

Juan in reception, Ulek behind the bar, and Kevin's cooking are worth the stay alone, but the hostel is wonderful. Tons of things to do and comfortable places to chill. A great location and daily breakfast. I couldn't ask for more.

Great location really close to a lot of the big sites in Cusco, friendly staff, free breakfast, good dorms. I would definitely stay here again.

Achei o hostel incrível! Um prédio muito novo e bem localizado. O que mais me chamou a atenção foi a extrema limpeza do local, o que deixa o ambiente ainda mais agradável. Voltaria muito mais vezes, com toda a certeza. 😊
