Great beach life experience and super good value for money. All I can say was that this was the most fun hostel and the staff were the sweetest. No bed bugs, facilities were great, had lockers in the dorms. I had an amazing new years here- thank you to the whole team, the cutest dogs and the amazing people we met here!

Management can't seem to get their story straight on why so many people woke up with bed bugs bites, but of course the hygiene and living conditions couldnt possibly be their fault. The replies to the comments on here are horrendous and defensive - for a clear reason.

Very social hostel which was great, staff were incredibly helpful but all this isn’t important when they don’t maintain their rooms, numerous people with bed bug bites.

It’s such a shame that I have to leave a bad review for this hostel as most of the staff we dealt with were great, and the atmosphere was really good. Unfortunately we got bed bugs here, despite what management said. Our beds were checked and we were told it was just mosquitos - these bites were not mosquito bites. They then told us it was ants in response to a google review. Bad management and quite unprofessional. Don’t stay here if you don’t want to deal with bed bugs.

Insects all over the room in the private room, ended up leaving with several bites from bed bugs and the fans were not enough to cool the room down, floor felt dirty and very dimmed lighting

Atmosphere was good, met some amazing people, pool was clean to an extent. Happy hour was great, right on the beach, pretty close to shops & markets/ restaurants However, lockers in rooms were tiny could barely fit anything in there and were broken. There’s no air con anywhere so constantly hot, the beds are bad we had bed bugs. As well as that some creepy 40 something man idk if he works there or owns it but he videoed us in our bikinis and hurled abuse at us, whilst abusing his puppy by throwing it in the pool numerous times until it nearly drowned.

I got bed bugs. The hostel clearly did not do a sufficient job of cleaning the rooms and I had to suffer the medical consequences. They gave me a refund on my stay which I appreciated but the damage had already been done. Doing laundry and getting rid of the pests was just a miserable process. The hostel did not even offer for me to stay somewhere else for free, nor did they offer to pay for the cleaning fee I had to endure to get rid of the bugs. Not only that, but the bathrooms were just absolutely repugnant. There is nasty goo everywhere on the bottom of the toilets and the showers, and the sinks. Pretty much all over the bathroom (for at least the mens room, I am not sure if the women's room is the same). It looks like the bathrooms haven't been cleaned in god knows how long. They were so bad and smelled horrible I almost wanted to throw up. This was one of the worst accommodations that I have ever stayed in and it truly baffles me how poorly this property handled its cleanliness. I truly believe that this place needs to re-evaluate its' cleaning process and potentially re-vitalize the bathrooms. I understand that those may be difficult because it is a hostel on the beach and many of the facilities are open-air/outdoors but many other hostels and accommodations within Southeast Asia can stay clean, so I also believe that iHome can do it too. I would love to return to iHome someday if they are able to ride the ship with their cleanliness and customer support, because the location is just perfect, the vibe of the hostel is immaculate, and the overall potential is as high as the stars. But I simply cannot trust that the next time I go, I would be able to trust the beds or the bathroom quality. Until changes are made, I do not suggest that anyone stays at iHome hostel if they value basic cleanliness while backpacking through Southeast Asia. I hope that iHome upper management reads my review, as I truly want iHome to succeed.

This is undeniably the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. The place is extremely dirty and there is no desire from the staff to rectify. There was bed bugs and plethora of mosquitoes. There is no aircon and the facilities are not adequate.

All dorms were connected so could be noisy, lots of mosquitoes despite the nets, possible bed bugs

Honestly such a great place, the rooms don't have Aircon but they all have individual fans and you are so close to the sea and pool it doesn't matter. It was seriously hot when we were there so the pool and sea was such a blessing. Food is also great quality for the price and so convenient so ate alot there. Not really anything to do in Mu No so most of the time is spent at the hostel. No problem with bed bugs. The hostel is quite big so feels a bit cliquey at first but is fine. Sick place

Was scared to come here bc a lot of reviews mentioned bed bugs. Came anyway, loved it! Deffo more a party hostel though chill during the day

Staff were very attentive and lovely. Great hostel for backpackers on a budget. The food is nice at a reasonable price. My only issue is the evident issue of bed bugs. From reading previous reviews the staff seem to be in denial about bed bugs claiming that only individuals are experiencing them when staying here. But this is not true, many people there were suffering from the bed bugs. Despite the bed bugs this hostel is brilliant, many activities to keep you occupied and social.

Had a great time here, heard about the bed bug but we didn’t have any trouble. Dorm are pretty basic with small lockers, be aware the music would be loud to midnight but everyone is around so really good atmosphere to meet everyone.

The property was very dirty, many of the beds had bed bugs which affected my boyfriend. We told the staff and they tried to keep it quiet, saying they would compensate us if we did so, but they never even sent any money. Cost a lot of money to wash all our clothes and buy medicine for the bites and they didn’t care. They just wanted to keep hiding the bed bug problem rather than solving it.

In alcuni letti ci sono bed bugs, l'asciugamano non è incluso. Il tour per le dune non è esattamente economico ma immagino sia nella media.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hostel, it was a fun atmosphere and the social area was great. I woke up after my first night with my arms covered with many bites (has been confirmed as bed bugs by a medical professional) the staff weren’t helpful initially when dealing with this but then later gave me some money back and assisted with doing my washing etc for free which was appreciated. Just be aware when booking this hostel and the staff will try and state they are only mosquitoes bites.

Great hostel. Nice pool and very big common area with beach front. Front desk very friendly and helpful. Rooms are big with many beds but got good sleep. Each bed has its own ventilator and moscito net. Def do the sand dune tour with them. I did not have bed bugs but heard other people talking about it. Maybe have an extra look at your bed before going to bed. More party hostel vibe but not too crazy

Great hostel! Ruminations about bed bugs but we were all right and didn’t hear anyone directly complaining - just people talking about the reviews some people had left. The rooms are basic - each bed coming with a fan; no AC. Genuinely the only hostel to stay in at Mu Nei, the others are not worth your time. Social vibe and made lots of friends !!

I would NOT recommend to stay at this hostel. There are bedbugs in the dorms, and even in the deluxe private room! Me and my friend stayed in the deluxe private room, and both of our legs were FULL OF BIT MARKS! We have also talk to a lot of other backpackers who have stayed there, and they feel the exact same thing! I would NOT recommend this hostel!

me and my friend stayed at on the 6th till the 9th Jan 2024. We are really upset as we’ve left with bed bugs bites all over us, to the point we’ve had to wash every single piece of clothing we own including our travel backpacks. We’re on a budget and it cost us each a fair amount of money to get everything washed on full heat to kill the bugs and eggs. We also got declined in our next hostel due to it. Great atmosphere but not ideal for staying unless you want to get bitten to death.

Good party hostel in Mui Ne. Pool was good to chill by in the day, the tour to the dunes was worth doing, and there was always music, organised games, and drinks in the evening. Beds in the dorms were basic but clean (no issues with bed bugs, and mosquito nets kept out everything else.) The food was similarly nothing exceptional, but was nice enough. Don’t come expecting luxury - toilets are very much in the main area etc., but it’s fun and reasonably comfortable for a couple of nights.

Loved this place, loads of games to play (pool etc), swimming pool was perfect, staff were all friendly and helpful. Not much wrong with this place at all, made for a great stay for a few nights! Ignore the bed bug reviews, none of us or anyone we met experienced them so it seems sorted now. Rooms were fine nothing flashy but did the job.

Great social hostel, ended up extending because it was so much fun! The dorm rooms are not enclosed so you are basically sleeping outside but the mosquito nets are great. Also no bed bugs, just regular bugs! Would definitely stay again

okay hostel, don’t let the bed bugs bite at night!!! atmospheres good , 2 orgys in the pool have a wash after the pool

Absolutely recommendable. I booked one night but stayed longer. Fantastic atmosphere, staff and spaces. They have a very good common area which makes easier to meet people. Everything is absolutely clean, toilets, swimmingpool, bedrooms, etc. I was worried about some reviews i read about bedbugs, but it wasn't true! they are cleaning the bedrooms frequently and take care about it. I felt like home!!

Staff is really nice but you can’t lock the dorm rooms and there’s a lot of bedbugs…
-
Confirmé Hostelworld
Believe the bed bug reviews! 3 of us had been bitten after one night stay. The place could be a lot cleaner and maintained better like in the showers/toilets. When it rained the water dripped through the straw roof onto the beds. The staff are lovely and friendly, they have activities each evening and they organise tours and transportation well. I personally wouldn’t stay here again unless the issues above were resolved.

Was good for the sand dune quad biking but honestly stay as short of time as possible! We got there at 9pm and left at 10am the next day - we didn’t have bedbugs (although someone said they did) but I did have a ray go in my bag and eat some snacks - the toilets were in the main area so if you needed to use them at night you had to walk through everyone to get to them - the vibe was fun was the only positive

Bed bugs didn't allow me to sleep. Staff were great, if you want to party this hostel works if they sort out the pests.

This is such a sociable hostel, perfect for meeting other solo travellers. There’s darts, pool, table tennis and an actual pool. There’s bed to relax on outside and a really nice pool. They run tours of the sand dunes from here. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food is good and the drinks nights are good value. BUT there were BED BUGS when we stayed, something which they didn’t seem surprised to here about when told.

The hostel was very cute nice area and the staff was very friendly. Was just a shame about the bed bugs and in the dorms they was no lock for the rooms so anyone could just walk in. Overall the food was delicious and the free beer for an hour was great too.

I had the best time at iHome! It’s a pretty social hostel but the property is pretty big, so if you’re just looking for a chill one there’s plenty of space to hide out. The staff is super helpful and very sweet. Free towels, locks and free beer from 6-7. The pool is clean, the food is good and there’s plenty of things to do. Only thing I would recommend is to not lie on the daybeds because they might have bedbugs. The dorm beds are perfectly fine and clean though. For 4 AUD, you get more than you can expect and you’ll definitely meet some great people!!

*BED BUGS* - I should have listened to the other review. The reception assured us they didn’t have bed bugs, but after two nights, all three of us got bed bugs from the dorm beds. Look elsewhere if you don’t want bed bugs. If they didn’t have an infestation, the hostel would be great & 10/10.

The hostel definitely looks lovely, is very social and the staff is super nice. However, after spending two nights there i had so many bedbug bites. After the first night I thought it was mosquitos but after the second one I had so many bites it was clear it was bedbugs. Unfortunately, I only noticed that when I left the hostel.

Really nice hostel for a really nice price! Some of the reviews on Hostelworld say there are bed bugs but I’m not sure where that’s come from as no one had experienced any when we were there and the rooms were pretty nice! There is no air con but they provide you personal fans and mosquito nets and I slept really well and wasn’t too hot at all (I was in an 8 bed dorm for reference)! The common areas are great with loads of games including shuffle board which was surprisingly fun, and it has a really nice pool and great atmosphere at night! They even bought my friend a cake for her birthday which was such a lovely touch!

Probably the best option in mui ne, good atmosphere at night and offers relatively cheap tours of sand dunes (200k). No aircon in rooms and got absolutely eaten alive by bed bugs 🐛

Very dirty hostel, so many rats running around and lots of people having problems with bed bugs. Few things to do like table tennis, pool, table football but don’t stay here
