Refugio La Roca

La vue est splendide comme promis, l’endroit est plutôt calme côté canyon, beaucoup plus bruyant côté route… Personnel très aimable Hygiène pas au rdv (Cuisine ok-, douches et toilettes commune avec de fortes odeurs d’urine chez les hommes, sanitaires communs pas ou alors mal nettoyés) —-> punaises de lit (!!!)

Good: Wonderful views, nice food. Bad: Lacking in hygiene. Bed bugs. Disgusting toilets that need to be flushed with a bucket. At least they could have made sure they were otherwise spotless. High degree of DIY construction like locks that don’t line up etc. Staff is mix of volunteers and paid which doesn’t help with consistency and motivation. Several people got sick due to the shower/sink water, although this is not the Refugio’s fault as there are clear“non-potable water” signs. But, warning or not, you’re at risk. In short the place is run with a “volunteering” attitude which would be great if it weren’t for the commercial pricing.

Beautiful place but watch out for the bed bugs in the Kilimanjaro room!
